Ukoo had just stormed out of the den with fury blowing in her ears. She was so furiously upset and disgusted and this big thunder and rain storm didn't scare her. She wasn't afraid at all of the sounds and the water coating her fur. She was just so so so upset.
Uggi was not old enough to be taken away yet. It wasn't Tariqs right to take her away and give her to the sultan. It wasn't his RIGHT. She was bawling her eyes out, stomping through the storm. She had ignored Tariqs pleads to not go into the storm, but she had escaped him easily. She didn't want to see him or even hear him.
She wanted her child back. It wasn't fair. She had stopped running, panting and dripping wet... oh boy...

This weather was no good. It wasn't good for him, and it certainly wasn't good for Jasiri! He fretted often now, worried for the safety of his headstrong mate and the cubs she carried inside her. She'd calmed but...well, 'Siri had always been a proud girl. So when they'd stumbled on the border of a pride, Dahabu had managed to find a good hiding place for his mate, somewhat sheltered from the elements, while he went on ahead. Perhaps they would let them rest for a night or two, let them wait out the storm. Maybe even let them wait out his mate's pregnancy before they continued on their search.
He knew Jasiri wanted him to go on, to keep looking for Ukoo...but he couldn't leave his lovely mate alone! It just wasn't right! No matter how much he wanted to see his mother.
His ears perked as he spotted a form in the rain. "Hello!" A simple call, but it took all he could muster to be heard over the thunder and rain and wind.

Ukoo was tired and alone and so upset she could barely keep her head. She sat, with her mug hanging sadly in the rain. How could Tariq do this to her, he had taken more and more and now he had crossed the line. She wanted nothing to do with him. He didn't care about his cubs, all because they weren't O'teps. What was he going to do with the rest of them? Give them away too.
She sobbed, her crimson eyes burning from it. The pain was too much for her.
She lifted her head, she thought she heard something. She lifted her head, vaguely seeing someone not far away. She was frightened... a stranger!
"H-hello..."

Dahabu approached cautiously, as much aware he was in an unfamiliar place as he was fighting against the rain. There was something familiar about the stranger's voice. He stopped a few feet away from them, and squinted. A lioness and...how odd. The rain didn't help matters but...she looked vaguely like...
Blood-colored eyes widened and his mouth hung open a little. Was it...? Did he dare to hope? "Mother?"

Ukoo couldn't see very well with the lights and the rain but something also triggered inside the small lioness, smaller than him now... he used to be so small. She shook her head, not sure what she was thinking until he spoke and the words echoed in her ears like the thunder above them. "Dahabu!" She said softly, her ears flattening as she stepped forward. No, this was a trick from the gods. Her child, whom she was taken away from so early...
"Dahabu..." She repeated his name, stepping closer. She could smell him now, see him. "D-d-dahabu!" She began to quicken her pace until she was too him and she was seeking him with her nose and paws. Her son, her missing son. She regretted not being able to see her cubs grow.

His mother! His beautiful, kind mother! Dahabu nuzzled her, not minding the fact they were drenched at all by now. His mother! His search had come to an end! "Mother...I've missed you so much!" He drew back enough to look her over. What sort of things had she been through, what sort of life had she had?
"Jasiri and I left to come look for you. I...I would have come sooner, but I couldn't leave her behind." At first he'd thought it was because he wasn't strong enough alone...but he'd come to realize it was because he loved Jasiri, as much as his mother, but in a different way. "So much has happened, Mother..."

Ukoo nodded, tears streaming down her racooned face, her red eyes staring up at her strong, beautiful son. "Jasiri!! You are with her still, Oh Dahabu..." She pressed herself against him, shaking. "You found me... I thought I would never see you again... I couldn't tell where I was or how to get home, I wasn't awake when he took me so... I was lost once again!"
She pressed her face against him tightly. The smell of him, it reminded her of her old pride. The scar on her neck was healed over and pink, evidence that it was not apart of her job anymore. "Dahabu... so much indeed. You will have to meet your siblings-" She paused, and pressed her face against him trembling.

He nodded, then nuzzled her again. "I am still with her. I...I love her, Mother. A great deal. And she's grown up and settled...She's carrying my cubs. I came on ahead, to seek refuge for us through the storm."
His mother's next words astonished him. "Siblings?" He...he had more siblings? "I would love to meet them, Mother." Siblings! And they were bound to be beautiful, just like his mother!

Ukoo smiled. She was going to be a grandmother. These words filled her chest with happiness. She looked up at him, her crimson eyes so similar to his. "Children... Oh Dahabu... I am so glad..." But she was pregnant and out and about... that was dangerous. "You need shelter? My pride has shelter!" She said reassuringly, she didn't care if they would kill her for it. And Tariq wouldn't like it...
"Yes... many little cubs... all except Uggi, she is with the sultan..." She said softly, the pain still tickling her heart. "I am apart of a harem... My master, my Pad sired cubs with me... I love them... I can't wait for you to see them... and I can't believe I am seeing you!"

His heart felt much lighter. Not only had he found his mother, but his mother's home had shelter for he and Jasiri! It...was a great relief. "Thank you...we do need it."
He frowned at the sadness in his mother's voice. He...would ask later. When they weren't out in the cold rain and wind. "I shall see them, Mother. And..." He started for where he'd hidden Jasiri. "Oh Mother, have they treated you well?" He remembered his mother's place in the Mwana-a'lela, and he couldn't help but hope she'd found something better for herself.

Ukoo gazed her her grown son and wondered if she'd see her other two children ever again. She smiled. "And if anyone says anything, Tell them your my son... they will understand." She said. She smiled again. "Yes... very well. I am no longer a blood slave. I am simply, apart of a harem. My master has many wives but am not required to shed blood or anything like that... I am just simply meant to listen and obey... not so bad.... I rather like it. I have sisters whom I share the den with and I am fond of them... at least I was..."
She paused for a moment. "Where is Jasiri... we should get her proper shelter..." She said, nodding her head.

All seemed well indeed. He was glad his mother was well-treated now. Though...the 'was' at the end worried him. Perhaps she and her 'sisters' had a falling out? If so...well, Dahabu hoped they resolved their issues.
"She's this way. I found a place that would offer her some shelter from the elements while I found a better place for us." He picked up his pace just a bit...anxious to see his mate better sheltered from the elements, and to show her their journey had come to an end.

Ukoo bobbed her head at him, padding behind him quietly. Right now, despite the hecticness at home den, she was happy. It was so good to see her cub... one that she thought she would never see again. She didn't care if she had disobeyed her master and he very well may beat her for it, but it was worth it. Her baby was coming home with her and this made her happy.
"I believe there are a few empty den sites but if there isn't I will ask my Pad to allow you two shelter for the night, until the rain stops." She said softly, her red eyes glimmering in the moon light.

Dahabu nodded, a smile on his muzzle. Damn the rain! It didn't matter it was raining, he had his mother! His search was over! "Thank you, Mother." Ah! They approached the place Dahabu had found for Jasiri. "Jasiri! We've a place to get out of the rain, and I found Mother!"

Jasiri looked up at Dahabu's voice, still rather soaked despite the half cover of the old trees and stones. She blinked as his words sunk in, then she stood and smiled. "Really?! That's...wow! Talk about luck kicking in." She approached her mate and his mother, still light on her feet despite her swollen belly. "It's...good to see you again, Ukoo. Well...as best one can see in weather like this."
