It had been a busy few days for Sewti. She'd found a pregnant lioness, and a mother and son covered in fleas, all of whom had decided to stay in the lands. That was more than had come to their lands in months combined. She wasn't one to complain though - the lands were fruitful and welcoming and it pleased Nili and his family to have new members.
Lounging on the beach yet again, Sewti was contemplating everything that had happened. It was something she was good at - lounging and thinking. It was only the thought that she didn't hear Kisi squawking anywhere near her that made her push herself to her feet. Where had that hoofed brat gotten to?
"Kisi?" she called out, shaking her head and sending a flurry of sand everywhere. With no answer meeting her she frowned and started towards the main part of the pride. When Nili was off being busy with his song keeper duties, Kisi was often her only company.

Idril was stretched out in a sunny patch near the beach. She'd rolled onto her back to allow for maximum sun exposure to her belly. She'd even made certain that Moqui knew not to wander too far off before she'd slipped away for her nap.
But sleep wouldn't come, so she spent the time thinking. THis place was certainly welcoming. It was comfortable, easy going and no one looked askance at her for anything. Quite frankly, to Idril's way of thinking, this was paradise. Or it would have been had an agitated voice not broken through her musings. Cracking open an eye, she saw the lioness who'd greeted her.. Sewti? yes, Sewti not too far off. She was frowning, which couldn't have been a good sign. Oh bother.
Rolling to her own feet, she shook herself languidly and ambled over to the other lioness.
"Problems?"

Despite her small problem, Sewti had a smile to greet Idril as she saw her coming. Sewti always had a smile to greet nearly anyone - at least anyone in the pride.
"Yeah, I suppose," she admitted, her smile a little strained before it finally faded back into its frown. She tried not to be a babysitter, but Kisi really was terrified of lions she didn't know and could act irrationally around them. With all the new lions coming into the pride she wasn't sure if that would bode well for her attitude. "I lost my Klipspringer," then, after a moment she amended with, "er, my muse."
She let her tail flicker slightly behind her as she turned and narrowed her eyes at the jungle, as if she expected the black and tan klippy to come barreling out any moment. "She's nervous around lions, especially when there are ones she doesn't know."

A missing klipsringer? For a moment, Idril had to wonder if Sewti was crazy. Then she remembered the rule about not hurting anyone within the prides' lands.
"Well, I've certainly not seen anyone other than yourself and my son today, so I'm afraid I can't really be of help there. But I can help you look if you like?"
Honestly, she didn't really feel like traipsing around to find a klipspringer she wasn't allowed to eat. But at the same time, it didn't seem right to just turn around and go back to her warm sandy wallow once she'd inquired as to Sewti's problems. Well, she couldn't sleep anyway, so might as well be useful.

On the one paw, having two sets of eyes would really help her find Kisi faster. On the other, her flighty little friend might take off if she saw another lioness coming after her. Sewti decided that she'd rather have help - after all, she was confident she could calm Kisi down or at least chase her down if she found her.
"If you could help, I'd be really grateful. I'm scared the nitwit is going to work herself into a tizzy and fall off the cliffs or something," she sighed and shook her head, flicking her tail in irritation as she nodded towards the jungle. "I guess we should start that way, since she's probably hiding in something out of the way."
She took a few steps and then turned back to look at Idril, waiting for her to fall into step with her. "Thanks a lot for this. Most of the lions here have muses from nature - mine happens to be an endless pain in the a** with four legs."

Smiling, Idril fell in and followed along. If she thought of this little snack as a sort of child, that Sewti felt responsible for, it didn't seem so strange to offer her help in searching.
"I assure you, it's not a problem. If she's someone you care about, having her fall off the cliffs in a panic is the last thing we want."
Though as they searched, Idril made a small mental note that if she found herself a muse, it wasn't going to be something that could run and hide if it felt nervous around strangers.

Sewti chuckled to herself, a very small one, at Idril's comment. "Oh, I don't know, you might want her to fall off of a cliff after you meet her," she had a smirk on her face as she said it. It was clear that her relationship with this 'muse' was an odd one. It was rare that she bothered to worry too terribly about her little companion, she actually spent most of her time bickering with her.
Sewti paused just before the line of the jungle, drawing in the scents around her, then broke through the foliage that made the barrier. She thought she had a wiff of the Klip's trail. "I think she might have just gone to this old tree she likes," her tail flickered behind her, "if she hasn't left already of course."
She pushed forward with only one small glance behind her, ready to hunt down her silly friend. Wouldn't Nili get a kick out of this later? "Sorry about all this, I do really appreciate it though." She called back over her shoulder to say it, pushing through the foliage and underbrush as she beat down a trail.

Idril wrinkled her nose with distaste as she pushed through the underbrush after Sewti. Clearly, muses were a lot of work to keep. Or maybe it was just one. She wasn't entirely certain yet.
"No, no," she murmured in response to Sewti's apoli-thanks. "It's really quite all right. I shall look at it as I am seeing more of the pride lands than I would have otherwise known about."
What she did not mention was that once Sewti's little friend was found, Idril was going to go get a bath and then go hide somewhere so she could nap.

