Parisette was watching the pride quietly, as she was usually found doing when her father was not around. The young cub knew that she was lucky to be where she was, her lack of purple forever shunning her from being a noble, but she was not upset, she told herself, she was happy. She was still allowed to be near her father and her siblings, which was all that mattered.
She had to be careful though, she didn't like disturbing the nobles or aggravating anyone. The young cub had no idea that she was a higher class then she was, just because she was an attendant. Of course, her father wouldn't let her get into too much trouble, at least. A look of contemplation fluttered across her face and she slipped from her spot on a rock, spiraling down nearer to the other pridal members. An absent minded noble was walking past and she fell into step behind them. She grinned to herself, ducking low when they looked back, stepping aside when they tried to find what was watching them.
A few other members could see what she was doing, but made no move to stop her. The little cub smiled at them as she continued to stalk her unfortunate prey, the noble. Her heart pounded fiercely in her chest as adrenaline flooded through her veins, keeping her light on her feet. She had to bite back a giggle, her tail flicking eagerly behind her.

Zamba had been trying to edge closer to his father who was in deep conversation with another male about something although Zamba couldn't quite make out the words he was pretty sure they were talking tactics..or fighting...or battle arrangements! Or something exciting like that...
In any case he didn't seem to be having much luck in eves-dropping and was getting somewhat discouraged when he noticed a blue cub following after someone in a sneaky manner. Instantly interested in what seemed like a fun tactical game Zamba abandoned his post near his father to stalk the pair from the side, watching but not wanting to ruin the game in progress. He couldn't help but giggle slightly at the cubs antics - and the look on the lions face when they tried to figure out what was going on.

The young blue cub was enjoying her game, though she started to feel bad when the noble began to really freak out, trying to glance back all the time and seemed to be worrying as to why many of the other people were now smiling at him. She heard a small giggle as she ducked to one side when the noble glanced back, and she tried to find the noise. She spotted a purple cub, who appeared to be watching her game, and she grinned at him, glad that someone else found it amusing too.
When the noble spun around completely, Parisette dove under his legs and scrambled behind a random person nearby, using their larger body size to hide her from the now frustrated noble. Seeing nothing around, the noble stormed off and Parisette crawled out from behind the other creature. "Thank you!" She told the adult brightly, and moved away so that the others could go about their usual business.
She frowned, setting herself to one side so she didn't get in people's way as they walked. Now she had nothing to do, again. She sighed and glanced around, trying to spot something else to keep her amused. Her heart rate slowed as she sat there, making her mourn the loss of the adrenaline rush.

Zamba tried very hard to keep a straight face when the irritated noble stormed past, but he couldn't help but let out a small giggle as he passed earning him a bit of a glare. Deciding it would probably be best to make tracks before the noble recognized him and complained to his mother about her insolent children - regardless of Zamba's relative innocence in this case - he trotted off quickly down the path.
He hadn't gone far before he noticed the blue cub sitting alongside the pathway. He didn't know her but she looked kind of bored now that her game was over. Zamba could relate, sometimes here just wasn't much to do for cubs around here, veering off the path he skid to a stop beside the other cub. "Hey! That was really funny, My name's Zamba, whats yours?"

Parisette perked up when the other cub skidded to a stop beside her. She recognized him as the male who had laughed when she was playing her game. That meant he had a good sense of fun at least! His was purple though, did that make him a noble as well? Her blue coat made sure she could never be one, but she was still content with her place in the pride.
She grinned. "Hello Zamba!" She said brightly. "I am Parisette. Do you play games as well?" She was curious. Perhaps noble's cubs were too important to play? She hoped not. That would be rather boring if they didn't.

"Parisette is a pretty name" He told her truthfully, well for a girl anyways - Zamba didn't think he would have thought it so pretty had it been his name, or any other male cubs name for that matter. But it suited a girl. 'Of course I do!' He told her cheerfully "mostly with my siblings - though my mum can get testy about it once in awhile, Da don't care" At the mention of his mother Zamba shot a quick glance about, just to make sure Maua didn't catch him 'wasting time' as she would put it.
"Do you want to play something? Theres not much happening this morning, kinda boring around here" He asked with a hopeful hint in his voice.

The youth looked mildly surprised at the compliment, or what she saw as a compliment and shifted with a pleased look on her face. Her name was very important to her, after all! "Thank you, Zamba," she responded, almost shyly, though she continued on without a hint of hesitation, "your name is very nice too!"
She smiled brightly before glancing around as well. She wasn't sure why he had looked around, but with his offer to play, well, she needed to make sure Father did not want her! It would be bad of her to run away and play if he needed her for something. After all, she was his attendant! But her father was no where in sight, and Parisette glanced back at the other cub, grinning happily.
"Sure!" She agreed with ease. She glanced towards the other nobles who still moved around the place, before back at her new friend. "What do you want to play?" Her tail flicked behind her with child-like glee, happy to find another person to play with.

