*note ~ Her cert says Hana, but this was her cub name. I am changing it to Kavaca, which means shell. Her muses are seashells.
Kavaca strolled the beach with purpose, her sharp gaze focused on the sand and the small, wonderful treasures hidden in the depths. They called to her with soft, whispering voices that swirled around her and tickled her mind and her heart. Every so often, she would pause and dig gently at the sand until she unearthed one of them. She bent her head low to listen and would either nod or chuckle and then bow before gently covering them again with sand and moving.
Seashells. They were her everything. Kava loved them with every fiber of her being. She'd begun hearing them at a young age and would spend all day on the beach, listening to and conversing with her new friends. As a cub, she'd done her best to try and bring back every shell she could find. However, she'd learned early on that she could not keep every shell. These days, every so often she would find one that she would add to her treasured collection. These were her closest companions and she would speak with them several times a day.
Recently, she'd begun to hear a strong voice, a little louder than the others. It always came from the direction of the beach. It asked her to find them, to search them out and find them. There was a shell on the beach that wanted to be found. Kava wasn't sure why this one was so loud compared to some of the others, but she knew she had to find it.
It was a more difficult task than she'd anticipated. It became harder to sift that voice through the hundreds of others she encountered on the beach. Still, she had hope that she would find that one shell and learn what knowledge it wished to impart to her.
For now, Kavaca needed a break. With a little sigh, she went in search of her favorite tree for a nap. It was a bit of a distance from the beach, closer to the border of the lands, but it was a quiet, lovely, and peaceful spot.

Kudha was new to this pride, the one called the Kizingo'zaa. He had been traveling to find his sisters...but this pride seemed so peaceful and serene, he wondered if he might rather stay here instead. They had welcomed him with open arms, and though they seemed a little odd, he had decided to stay a while and rest to recuperate his strength. He had traveled for so hard for so long...he deserved to rest.
And he had rested for many days, sleeping until he couldn't stand to sleep any longer. And then he had started exploring. He hadn't dared to venture too far, as he didn't know the area. But somehow, though he covered the same ground again and again, something about it always seemed different. Just gut instinct, he told himself. But something was calling him to somewhere, and whatever it was, it made him nervous. He wondered if the locals' oddness was contagious, but that was a question for another time.
As he curved around a bend, he spotted a little grove of trees, their branches covered with tiny buds. He smiled at the sight. Spring wasn't that far away. Soon the trees would be sporting new leaves, as Mother Nature turned the world into a glorious whirl of color. Thoughts of new life swirling through his mind, he chuckled warmly, settling himself around the base of a particularly gnarly tree. He still wasn't quite recovered, so he tired easily. This trunk would be the perfect place for a nap.

Kavaca blinked in surprise. Surely, her eyes were mistaken and she was seeing things. It wouldn't be the first time. She blinked a few times and shook her head, however, the sight did not change. Someone else was curled up beneath her tree. She crept a little closer to get a better view. She didn't recognize this lion at all. It wasn't one of her brothers or anyone she knew. That had to mean that this was one of the visitors to the pride.
How exciting!
Kava was a very easygoing lioness and she didn't feel annoyed at all by someone else curling up in her tree. After all, she didn't really have any claim to the tree and it really was a pleasant spot. She didn't blame the stranger at all. The only thing she was a little concerned about was the safety of her friends, the seashells. She would have to ask this male to be very careful so as not to injure himself or any of her treasured friends.
She stepped forward into sight and called out quietly.
"Hello there. I don't believe I've ever seen you here before."

Kudha pricked his ears at the sound of her voice. "Mmm, most likely not," he murmured, "since I've not been here but for a few days." He lifted his head from where it had been nestled against his front paws, wanting to get a look at the lioness-for it was definitely a female voice-that had spoken to him. She was pale, even paler than his sister, and her markings were different than any he had seen before. "I stopped here to rest, but...I rather like it here. If it weren't for my sisters, I think I might be tempted to stay." He grinned, but inwardly his worries for his lost sisters still churned within him. They had been separated when they all were cubs, and Kudha had never given up on finding them again.
Tearing his mind back to the present, he focused again on the lioness. "My name is Sikudhani, but most just call me Kudha. What may I call you?"
