Nywele felt like taking a flight to get a better view of the pride lands. He smiled at the sight of the lions moving back and forth the sight of the prey moving across the lands. It was beautiful even in its simplicity.

Mr. Birdy Bird Flew along side his master looping around him and chirping happily. They flew through the low clouds for a while more before deciding it was time to land. He found a nice rock to perch on with a flap of his wings kicking up dust as he landed. His familiar landed on his head and gave a loud chirp as it started to mess with one of his braids.

That lion...that unfamilar Pad with the big full mane... he...he'd...he'd just...

... he flew.

Anwar stood stock still, his previous pursuits utterly forgotten in the face of this sudden and unexpected happening. Lions didn't fly. Nor did they have wings. But this one seemed to.

Amazed, the young cub sprinted in the direction the lion seemed to be heading, wanting to see with his own eyes up close. Close enough to tell if maybe he wasn't seeing things. But when the strange Pad landed, he paused, lingering in the brush. It helped that his dark greenish fur went fairly well with the plantlife, and his vast experience with laying low with ears wide open helped him to stop and wait without being utterly obvious about it.

But still.

He had no idea that lions could fly. Was there anything else about this one that he would never know otherwise? Did that bird have anything to do with it? It looked like any other, sure, but no other bird that he'd ever seen had flown with a lion.

Curious, but hesitant, Anwar lingered in the bushes, his crimson eyes fixed firmly on the new Pad. The new Pad with wings.

Nywele tucked his wings on to his back and gave his paw a flick before smacking the air near his familiar. "Stop fusing I need to take the braids out tonight anyways." He said grumpily not really feeling like having his hair rebraided at the moment.

Nywele twitched his whiskers and looked around it almost felt like someone was watching him, but he couldn't pin point anything in particular. He was still having trouble telling one scent from another in the pride lands. Figuring it was nothing the god went to licking his fur to rid it of some dirt he caught while flying. It wasn't but a few moments more before he stood and started to walk not really sure where he was going but he was still feeling a little restless.

Anwar twitched as the strange Pad spoke, quailing slightly when he thought he was caught. But then he relaxed, the lion had only been talking to the little blue bird on his head. On his head and in that amazing mane... but the mane wasn't what had amazed Anwar, though he liked to think his would be at least as impressive as his father's when it came.

No.

It was definitely...

...the wings.

Curiosity may have killed the cat, but Anwar was eager to know more. A flying lion! Imagine that! Why, Obadias would be so surprised... wait. Why did he suddenly want to share a secret with his little brother? He was supposed to keep his secrets! Otherwise they wouldn't be secret- ah! Wait! The flying lion was leaving!

Hastily, rising to his paws, Anwar did his best to slip stealthily through the brush after the strange Pad, grateful that his coloring helped him to blend in even just a little.

Nywele's ears flicked back and he stopped as he could swear he heard something. With eye brow raised Nywele turned to look in the direction of which he had, but he did not see Anwar. The god shrugged before moving on again. He fluttered his wings putting them into a better position before letting them vanish from sight. No point in the wings being seen when he wasn't flying, at any rate it seemed to cause cubs to follow him.

There is was again?! What was that sounds? Nywele turned to look again , but he shook his head figuring the dizziness of a flight was still playing tricks on his mind.

Wings…the wings were gone!

How were the wings gone? Anwar blinked, shaking his head, then peered out from the brush at the strange flying lion again. He knew they’d been there! He knew it! So where did they go? It was so…strange… A lion who flew and then made his wings invisible. Just like that… hey wait.

If this lion had invisible wings…maybe every lion did. Maybe Anwar did! How amazing would that be, to have the power of flight hidden away somewhere, just waiting for him to be clever enough to discover it and master it for himself. His throat suddenly burned with questions, and it was all he could do to hold his tongue. This stranger might not like being found out. He might not tell Anwar anything. It would be best if he found out for himself… maybe this new Pad would make the wings come back again, and then Anwar could see how it was that he’d done it…

Anwar froze when the male stopped, hunching down into the grass and brush, hoping that his fur would help him to hide from sight. If he couldn’t have his father’s wonderful rich dark pelt, he should at least get some use out of this green one…sure it was a dark green, and sure he liked his mother. But… but he wanted his father to notice him. To be proud of him. Tariq’ barely even looked at him. But… but if he could fly

Cautiously, the cub shifted so he could peer through the bottom of the bushes, knowing he was less likely to get seen if he didn’t poke his head up over the plants he was using as cover. People didn’t always look under the leaves. He might do well if he could sit in the trees too, people didn’t always look up there either. If he could fly, then he might do that instead. But for now, for now he was going to creep forward until he could actually see the lion. Caught up in trying to figure out where the wings went, Anwar let his dark nose poke out from under the bush, his crimson eyes gleaming with unbridled curiosity.

