Kifaranga hated doing what she was told. She had tried not talking at all and it only made Kwea angry with her. Which only seemed to make her life harder. She would barely eat and would fail at hunting on purpose, but this rebellion was getting old. Kwea had aloud Kifa to go on a short walk, she met this lioness named Amani. She spoke some sense, perhaps if one could not get away they should make the best of it.

Kwea slept heavily and ever so slowly, Kifa wiggled herself from under his paw. She couldn't surprise him with something if she was always under his paw. It was time he learned to trust her since at this point she was starting to give up on the fantasy of running away. Besides she had to admit she liked getting the undivided attention of a male.

Kifa's soft paws lead her out of their den, it was almost thrilling to be out and about without permission. She ran towards the hunting grounds Kwea had showed her. Once there she picked out some plump prey just for Kwea. She still felt to depressed to eat much and was not a morning eater anyways. Putting her real skills to work she took down the small antelope and began to drag it back to their den. Kifa did not believe in eating inside the den, it made to much a mess. Her claws and teeth ripped the pelt clean off the meat of her prey. She dragged the pelt to a rock to tan on, she had a little skill in crafting though it was nothing to brag about. She would wait for it to dry more before working to get all the access flesh off.

Now how was the perfect way to let her pad know that she was awake. Part of her said to sing, another said to wake him personally, but the all to powerful rebellious side told her to wait for him outside and so she did just that.

Although he did not notice Kifa leaving him the sounds she made outside his den started to waken him from a soggy half dream. he often had the same dream, the dream ha had clung to since he was a cub, it made him angry when this dream resurfaced and the fact that hsi one Banu was stubborn as a mule to him made him even more grumpy.

The noises that echoed through his dark cavern were quickly followed by the scent of blood, of meat, breakfast? He felt almost confused as he rose from his bed of grasses and the odd pelt he had bothered to strip from the beasts he culled.

Still, that was definitely the scent of blood and when his bloody red maned head emerged from the cave he was almost surprised to find Kifa proudly standing over kill she had skinned for him. He quickly shook away the thought and strode up to the small antelope, feeling proud that she had fetched him such a prize "This, is very good Kifa. I see you are finally learning." He moved to the beautiful lioness and licks her forehead before turning his back on her and settling in to the kill she had fetched him.

he felt a proud little flicker in his heart that she had finally accepted he was in charge "Won't you sing while I eat Kifa? You know I adore your voice." He purrs forgetting the fact that she had left without his permission for the moment. It was just so nice to be fed without having to give an order he could forgive ehr little slip.

Kifa actually smiled a bit as he licked her forehead at the same time what he said made her sigh inwardly. It was hard to pretend everything was her choice when he said things like that. Would he always treat her like she was brainless? Would he ever talk to her, more then just to tell her orders?

She watched him lay down to the breakfast she had brought for him. Before she began to groom the blood from herself, she hadn't had a chance to before he had awakened.

The next request made her shudder just slightly, she really did hate singing one cue. She closed her eyes and pictured herself back at home with her sister. Kifa curled her tail around herself before opening her eyes again. She really couldn't think of any song to go with breakfest but she went with a song she had heard once before.
" Come on Milord, sit down at my table. It's cold outside.I know you very well but you never saw me.I'm just a girl of the savanna, a shadow under a tree. I met you yesterday with your girl, a beautiful girl with soft eyes but no heart. Today she left you for another male. And now you are alone, too bad, she didn't love you. Oh, come on Milord, sit down at my table. It's cold outside.Look at me Milord, you never saw me.
But what happens, Milord? You cry! I'd never have believed it. Oh, come on Milord, smile at me.Sing with me, dance with me. Bravo, Milord! Encore Milord!"

Licking his lips Kwea stops eating and sits up, his brow furrows though the crease in his forehead almost looked like it was confused, it wans't quite an angry furrow and certainly wasn't a sad, it was almost a frustrated movement of his brows.

"Why those words?" He asks, his blood red eyes fixed on the pretty little lioness, the words she sang stung his heart in a way her other songs hadn't. Perhaps the little lioness even believed that he didn't listen to her words, he did, he just chose to ignore them usually as they were normally singing about silly things like freedom, she had freedom, or so he felt.

He moves closer to the little lioness licking the blood from his chin, he looks down at her retraining the odd feeling which nearly made his voice tremble "Why those words Kifa?"

Kifa looked taken a back, first off she really did believe he never listened, second she did not know what had upset him. She went over the words in her head and blinked not able to get a connection. "For once there was no hidden meaning, Kwea....." She flattened her ears really not sure what emotion he was showing her. Kifa just guessed it was anger again she closed her eyes and tilted her head down not sure what to expect from him. "I'm...sorry if I have offended you. I was trying to be good today...."

Kwea takes a quick, sharp breath calming himself down, she hadn't meant anything by the words, they were just words spurted from the silly little thing. She was more like a bird than a lioness. Brain like a grape. He grunts and shakes his head.

"Nothing, you didn't offend me." He snorts laying back down at the kill. "You've been very good today Kifa. I am very pleased." He smiles a pleased smile, casting away the words she had spoken. "I am very pleased with your progress my lovely little bird" He states turning his attention back to his meal and letting his mind mull over her words. Did the lioness know that he had been left by his own mother? Was that why she had sung the song?

No, she just sang because she could, her words meant nothing, as they always did.

Kifa blinked her eyes opened and watched him with a questioning brow. What was that all about if it didn't offend him? This was going to drive her crazy she could not think of a reason for him to have been upset by her song. It was a nice song, a sweet song, the first song she had song that was supposed to be slightly romantic. "I am glad to have pleased you....My pad may I speak with you?" Kifa's tail twitched showing she was bothered by this whole situation. She wanted to just strait out ask him and talk about it, but so far he didn't like her to speak out of turn. He would learn though, he would let her speak to him normally if this was to ever work between them. He would let her know when he was upset and she would fix it. That's what a relationship was like right?

