Smoking

Not just cigarettes, but marijuana and hookah as well.
(And other things you can smoke that are not coming to mind.)

I'm just curious though, does anyone do it?

I was thinking about it since I tried hookah for the first time tonight.
My friends seemed to delight in "corrupting me"
(They all had to watch as I took my first hit)
I've tried all three mentioned but do none on a regular basis.
(Only when a friend offers, really. Except cigarettes, I do not enjoy those.)
But smoke in general really doesn't bother me.
Hookah was really fun because the smoke is thick and you can just watch it curl and twist.
(A friend who's tried it before said if it's really thick you can play with it)
My step-brother is a smoker and I just associate the smell of smoke with him, though the cigarettes he smokes smell different, more earthy.
Not real acrid like regular cigarette smoke.

Opinions on smoking?
Do you smoke?
Anything?
I feel like we've had this topic before but I can't remember anymore.

I'm personally against smoking - I see it as pointless, unhealthy and gross, but that's just me.
That said nowadays so many of my friends smoke fags and weed that it doesn't bother me, really. I can sit in a smoky room not too bad. back when i had asthma it really pissed me off

I was about to wonder why someone else was up at 2:30AM on a school night.
(Not the smartest idea but I somehow feel that I'll be more awake if I just stay up rather than even trying to sleep)

Yeesh, asthma does not get along with smoking.
I've got a friend with asthma.
She can't stand smokers.
(Though other than it pissing off her asthma she doesn't mind them.)

Not all that fond of cigarettes,
A large part of my friend group used too smoke
and I used to be really sensitive when it came too smokes, they keept making me break out into extrememly bad coughs that sort feelt like I was trying too hack up my innards.
Which was extrememly uncomfterable.
But these days they don't irratate my lungs as bad so I don't mind them.
I find it silly to start smoking, but I honestly don't mind it when people so just as long as they arent smoking them inside puplic places.

Although the fact that my brother and his wife smoke like chimneys bothers me all too hell, since they have 3 children from ages 1-3 and the oldest had some breathing proplems when he was younger that could have been related too the fact that his mom did not stop smoking while pregnant (and she did not stop for the other 2 eiter. Nor did my brother)

They're good parents but I really don't think you should be smoking when someone pregnants in the house.

The only thing I've tried smoking recently was when my sister, me and my grandma tried together some apple topacco that my sister brought home from Egypt.

I think my grandma missunderstood what we were smoking since she keept giggling and acting like she was feeling slightly high.

I don't b/c I don't like the smell and it's unhealthy for my body.
My sister can't stand the smell of cig smoke and coughs if she comes near someone smoking so it's bad for her too. So I wouldn't do it anyways. 3nodding

Yeah it gets me twitchy if people smoke around kids much.


When i'm round rping at my mate's house the sheer amount fo smoking is crazy though. It's a wonder i don't get high off teh secondary smoke -haha


It was great when the smoking ban was implemented over here (for public places) i no longer leave pubs stinking to high heaven of fags. (that stuff never leaves your clothes)

I just tried it once to try to understand the appeal of it.
I didn't see it at all.
That really sucks they smoke around their kids though.
Any way of convincing them to stop or at least do it outside?

Friends are big smokers?
You aren't allowed to smoke inside restaurants and public places, except for casinos around here.
You can smoke outside all you want though.
(Except on school property)

Not all school property. My college allows it, but I know only workers were allowed in high school and the like (course it was illegal for kids to smoke, but that usually don't stop them.)
Wouldn't you know most of the people I talk to in college all smoke? I don't personally, but I'm around it a lot. My aunt goes through about three packs a day... sigh...

Because private property can do whatever they want about smoking as long as they aren't allowing smoking in a restaurant.
I think it's mostly up to high school since it's illegal for most people until after high school.

I don't smoke cigarettes or marijuana because I grew up in a household where the stuff was in abundance and I've seen the effects they both have on people. I'm not a fan and do not ever plan on trying either one of them. I don't care if someone smokes so long as they don't do it around me. Marijuana on the other hand, I am completely against and do not want to associate with people IRL who do that kind of thing.

Because I was forced to be exposed to that as a young child and then again through my teenage years. It wasn't very pleasant and I don't like the effects it has on the people around me. It's one of the reasons my parents seperated .... among other things. rolleyes

It's a public college. I've been in both, but the private college I went to have only certain areas where you could smoke. Not here in the public one. You can smoke just about anywhere on campus as long as it's outside. But there are not that many laws about smoking and stuff down here. People still smoke in resturants and businesses and stuff. *cough, cough* rolleyes