"Really?" He asked her with slight surprise in his voice - no one had ever really told him his name was nice before. They'd told his sisters sure, but never him. Maybe it was a girl thing and they thought he was too manly to hear it. Well he was manly thank you very much! But he still like to hear his name was nice too. "It means shadow" He told her "Mother says she named me that cause I kept crawling about after my father all the time as a tiny cub" he elaborated though it was probably unnecessary.
Tipping his head slightly he contemplated what to play, if it was Nyota he'd give her another fighting lesson and if it was one of his other sisters they'd just drag him into one of their crazy girl games and try to make his hair lay perfectly and the like. Zamba hoped Parisette wasn't like that but after watching her follow the noble about like that he didn't think she was. "hmm, well theres hide and seek...or tag...or well I don't know really, my sisters all play lame games" He admitted.

Parisette grinned at his surprise and at the meaning of his name, giggling a little at the reason his mother had told him. "I like that meaning! Are you still like a shadow now?" She asked, sounding curious but playful. It was a slight tease, but she was curious too, was he a good shadow, did he play games with the nobles like she did? It would be fun if they could both play that game, but she didn't want to annoy the nobles too much, not when Father had told her to behave. She didn't want to get in trouble, not again.
"Those games aren't boring," she protested lightly, but didn't feel like playing them anyway. "They're common though, everyone plays them." She crinkled her nose and tried to think of something, hmmm. "We could play 'Players'?" She suggested, almost shyly. "I want to be a Player when I'm older, so I sometimes make up story lines and pretend I'm a Player playing a part!" She shifted, glancing at him worriedly. "Unless you don't want to play that?" He was a noble, so he probably didn't want to lower himself to play something like that. "We could play tag?" She suggested, giving him an alternative.

Zamba tited his head slightly as thought trying to figure out if he was teasing him or just having a bit of fun. He seemed to decide on the fun because he gave a small smile "sometimes I am" He admitted "But only because I wish to be on the War council someday - it sounds terribly exciting" He assured her - he didn't want her to think he was a completely proper boring noble cub after all, that might put a bit of a damper on their friendship. Though his mother was liable to do that anyways when she found out - well he'd just have to keep that from happening for as long as he could.
His ears perked up as she mentioned a new game - his mother had taken him to watch the players once or twice and it looked like allot of fun although his mother would never allow him to actually participate he didn't see the harm in playing the part though. It was all fun and games right? "Players sounds like fun!" He told her with a tinge of excitement in his voice that he couldn't quite hold back "Do you have a story all ready made up that you want to play?"

Parisette was surprised at his comment, and tilted her head. "The War Council? That sounds terrifying," she said, with an over dramatic shudder. "I'll be a Player, I think, 'cause I don't have any purple," she said, with a slight slump to her shoulders, but she shrugged it off quickly. "Why do you want to be part of the War Council? What do they do?" She asked, sounding more curious now. Maybe they went off and fought crime like the super heroes the Players made stories about!
She grinned when he seemed interested in her game idea, and bounced on her feet eagerly."Really? Yay. Ummm," she paused, trying to think. "Uhh, we could decide one together? Have you seen the Players play any Plays before?" She said, with a slight giggle. She had seen many of them, and wondered if he had. She bet they could make up a great game between the two of them.

Zamba puffed up his chest a bit at her comments "Nah' He told her with a confident look "I won't be scared at all, I'll be a wise General and the King will give me command of some warriors and we'll keep the pride safe forever" He told her with a sage nod that was clearly meant to reassure her that he was not only brave but could indeed do exactly what he said he would.
He didn't seem to mind the fact that she didn't have any purple on her and gave her a quick smile "I think being a player would be fun - if I wan't going to be a famous general I'd be a player for sure" He told her - though he knew his mother would never actually let him do that. Good thing he was going to be a famous general then huh?
"I've been a few and I know a good spot to go and act them out too - my dad showed me the other day!" He told her before trotting off a bit "come on! I'll tell you the plays I've seen on the way"

Parisette's eyes went slightly wide at his confident bravery. He could shrug off wanting to go into something as scary-sounding as War Council? He must be so brave, she thought. Like one of those heroes! It was so dramatic, she thought gleefully. "I'd feel very safe with you as a general," she decided brightly, nodding her head emphatically so much so she almost threw herself over with the power she put into her nodding.
"Maybe you could do both," she laughed, bouncing on the pads of her paws. "Be a General by day, and a work on Plays at night!" It was a pipe-dream, since it would be impossible. When would you sleep? But in her cub mind, it sounded completely logical to Parisette.
"Okay!" She agreed, following him eagerly and waiting to hear about the plays. She'd made a friend, who didn't mind her lack of purple and she was going to preform a play too? Best unexpected playdate ever, she decided dramatically! The best.
