A coward. The word stung as it cycled around his head, agitating him more and more he thought about it. She knew he had been sensitive about the word and calling him that so why the hell did she do it?! His paws took him farther and farther away from the safety of the den and pride circle. Did he care though, no, certainly not. They all thought him a clumsy coward, his mothers’ fortune like spit on his face.
Pulling his body up and over a dune his light blue eyes stared out towards the vast dessert soaking up the scenery and anything that happened to dot it, which wasn’t much at all. One thing did happen to stick out however, a large skeleton of some poor animal, picked clean by vultures and time.
Should he go there? Turning his back to it to stare out to where he had come from he frowned. It had definitely been a ways away; he could hardly make out any of the pride members. Though… wasn’t that a good thing?
Making up his mind the little black firekin cub raced towards his new found treasure, the burn of word still fresh in his mind but the sense of adventure winning him over. Hell, maybe the adventure would help him forget the little fight he had with his sister ending with the dirty word. Running toward the creature his face slowly lit up, would he make that another one of his bases to hide at? Or perhaps figure out what the creature used to be before it ended up a sand monster?

After she'd called her brother a name, Seide had thought little of it. It had been a tease, a poke of fun, just to see what he would do. Older now, and testing much more, An had given Moto'Seide a taste of confidence. One that was likely not healthy for her siblings, but a confidence all the same.
When she'd noticed her brother missing, she knew it insantly, that he'd gone off to prove that he wasn't a coward. Well, she just had to see this, and when she located the paw-prints, she'd set off after him at a moderate trot.
By the time she'd caught him, Fariwuta was already racing towards something. Instantly, Seide was interested. What was it? Important information? An awesome monster? Was he running in fear?
She slunk along on her legs, crouched down as though stalking prey and made her way towards her brother in the gloom. Halfway there, she changed her mind.
He was occupied. So much, in fact, that Moto'Seide was struck with the brilliance that every cub had. Taking it slow at first, she oriented herself in a position to run down, and then she let her legs loose. Sand flying in all directions, she leapt when she was sure she was close enough and soared - at least in her mind - in the direction of her brother.
"Raaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaawr," she snarled - of course it was a snarl! - all the way through the jump, hoping to shake her brother up a bit.