((hey hunny I am so sorry for the late reply! I have been insanely busy with uni & moving house, I'm gunna be more afkish over the next week or so but soon as I come back properly we can rp loads okies <3))

Kwea looks deeply thoughtful for a moment, considering if he was going to allow her to speak, was she allowed to ask him a question? He gives a nod. "You may speak Kifa, what is it?" He replies simply, his blood red eyes taking her in watching her irritated tail flick. He felt quite pleased that she was being obedient, calling him her pad, finally she had decided to submit, he was very pleased with that but her confusion and clear irritation at his reaction to her song, was a little annoying. It was his prerogative to be annoyed by her, she had no right to be irritated.

Ah so putting things a certain way did help. She nodded thinking of just the right way to ask something. "Thank you my pad. Please explain to me why my words upset you? I wish to avoid doing so again, but if I do not know the reason I can not hope to avoid doing it again. To me the song is about a girl that went unnoticed by the man she liked. He was with another woman, but that woman left him because she didn't really care for him. The first girl who is the one singing is letting him know that she is there for him. She cares for him and wants to make him feel better and forget that the other girl left. I thought it was a sad but sweet song...."

((yay back from enforced hiatus!))

Kwea's tail flickers, should he allow her her question? She wasn't out of line to find out what had annoyed him. He contemplated if he should get angry, simply cuff her for asking a question he didn't want to answer.

"No female should ever leave a male." He replied returning to his meal, why should he explain to her that his own mother had left him? Why should he explain to her that he would never let her go and that her wont to escape only angered and irritated him. "Do not sing about females leaving their males. I do not like it." He grumbles, it wasn't that he ignored the second part of the song, the male received another female, younger nicer, but the female that had left in the first place, she never should have walked away from him, his mother never should have left him. "Never THINK of being that first female Kifa, I will not allow it."

Kifa narrowed her eyes a bit but it was not in an angry manner, something was just not quite right. "....This I can do for you.." She said walking about a bit while watching Kwea eat. Her eyes softened a bit there was something about him that was growing on her. She couldn't quite put her claw on it though.

Drifting into thought for a moment she wondered what made this male so afraid of being left alone. She jumped at the forcefulness in Kwea's tone as he demanded this of her. "I miss what I had...and you are mean to me, but I haven't much hope of returning....and ....." She snorted flattening her ears in a sudden defiance even she couldn't believe what she was thinking. Just as quickly though she softened. "...Ive gotten used to you and have no escape plans." Kifa snorted a bit and looked away from him. In truth she enjoyed the security she had around him. Even if she did hate the way he treated her and the fact that she would never see her family again. "A song to forget the other song?" Kifa said finally looking back to Kwea. She felt herself wishing he would smile or tell her something about himself other than males rule all. Would this be her life? Tip toeing around him? Or could she get him to change a little?

Having eaten his fill the bloody maned male licks his lips, grooming away the blood from his pale lips, his mind was clearly ticking over this 'new' Kifa, this change of heart she seemed to be having towards him. Gotten used to him? That was hardly the endearment he wanted, he wanted adoration, love? He didn't know what he wanted but he didn't just want 'gotten used to' from Kifa.

Striding over to her, he wraps his bulky body around her, engulfing her in his mane and thick set muscles. "Yes, sing me a nice song, something to digest by, something to nap by." He grumbles a sort of friendly growl pulling her to the ground his forelegs wrapped firmly around her, holding her firmly, yet not aggressively against his form. "Sing me a lullaby Kifa, My Kifa."

Kifa shivered a bit as he wrapped around her. In truth she was still afraid of him. Even though she was trying to look for his other side, she couldn't help but see the male that attacked her. She closed her eyes and tried to forget it. She was here by choice, yes that's right. With this though she wiggled slightly making herself comfortable against him. Kifa tried to find comfort in his warmth and it was starting to work.

"Hmmm...." She pondered for a moment wanting to make sure there was no way for him to find fault in the song. "Good morning starshine! The earth says hello. You twinkle above us, we twinkle below. Good morning starshine! You lead us along. My love and me as we sing, our early morning singing song!

Gliddy gloop gloopy, nibby nobby nooby,la la la lo lo.
Sabba sibby sabba, nooby abba dabba,le le lo lo.
Dooby ooby walla! Dooby abba dabba! Early morning singing song!

Good mornin' starshine! There's love in your skies! Reflecting the sunlight,in my lovers eyes! Good morning starshine so happy to be. My love and me , as we sing, our early morning singing song!!!" Kifa twisted a bit as she finished the song. She starred at Kwea with eyes that were searching for approval. At this moment she really wasn't minding being here. Maybe she could learn more then just to accept being here.

The big male smiles and though his eyes were already closed he nodded a quick nod of approval tightening his grip around her for a moment in an almost-hug instead of just his possessive hold over her. "Thats very nice Kifa." he whispers.

A yawn stretches his maw and her rests his head around her shoulders using her as a pillow. "Yes, I like that song." he sighs his bulky weight relaxing. "Now, sleep." He smiles "when we wake up you can sing to me again." A quick smirk stretches his maw as he relaxes, he wasn't sure exactly why Kifa had, had a change of heart, but he was certainly liking having a little song bird in his cage.

Kifa smiles just a bit from the approval she received before laying her head down. When he mentioned sleep she sighed a bit. She wasn't really in the mood to sleep, but if that's what he wants he would get it. Kifa closed her eyes and tried to relax, hoping to drift into sleep, but in the silence her stomach suddenly growled. She hadn't eaten yet, but she could wait till later.
