Finally, freedom! There was simply too much estrogen within his family, and he often found it stifling to remain within the presence of his sisters and his mother at all times. Sure, he loved his family. But having three yapping females about him at all times? It put a damper on his male pride, to say the least. He liked to think of himself as his father's son, and liked to copy him at times. So when Ezriel managed to take a break from the family, Ukulwa reasoned that it was his right to take one as well.
His mother hadn't approved at first. But she hadn't wanted to be the sort of mother that smothered her children with attention and worry, so she reluctantly let him wander off. Yet it seemed that his enthusiasm was short lived, as the god's haven appeared rather bland. It was all ice and white, and he couldn't fathom why anyone would want to live here permanently. His mother had told him that it remained a safe place for gods, away from the mortal world, and that she didn't think anyone lived here year-round. The only reason she was keeping her cubs there was because she wanted them to grow stronger before venturing out into the wide expanse of the mortal realm.
"Hmph, I could take on any challenge!" he cried out to the stillness around him. He growled and spread his wings wide, to prove a point. Yet he was still a little cub. Nearly everything was bigger than he, and he still hadn't quite discovered his true strength and power.
"I wonder if I could go to the mortal world now," he mused aloud, trying to get rid of the silence that seemed to constantly haunt the god's haven. Having never even seen the mortal world, however, Ukulwa was rather at a loss when it came to finding a way down. Maybe he could get his mother to talk about it, in a story or some such, and in that way figure out the way down. He'd be sneaky about it, and she'd never suspect a thing!
Quite satisfied with himself, he sat upon his haunches and lifted his head high. He truly was his father's son, cunning and dangerous. At least, that's what he believed. "Nothing can stop me!" he roared, wings flapping rather uselessly. Such a silly cub was he.

It wasn't long before the red cub became bored with his own antics. He huffed and slunk down, no longer sitting up straight. Oh, how his mother would have a fit! But that only made it better. He grinned and sank lower, eventually lying on his belly. Then, like the little cub he was, he rolled onto his back and squirmed, as if he had a terrible itch. His paws flailed about in the air and his wings remained closed to his body so as to not become ruffled.
In the next moment, he was back upon his belly, his chains rattling from the movement. The spikes on his tail flexed as his claws sheathed and unsheathed. He was bored again. Yet that was when he heard a rather loud thud not too far off. Instantly he was upon his paws, eyes narrowed in the direction of another god cub.
Tilting his head quizzically, it took him a moment to register that this was another immortal. He had been up here with nobody but his family for his whole life, and it was hard to imagine anyone else living in the haven. She looked kinda silly as well, as she had armor that covered only half of her face. It didn't even have holes for her eye! At least his father's was a real mask, and Ukulwa himself had armor on his forelegs. What use was this half a shield?
"Hey!" he called, not sounding very friendly. "What are you doing?"

Ukulwa watched as the other cub attempted to find her bearings after having seemingly fallen from the air. He wondered fleetingly how she could fly already, when his wings couldn't support his weight, but shook the thoughts from his head. He wasn't about to become jealous of a girl. He had more pride than that, just like daddy.
Yet when she suddenly snapped at him and was rude, amber eyes narrowed and blazed with hatred. He had an incredibly short temper, and he wasn't in the mood for getting lip from some female. The claws on his forepaws flexed and dug into the white of the ground as he glared at her.
"Not to get a snippy attitude from you, that's what," was his short reply. He got enough of that from his two sisters. Outlaws and Vigilantes, two very rambunctious and rule-breaking domains. Their mother attempted to keep them in check, but there was only so much she could do in order to keep back their strong personalities.
"What's your problem, anyways?" he growled, tail lashing from side to side.
