Personality: When it comes to Tandu, there are three C’s that describe the big male. Calm, cool, and collected, he doesn’t like to rush into situations, instead preferring to study all the alternatives before coming to a decision. Not to say he doesn’t have his moments, but they are rather seldom and only when he is rushed into things. He is loyal to a fault to those he loves, willing to give his life for their happiness. Something that leads to great pain from time to time as Tandu will put the needs of others before his own.
A trait that steams from his abandonment when he was barely out of cub-hood, his mother disappeared. Unable to accept the stories told to him by his father, that she had simply followed the winds to her own happiness, Tandu left his family as a young male. Nothing matters as much as the search for his mother, putting everything, including his own happiness aside.
This is not to say the big male doesn’t have other dreams, but for now, her trail in the wind is all the drives him. Once she is found there will be time for his story… Maybe.
History:As a child, Tandu grew up with two loving parents and a brother. All were part of a pride and all were happy, there was absolutely no conflict and they always were able to gather food thanks to the prides nomadic ways. Then the winds came, and with them sorrow. Children were sent off on their own to find ‘their own bit of happiness’ never to return to the pride. Some thought it to be a sacrifice for the pride; others believed they truly did find the place they belonged. Whatever the case may be soon both Tandu’s mother and bother found their wind and left without a word. His father was heartbroken, himself confused as to why they would leave as they did but he learned to accept it and take care of his father, ignoring the sweet scented wind that beckoned him to leave as well.
As he grew the winds sweet scent grew stronger, making it hard to ignore until one day his father told him to leave. He didn’t want anything to do with the winds and became bitter at the thought that his whole family had left. Tandu confused by his father’s actions continued to stay by his side until the slip of his mother’s death came to his lips. Broken and scared Tandu fled, following the sweet scented winds in search for his mother, knowing they would one day take him to her. Or so he hoped.
