Should we push for more Australian Outfits in Gaia shops?

Do we Aussies need to band together and request Aussie clothing?

Possible Outfits

1) Cricket

Cream pants, shirts, vests, baggy green caps, gloves, pads, bat and ball

2) Man from Snowy River

Driza-bone jacket, Akubura hat, Moleskin pants, Blundstone/RMWilliams
ridig boots, stock whip

3) Footballer

Jersey or guersney (depending on code) shorts, boots and footy.

4) Ocker

blue singlet, stubbies, thongs, Tinnie

5) lifesaver

Red and gold speedos, matching caps, and zinc cream on nose

What do you say?

um... I think it would be good if we could wear something that idienfies us as Ausies. But im not really a fan of streotypical stuff though. But im not sure what else they could use, and i'm not really sure how we could push it too.

If you really wanted to you could make a pretty Australian looking outfit out of the stuff we've got. Anyway, if we got special preference, all the other countries would be all "Hey, what about us?!" The Dutch would demand clogs, the Jamacians would demand tea cosys, the French would demand big noses! It would cause riots.

If we all went to the feedback site on mass and asked for it, maybe we could get it.

The Cricket and the Rugby is not just for us, but for NZ, UK and South AFrica too. and the Indians would prob like it as well.

The sight seems very American as it is. I mean Halloween,
American colonial outfits, why should not we have a few outfits?

And I dont see anything wrong with the dutch getting clogs.
Or indeed every nation beiig able to buy there national costume
if tey so desire.

Well it was set up by Americans, and it still run by Americans, in America. Of course it's going to have a decidedly American flavour to it. Is this really something that gets on your nervs? You can recreats those outfits pretty acurately I'd say already. The only thing that could make it more obvious would be if we got sports utilities, like the crickets balls and footballs. But we don't have anything like that... altough it's probably not a bad idea, the sports one that is anyway. >_>

Silly idea, we're just not worth the effort. The majority of users are from the US; it's the problem with power of the people, the rule of the majority.

It does not bother me,
and I do notthink a few suggestions would be
too much effort. If a dozen or so of all requested it at teh same time it may be noticed.
Or perhaps if the Guild put in an official request on Australia da
or some such.

There are lots of Japanese costumes, Romo-Greco costumes
Why would some one else not be interested in Australian costumes?

I refuse to be epitomised into a costume.

Australia is a Western society, LIKE AMERICA.
Look hard enough and you will find item combinations that are sterotypical of some 'Australians'.

Japan is a more influential culture than our own, and Rome/Greece was the crucible of modern day civilization.

And I agree with Wellz here, it's a largely American site.

Hmm, also I fail to see logic in 'lets give everyone their nationla costume'. For one that varies, and two, well there are thosands of different cultures with different costume.

You're fighting a losing battle, don't argue with this. America is the place where this was made, also where the majority of the users come from. Stop whining and stop thinking that Australia is the only country in the world.

1) If you could have any "Australiana" outfit/item on Gaia,
what would you have? AND
2) How would you use existing Gaia Items to make an
Aussie outfit?

You can easily purchase stubbies thongs and a singlet if need be, I've seen the outfit myself.

As for Australiana outfit, I don't really want any. I'm happy with casual universally accepted clothing.