Nywele slid his head back slowly, just sure something was following him by this point. Yes, he spotted little red eyes a cub most likely. Nywele smiled a bit, hmm he had already pulled the vanishing act on one cub. What should he do to this one? Hmm yes he had just the thing.

"Looks like no one is around..its safe...to show my true identity for I am really a waterbuck in lion's clothing." Of course this would sound just plain crazy but Nywele had the unique ability to make it a little more believable. He quickly shapeshifted into a waterbuck and turned to charge at the cub just stopping a foot in front of the cub.
"Oh dear I hope you'll keep my secret little one...." Nywele broke into laughter before shifting back to his lion form.

Awnar blinked as the strange flying lion suddenly began speaking to himself. Why would he do that? And...why would he say such strange things? That was ridiculous, how could a waterbuck-

Eeep!

Anwar flattened against the ground, tail fluffed up in fright when the lion suddenly did turn into a waterbuck and charged straight at him! He probably should have run right then, but instinct was spoiled by weeks of waiting in paitent stealth. So while he probably should have bolted, as any cub would, Anwar remained 'hidden' under his bush, eyes huge with shock and confusion though he hadn't uttered a single sound.

At the laugh, he forced himself to sit up, refusing to show just how startled, or frightened, he'd been. He'd almost gotten trampled! But, plainly caught, or hallucinating horribly, it would look foolish to hide about in the shadows.

"Of...of course," he managed, his voice shaking slightly. He cleared his throat feircly, his father would be so disappointed in him for having been scared by a preybeast!

"I must say you are quite clever at keeping yourself hidden. But you should have just said hello, I don't like feeling like I'm being watch." Nywele said still smiling. "Sorry if I may have.....caught you off guard." He paused and did not say scared, for the cubs sake. He felt it important for a cub to build confidence and catching that he had been frightened would not help.

"So why were you following me?" He said flicking his ears forwards wondering what the motive behind it was.

Quietly, Anwar tried to flatten out the frizz on his tail. Just in case someone saw it and thought he'd gotten scared of something. He had absolutely no desire to try to explain that a flying lion turned into a waterbuck and charged him. He didn't want to seem crazy.

He did enjoy his cleverness being noticed...almost. If he were truly accomplished, he never would have been discovered to begin with! He didn't move when the other apologized for 'catching him off guard'. Yes, that was exactly it. Of course.

Not.

"I thought I saw you flying," Anwar answered after a moment. He didn't add that he'd hoped to see how it was done that he might somehow manage to imitate the great-maned lion. Somehow he rather thought that wasn't the best bit of information to share...and he liked to keep his secrets to himself. All of them. "But...I suppose that's impossible..." he added meekly, not that he wasn't sure of what he'd seen!

"You did." Nywele answered still smiling like a cheshire cat. "Its not impossible for me. Gods can do that you know. We can also teleport and shape shift." It seemed that Nywele was the first god this little cub had ever met. Nywele wasn't one to keep secrets to himself specially not from pride members even if this one was young. "I can assume I am the first god you've seen then."

Nywele ran a claw through his mane thoughtfully. Had this cub even ever been told about gods and goddess? Well this pride wasn't really religious or anything so it wasn't that surprising, Nywele supposed. "My name is Nywele and I am the god of manes." He said wondering id he should explain domain as well.

He did fly? So Anwar wasn't going crazy. Not if this lion was a god. He'd heard of them, but no one had ever really confirmed whether or not they were real. Well, considering he was sitting here speaking to a lion who flew, changed shape, and then proclaimed himself to be the god of manes, which made sense looking at his mane, then gods must be real. It was only logical after all.

"I'm Pesar Anwar'Mazin," he replied, remembering to introduce himself once the lion...or god...gave his name. "Vizier Tariq'ra'd's son, or one of them," the cub amended after a moment. "Mostly people just call me Anwar, it's easier." And also seemed friendlier really, and that was a good thing if he wanted to get some questions answered or learn about someone. "So...you're the god of manes. Does that mean there are gods of other things?"

Okay, so usually he tried to learn without having to ask questions. But Nywele was a god, and he'd never dealt with a god before! Since he'd said to just speak up before, Anwar was betting that would be the best way to find out what he wanted to know. Or maybe he could ask just the right questions, and get more answers than he seemed to have asked for. That would be good too.
