OOC - Still Breathing

This is the OOC Thread for the Still Breathing Role Play.

Please post any questions, comments or otherwise here to prevent clutter in the primary thread.

Question.
I understod that each player starts with 5 inherent skills. As the game progresses, can a player acquire more skills or trade for different ones?

No. All skills chosen are final until the character dies and a new character is made.

Please note however, that just because you are not skilled in certain areas does not mean you cannot attempt to perform the same actions, it just means that you'd be at a disadvantage in the act of attempting them.

i.e. A person who is skilled in Driving would be able to jump onto a motorcycle and take off immediately. Whereas, someone who does not possess that skill would possibly need more time to figure out how to get moving, balance etc.

We will be beginning this Sunday with or without a 5th member.

Okay, so how this will start is I will roll a random number first to determine where each player begins at.

Ignore the sum of the numbers and look at each number that was rolled.

Roll 1: Hunter has arrived at the Abandoned School
Roll 2: Pansy "Ann" has entered the Barricaded Church
Roll 3: Donata has found her way into the "Last Chance Bar & Grill"
Roll 4: Guillaumehas wandered into the former police station


Here are the locations represented by numbers:
1: Police Station (Contains guaranteed Small Firearms, possible Large Firearms, Melee Weapons or Body Armor)
2: School (Contains guaranteed First Aid, possible Small Firearms and Melee Weapons)
3: Restaurant/Bar (Contains possible Small Firearms, First-Aid, Melee Weapons or Large Firearms)
4: Church (Contains guaranteed First Aid, Melee Weapons or Small Firearms)
5: Library (Contains guaranteed Melee Weapons, possible Small Firearms or First Aid)
6: Auto-Repair Shop (Contains guaranteed Melee Weapons possible Small Firearms or Large Firearms)


Now that starting locations have been assigned, you may make your first posts to introduce yourself to your new environment, search around your starting location for any weapons or items that might be of use, only if they would be present in that type of location: i.e. no shotguns in the Library etc.

As far as "Finding" Weapons/Equipment, You must make a Roll action for yourself for any item(s) you are looking for.


Example:

Hunter searches the nurses' office for a first aid kit.

1-2 No items found
3-5 First Aid Found!
6 Two Kits found!

Results: Hunter is disappointed to discover that there were no first aid units remaining.


Simply put, whenever you search for any item(s), you include a 1-2 roll for not finding what you are looking for, 3-5 for finding it, and a 6 for a bonus.

I am going to post it here for my first roll.
However I have a question, should we roll in the OCC or on top of our post in the rp thread?

Rolling for some armor/protective gear. *crosses finger*

EDIT: WOW!!! I am so lucky... *happy dance

EDIT 2: Okay so i'm in the police station, where i cannot find small weapons, so i am not rolling for that.
should i roll for munitions/bullets?

Searching for protective gear:
1-2: nothing found
3-5: found a bulletproof vest
6: a vest & a helmet

Guess I should specify that.

All melee and small firearms have infinite ammo.

So the only ammo needed to be searched for is for larger weaponry.

Now, as for the "search rolls" please do them as I did them in the example and do them here, so that we can see what you were rolling for and the options that were available.

Rolling for some large firearms

1-2: nothing found
3-5: found a shotgun
6: a shotgun and a box of ammo.

Question, for small items such as a flash light, do I have to do an action? Just in case I'll do one here now.

1-2: Not found
3-5: Flash light found
6: Flashlight and extra batteries found.

EDIT: It seems I'm just as bad at rolling dice online as I am in real life. *sigh*