Sewti smiled apologetically, then simply turned to face the jungle ahead of her. "Well, there's a lot to see so I guess that's one good way to look at it. It's easy to get lost in the jungle if you don't know your way around."
That said she began to concentrate on following the scent of her muse. The more she followed the scent, the more she was convinced the young Klip had gone to the old tree until finally she stopped bothering so much with the scent and simply followed her own paws.
"If I'm right, she should be just around this bend right he-""Oh, perfect!" came a shrieking voice, "I've been trapped here for hours and you bring some lioness that is probably going to try and make me lunch. Isn't this just peachy?" The owner of said voice was a small klipspringer sitting beneath an old tree - wait, no. She wasn't sitting there, she seemed to be tangled in a mess of vines."She's not going to eat you," Sewti said exasperatedly, flashing an apologetic smile towards Idril once more, "she came to help me find you. Good thing too, because look at the mess you've gotten yourself into." With a sigh the lioness walked forward towards the old tree, hovering over her small friend and staring at the mess of tangles. "How did you even manage to do this?" She was condescending, but probably only because the Klipspringer was still squawking at Sewti endlessly.
"Do you think you could help me rip these off?" It was directed at Idril, and the klipspringer began yapping furiously at the idea, but Sewti either didn't care or wasn't listening anymore. "Just ignore the bite-sized muse."

Idril eyed the klipspringer, as if sizing up how big of a mouthful she would be. Then, just to annoy the little snack, she said in a bored voice, "Huh, why would I want to eat her? She looks terribly stringy."
She winked at Sewti to let her know she was simply joking and then went to examine the tangle of vines. Well, the snack had certainly gotten herself well and truly tangled. Flexing her claws, she carefully snagged a vine near the beast's stomach and ripped through it.
"My pleasure to help, but if your little muse here isn't quiet and still, I'm going to end up clawing her by accident."

Sewti seemed terribly amused at the comment, chuckling to herself as she sat down next to her entangled muse. "I keep trying to tell her that she's not very appetizing, but she must take some kind of sick pleasure out of thinking that she's the best meal on earth." Sewti really did like to tease her unfortunate companion. They had a special relationship.
"Who are you calling stringy!" Kisi shouted irritably, struggling against her bonds as if she might jump up and run away - or maybe try and stomp on the other lion's paw. It was really up in the air. Only, as the other lioness came forward with unsheathed claws she could only freeze where she was. Her eyes widened and she suddenly became frozen in place. That warning didn't go unheard either.
"She looks like she's going to be a good little girl now," Sewti said with a small snort, then leaned over her muse to help the other white lioness with the work. Some of the vines were rather thick and a pain to cut through with claws, so Sewti had to lean down at least once to try and rip them away with her teeth. She was at least kind enough to do that part herself - Kisi probably would have fainted if Idril had.
"I think that's all of them," she murmured, pushing at the loosened vines and trying to get Kisi to stand. "You should thank the nice lioness, Kisi." She raised one brow, then threw a small smirk at her newest companion.
Kisi shifted, kicking her hoofed legs until she could rid her little body of all the vines. She threw an irritated glance up at the other lioness from where she lay, shifted it to her companion, then settled it back on Idril. "Thank You," she said with a clear grump to her tone.

For a moment, Idril considered being wicked and trying to pat Kisi on the head. But, sadly, she'd probably give the silly little beast a heart attack. So instead she simply smiled, made sure her teeth were visible and nodded graciously.
"Well, you're very welcome little one. Though perhaps you may want to consider not running off and getting into scrapes in the future."
The white lioness nodded to Sewti and couldn't help returning the smirk. Truly, this pride was an interesting place to be. She wasn't quite used to it, yet, but she liked it so far.

Kisi grumbled slightly, looking terribly uneasy, and shifted to stand. Then, eying the new lioness the whole time, she moved to sit beside Sewti like a grumpy child taking comfort from their mother.
Sewti took the whole thing in stride, still looking terribly amused by the whole situation. Then again, almost everything in the pride amused Sewti. As a mostly sane lioness in a pride full of crazies, every day brought something amusing.
"Thank you for the help," she spoke around a soft laugh, flicking her tail against the klipspringer just to annoy her, "even if my annoying muse is less than thankful. I know you didn't have to come and help me find her." She turned her gaze down onto the tan and charcoal prey animal. "I'm grateful, and I'm sure she is too, even if she's got a funny way of showing it."
She turned a smile back up to Idril, even as Kisi made small, protesting grumpy noises at her side.

She couldn't help it. The look on Kisi's face... Idril began to laugh and shake her head.
"Don't look so worried, little snack. I've no intentions of hurting you. ANd I am glad we found you safe, if a bit on the trapped side."
Then, turning her eyes to Sewti, the white lioness made a small sort of half-bow.
"It was no trouble at all. Really."
Honestly, too much more gratitude and Idril's ego would start puffing up unbearably.

"Snack! Snack!?" she squawked out, going from timid to.. not-quite-so-timid. She even took a little step forward and began to flutter her little stub of a tail in irritation. Regardless, the last bit of the sentence didn't fall on deaf ears, and she settled down slightly. Very slightly. She might have even been grumbling something that sounded suspiciously like gratitude.
Sewti batted her tail at her hoofed muse, tsking slightly in disapproval as she cut her a sidelong glance. Really, did the girl not have any manners? Coming from Sewti, that was saying something.
"Well, thank you all the same," she said as she dipped her head in turn. "I guess now that we've found and rescued the poor damsel, you can get back to.. whatever you were doing." She laughed as she realized that Idril, like most of the pride members, probably hadn't been doing much but lounging around. "I wouldn't want to keep you any longer, especially in such.. company." She cut a glance down at her muse, then rolled her eyes exaggeratedly - just for Idril's benefit.
