Oh Nywele did his best to hide his true emotion and plan. He wanted Amani to think he might be upset with her about how she had acted. He led the way not saying a word getting a good distance from the dens and other lions and finally stopped in a clearing turning to face his beybanu. "Amani, I know we have not known each other long, but do you trust me?" The god tried his best to hide all emotion maybe it wasn't right to play this trick on her, but he hoped once all was said and done she would forgive him for it.

"Of course I trust you," she said honestly, torn between explaining her problem and not wanting to burden him with it. It still weighed heavily on her mind how she had angered him. But he was a god, right? Just a regular lion could have killed her for making him mad, yet he hadn't touched her, and he had so much more power than a regular lion. "With my life, my pad," she added.

Nywele nodded looking satisfied with her answer. He sat there for a moment longer before stretching on of his large paws out to her pad up. "Good now give me your paw." Nywele said simply to her.

She did as he said, placing her much more dainty paw on his, a curious look on her face. "Are you going to start singing, or something?" she asked curiously. "I bet you have a wonderful singing voice!"
She had, just as a cub would, completely gotten distracted. But seriously, this was the perfect time for a song number, right? Okay, maybe not. But she would definitely try and talk him into singing for her! Her Vizier had tried it once, and she had ALMOST gotten through the song without giggling helplessly at how off key he was.

Nywele gave her a serious look before he sharply spoke. "I'm not going to sing!" Suddenly he pulled her to him and wrapped his paw around her back, in the same motion Nywele flapped his barley visible wings. They lifted into the air as though they were both light at feathers. "I suggest you hold on." He said smiling finally, before he lifted them even higher off the ground. "And believe me Amani I have never sung before so I don't think you would want to hear me sing." The god said with a chuckle.

She yelped, clinging to him tightly as she realized that she had a borderline fear of heights. At least, she thought she did. She had never had the opportunity to ask herself if she did before this.
But it was so very thrilling all at the same time. She gasped as she took in the view from above and twisted and turned so she could see everything. "The lake is so beautiful!" she told him happily. "And just think how easily you could find food this way!"
As always, her practical streak had to make itself known.

Nywele looked towards the lake as she mentioned its beauty to him. "Yes, I find all of the pride's land very breath taking." The wind blew about them, he lifted a bit higher to make sure they were in a good spot away from sharp wind currents. "That's my practical thinking Beybanu. You know its like we complete each oth....." Nywele huffed a bit not finishing his sentence feeling a little embarrassed of his brashness. "Sorry to act like I was mad at you..to be truthful you did upset me, but I confess as a god I still have much to learn about mortal ways." Nywele said looking her in the eyes. "I brought you up here cause the freedom of the air always comforts me, I hope it may do the same for you, if not at least let you see the pride through my eyes."

She was silent for a second before speaking. "Thank you," she said honestly. "This is how the Vizier is seeing the pride now, as well, I would like to believe. It's far more beautiful up here than it is down there."
A tear fell, then another, until she was silently sobbing, pressed up against his heart as they flew high above the world.

Ah there it was! What his banu truly needed for them to be able to truly move into their relationship. She needed to grieve and even though it was sad for Nywele to hear and watch he felt like there was a great weight lifting from the air around them.
"Yes I am sure that is how he sees us and you. I'm sure he watches over us all even as you and I fly here and now." Nywele held Amani tight leaning his chin on her head to try and comfort her. Time seemed to pause where they were even as it passed on the world below. Nywele would wait until Amani was ready before he said anymore.

She gave a little watery smile, deeply glad she had cried, but feeling guilty at the same time. "I did not want," she said with a childish sniffle, "you to feel as if you'd been tied to a rain cloud. I was a gift of thanks, and I should--" she sniffled again, "act as a gift should and--and be happy. And I AM happy," she added, feeling silly. "I'm very, very happy, but--"
Tears started falling again, as her emotions conflicted. "I am very sad, as well. Two precious people to me were gone in--in an instant."

"No Amani. You may have been given as a gift, but I do not wish you to act as one. As my Beybanu I wish you to be more like the mates I know about. The ones in the rest of this world where there is only one male to one female. I want you to be close to me and truthful with everything from your sadness to your anger. Don't mistake this as permission to break rules and such, but when we are alone I want you to be you. The only thing that was upsetting me is I could tell you were denying yourself of what you really needed." Nywele was being totally truthful he needed this from her. Even though he loved and agreed with the pride's ways something made him feel like he was breaking some sort of law. He hoped having his beybanu be open and truthful would help him forget this feeling.
"There is a life time to for us to be happy my Amani, now is the time for you to cry, for you to be sad. It is still fresh and if you keep it in just to make me happy it will eat away at you. I do not know much about mourning but I do know about emotions and they are never something you should deny yourself." Nywele replied softly to Amani.

"Thank you," she said quietly, rubbing against him. "I really needed to hear that." She was silent, watching the beautiful scenery for a long moment. "I feel better," she admitted. "Much better knowing that the vizier has such a beautiful view now. He was always looking for the better view, you know? That's why we went on such a long journey, to see if things were more beautiful over the next horizon. Now he can see it all."

Nywele flapped his wings pausing longer between it flap allowing them to slowly drop downwards. Soon the ground was getting closer and closer. "Thank you for trusting me enough to show your other side." Nywele as his paws touched the ground and he gently placed her down as well. "I would wager he has an even better view then I could ever hope to have." Nywele said smiling gently. "If you ever want to fly again my beybanu do not hesitate to ask. Now why don't we take a walk and see if we can't find some things to help brighten up our home." Nywele asked giving her a goofy look trying to lighten the mood.

"I would like that," she told him, smiling up at him. "Both the flight and the walk," she added, rubbing against him lovingly. "You, my pad, are a very, very talented male. And I might take advantage of that during the dry season," she added, growing cheerful with the thought. "We can hunt down herds from the sky!"

Nywele lovingly and gently bumped his head to her's. "I love how practical you are my beybanu. Hunting the herds from the sky sounds entertaining." He started to move forwards but he stopped looking around for a moment. "Which way shall we head. Perhaps you know a good place to head to?" The god asked looking forwards to the day he knew the lands a bit better.
