Nywele awoke very earlier the sun had not yet shined its rays over the land. He stretched careful not to disturb Amani, she looked so peaceful he hated to wake her just yet. Nywele quietly walked out of their den to stare at the sky. This was one of his favorite times of the day. The stars and darkness of the night sky were still visible, but rays of light were slowing cutting their way through the sky. There was a silence over the land, a pause in the noise of life as the night creatures went to sleep and the day creatures were just waking. Distance chirps of song bird made the god's ears twitch as smile came to his face. He could tell this day would be a good one. Nywele would spend it with his beybanu Amani, they needed to get to know each other a little more. He wanted to love Amani for more then just her beauty and her excellent skill as a beybanu.
Nywele lay down to wait for Amani, till she awoke he could enjoy the sunrise over his new home and dream of the adventures that lay a head of him.

Amani woke slowly, stretching and yawning as she realized it wasn't nearly as warm as it had been the night before. She looked around, making a face at how the den looked once again. Nywele might like it like this, but she wasn't going to tolerate it for much longer. No, this day should be spent making their home comfortable for when other banu... and cubs came.
Cubs, she thought in delight, there was the chance that she would one day have cubs now! Beautiful cubs that looked like their father, or herself, oh how she could hardly wait! With that joyous thought she got up, heading to her pad and rubbing against him with a purr. "Good morning, my pad," she greeted him.

"Good morning my beybanu." Nywele replied accepting her rub with much appreciation. He took in her beauty in the earlier morning's light, Nywele was proud she was his. The thought of the condition of his home never really accrued to the god. Cubs had indeed crossed his mind though, he wanted a son and even a daughter, he wanted his family to be complete.
"I've decided what I will do today, Amani." Nywele said looking over his new home once more before looking back at Amani. "It is my divine desire...to spoil my Beybanu. Everything else can wait, I want to spend this day with you! Though I do know you want to work on our home which we can, but let's spend the morning at least doing more frivolous things." The god said raising his brows for her reaction. Though he had not yet thought of what they would do this morning he would think of something soon enough.

She blinked, cocking her head slightly as she was forced to reevaluate her day as easily as that. Not that it was a bad thing to be spoiled, of course! "If," she started out slowly, "you would be interested in going hunting with me, I think it might be fun." That and it was a way to get food on the table at the same time. She was starting to get the feeling she was the more practical of the two.
Then again, did gods even need to eat? He might have never had to hunt in his entire life. If that were the case, this might actually be REALLY fun, she thought with a hint of amusement.

Amani was most certainly the most practical of the two. This god had never really had a need to think practically. Well hunting wasn't really what he had in mind, but it would be amazing to see. Nywele had heard females were the true huntresses. Perhaps he could lend his powers in the hunt some how to without ruining the whole chase. "I think I would take enjoyment in a hunt, my Amani." The god replied finally getting to his paws and stretching. "You lead the way I am sure you know where the prey run better than I."

"Perhaps," she said modestly, heading out of the den and greeting those she walked past with smiles and nods as they headed for the hunting ground. "Something not too large, we don't want to get more than we need. Not when there are much large families that need to eat in the pride."
She headed for the nearest tall grass, laying down in it.

Nywele smiled her modesty was something he found very cute about her. It was not something a god came across often. He followed her smiling at his pride members as they went. He couldn't wait to meet some of the other pads, but that would have to wait.
"True,though could we not help the other families out as well?" The god asked not sure about the customs when it came to such things. As they went into the tall grasses his markings dulled and his wings vanished. Nywele lay down beside her and followed her gaze.

"For the most part, the other families have more than enough banu to hunt for their pad," she said softly, watching for prey. "If we manage to catch more than we need, I might take the excess to Mollie. She has many cubs, but no other banu. Taking care of them all is quite a job."
Her pose seemed relaxed, but her eyes were scanning the area next to the lake, where animals would be coming to drink.

Nywele nodded understanding he almost hoped they would catch enough for this Mollie. It would be a nice gesture he felt. Nywele crossed his paws while waiting for the prey to show.
"Once you pick our prey let me know and I shall send it towards you." Nywele whispered he wanted to help, but he also wanted to see her in action.

She nodded, watching as an impala herd moseyed towards the water. One of them wandered a bit too far, closer to the two lions laying in wait. "See her?" she whispered, nodding at the impala. "You startle her and I'll take her down. But don't do it until I've gotten to that tree, right there," she added, nodding to a tree several feet away.

Nywele gave a swift nod to show he understood. He waited for her to move for the tree. As he did he thought of how to best go about spooking the impala in the right direction. He considered shape shifting into an impala, but there were to many ways that could go wrong.

She reached the tree, then looked back at him, waiting for him to rush forward. But he was just standing there, thinking about something. Did he even know how to hunt? She was starting to think he didn't!
With a little sigh and the urge to laugh she sat down, waiting patiently for him to come to some sort of conclusion. Her pad was a very interesting male, Amani decided with an inward laugh. A very interesting male indeed.

Nywele looked at Amani realizing she was already to the tree, he smiled at her finally knowing just the right way to insure the impala ran strait to his beybanu. He gave a wink to Amani then vanished into thin air. It was a moment before he reappeared on the other side of the impala. He gave a mighty roar and the impala jumped as though it were going to have a heart attack right then and there. It stumbled before bolting strait towards Amani. Nywele couldn't help but laugh at the poor things reaction, but whatever works works.

Amani almost yelped at how fast he did that, but she jumped all the same, taking down the impala with a calculated hit and a bite to the throat as she broke its spine. Death was instantaneous. She was dragging the carcass away even as the rest of the impala herd realized what had happened and started to stampede away.
"Thank you, my pad," she called to him, stepping away from the kill. "You did a marvelous job! Of course, I expected no less!" Then she waited for him to eat, as was proper. And she didn't feel even the tiniest bit of guilt for flattering him so shamelessly. In fact, her tail twitched with the enjoyment of it.

Nywele admired her skill as she took down the impala. Yes a male could do it but not with such swiftness and grace. He galloped over her her with a large grin. "That was amazing to watch my Beybanu, it is no wonder it is the female who hunts!" He enjoyed her praise very much and wished to return it.
He took the cue from her as she stepped back and he ripped into the impala. It didn't take long for him to reach his fill, he didn't eat as much as other lions his size though. He stepped back and began to lick the blood from himself. "You picked a good meal Amani." He said waiting for her to eat. "Thank you."
