This will be a thread for pictures and stuff from Furry Connection North, the furry convention I went to....

Well, what can I say? I had fun. I had trouble leaving every night to drive home and sleep. I only got about 9 hours of sleep... the entire 3 nights of the convention.

I can't even remember everything I did there coherently...

I met up with several friends, some of whom I had not seen in ages. The guy who got me into the furry fandom moved out of state ages ago, but then moved back... I met him... he has a boyfriend and I'm glad to see someone's there to take care of him. Wildfox, who lived in northern Michigan and would come hang out with the local furs... he came to do panels and suit in his 4 suits, including his Wildfox suit and Scamper the skunk suit.

You can see me sitting behind the guy with the striped shirt and hat to the right. The guy who gets scritched by the red & black puppy Shiro, and then high fives the skunk Scamper (one of Wildfox's suits).

-Furs at Work Lynx: The guy under the suit's actually an older gent.. 40s-50s or so... and a real nice guy, and apparently works in construction. Great suit
- The blue pajamas at about 1min... too cute...
- Shiny Puppy at 1:12... blue and white suit... He's a friend of mine.. I actually had to motivate his tired a** to get into the parade.
- The wolf fur with the stick around 1:36 looked kinda nice
- Gargoyle at 2:05
- Muscular wolf at 2:25 (oh and the purple thing before it)
- Fox partial after that
- Gold Wolf at 2:38
- Rubix Cube fur... clever
- The starfox-ish fox at 3:10... said it cost him $14,000 but it looks sweet...
- Chi wolf at 3:20 in the pink skirt I know
- The horse woman at 3:50... if there's really a woman under that she has a nice figure.
- The white kitsune at 4min had the nicest head.. so pretty...
- Unicorn at 4:18, an older gent and a great fellow...
- The donkey at 5:56 is Asino, I know him too
- The green guy at 7:40 had the most beautiful fur... you can't see it, but each green strand of fur is black tipped... and it creates the nicest color blend ever.. the colors on that suit are awesome

The things that bugged me were the suits at 3min and 8:48 wearing the tight boy-short underwear, and the cheeta wearing the thong at 3:18. This con was at a public hotel and the parade had kids watching, we do not need to represent our fandom with ******** wearing SEXY UNDERWEAR ON THEIR SUITS.

I'm the guy in black and glasses closest to the camera. The guys next to me were wasted. This was during the Rock Band tourney... I am so glad this is blurred.

Uncle Kage I believe is the chairman of Anthrocon. He ran several panels during the con.

Summary of the Con (things I did):
Friday
- In the morning I printed out the badge scan Axiroth had sent me and pasted it to card stock, then cut out a hole for a badge clip.
- 12pm - Lunch. People seeing fursuiters ordering taco bell is funny as s**t.
- 12:30 was the panel "Your First Convention" with Uncle Kage, chairman of Anthrocon. He's a pretty funny guy, especially when drunk. Most of what he said about cons (make sure you eat, stay hydrated, get sleep, and BATHE!!!) is stuff I already knew
- 2pm was the model rocket panel
- Around 3:30-4ish was the LARP panel, or Live Action Roleplay, by Alkali
- After that was hanging out and eating

At about 8:30pm I went to the board game room to play "Lupus in Tabula" hosted by Alkali, which is a variant of the Werewolf/Mafia game. The idea is there's a group of people, and the runner of the game passes out cards that tell what your role is. A small group becomes werewolves who kill a person each round, and the villagers have to debate who they think is a werewolf and lynch a suspected person each round. The werewolves win if there's one left at the end, else the villagers win if the last werewolf dies. A round includes night, when everyone closes their eyes and the werewolves pick someone to kill, as well as special villagers get info to help them determine who the werewolf is, and day, when the group debates who to lynch next. In this round, I was a regular villager and was killed by a werewolf near the end of the game. The wolves won.

- at midnight, I went to the showing of the movie Clue starring Tim Curry, only to find out it was canceled due to malfunction. I ended up watching the con version of Who's Line is it Anyway improv show, which was funny as s**t. Funniest part was when they did an 80's family sitcom, two of the roles were grandmother and creepy uncle, and the creepy uncle kept on trying to hump grandma, even when she fell over and died.
- Got home around 2:30, went to sleep around 3am...

Saturday
- Woke up at 8am, got driving around 9:30.
- First thing I went to was the model railroad panel at 10am. They had a small layout set up and running.
- The fursuiters walked from the ballroom all through the hotel at 1pm, then walked out into the parking lot where someone had parked a Delorean. Someone blasted 80s music out of a replica boombox and people danced.
- Afterwards I went and ate at P.T. Chang's asian restaurant during their lunch hour, when stuff is under $10. I once at there years ago, their Honey Chicken is one of the best dishes I have ever tasted.
- I spent some time watching the Rock Band Tournament, and trying to sing along to it (see above video)
- I then spent about 3 hours in the Lego room. Friday I had found old space monorail track, and monorail car wheels. Friday night I had found the motor. This time, I spent the 3 hours building two cars for the monorail, an engine car and a passenger car, and got it running.
- At 10pm I played some cards with people.
- 11pm was another round of Werewolf/Lupis in Tabula. This time I was a Freemason. The only purpose of a Freemason is to know who other Freemasons are, so we know those people are NOT werewolves. In this round the villagers lynched me first. I watched as the game dwindled down to a witch (who can, and did, save someone from death but has to pick someone else to die in their place), a fellow freemason, a werehampster (in cohorts with the werewolves but doesn't kill anyone), and one werewolf. I knew who the last werewolf was but couldn't say anything. The werewolves won.
- I then watched another game where the Werewolf killed the bodyguard (who picks a different person to protect each round), and the bodyguard picked the werewolf to protect. The villagers then picked the werewolf to lynch and won.
- Con was officially over for the day, but I spent about 2 hours in the hotel lounge and played cards. I then went home and got to bed around 3:30-4:30ish.

Sunday:
- Got up at 8:30am, showered.
- I wanted to get there to see the "Christian Furries" panel, because I think that's a massive contradiction, but missed it. Got there before 11am
- At 11 there was an amateur radio "fox hunt". Someone hides a radio transmitter, and using small radios and homemade antennas, they try to find it. The closer to the transmitter the more bars on the radio. The third time we went to find it someone gave me a radio. We narrowed it down to the hotel lobby. I was poking around the gift shop, where I was getting a signal even with the radio antenna disconnected, and when I walked out I saw drawers in the lobby for decoration. I realized the transmitter must have been there, and sure enough... I was the second one to find it, and guys who had been doing this for years couldn't find the transmitter!
- I spent 3 more hours building a station for my lego monorail. And the entire thing was finally finished.
- I can't remember exactly what I did the rest of the day. I ate, I played video games, I wandered around.
- I eventually hung out playing rock band. I sang Poker Face Cartman version, and Electric Six's Gay Bar.
- I then played more card games until 1am when I finally went home... I actually was sad to go.
