(( Note: This takes place after Kiraka has made her deal with Kazi. ))

After a long journey away from home starting before she reached full physical maturity, Kiraka had finally made it back home. But now that she had achieved her goal, now that she was colorful and sure to be accepted by the butterflies.. now she had finally accepted her new name. She was ready to be an adult now, she just needed to find someone to tell. She was looking for her brother, her father, her mother.. but she was enjoying her walk through the jungle. The longer she was away from home, the more sane she became, the more uncomfortable and worried she had become. Being home felt right again, whatever nagging part of her had been telling her she was being silly for wanting to be colorful and then made her wonder about the deal she made.. it was gone. She was back home and she knew she was right, everything was how it was supposed to be now. And she never, ever wanted to leave home again.

Unlike Kiraka, there had been no epic journey for LuciƩrnaga'reina to discover her muse and find an appropriate name. This lioness had always known she had loved the fireflies by the lake. Obsessed over them, in fact, and so her delusions had built up around them.

And, finally, when she had reached adulthood she had been crowned their queen by the lake, the crown of vines set upon her head before her subjects and before her dearest, dearest friend; Miminiwa.

That was the day that young Izo'raina had become queen of the fireflies. She had been named, LuciƩrnaga'reina. But, to her friends, she was usually known as Lucie. And, though she was blue and white, her eyes were as golden and shining as her little muses. A firefly lived there, burning bright in her soul.

She had never left home. Never really wanted to when the loves of her lives were here. She couldn't have abandoned them when they needed her, after all. But, perhaps if things had been different. If her muse had been more adventurous and strayed, then she would have strayed, too. Instead she was most often seen near the water where she had been busy constructing herself a little den so she could always be close by.

However, today she was just returning from a successful hunt, a hare hanging in her mouth - lifeless now. The open land made her an easy lioness to spot and today there seemed to be quite a lot of life. The pride had certainly picked up a little recently.

Distracted briefly as she looked around for any sign of butterflies, she considered heading off towards a favorite flower patch.. somewhere she knew she could reintroduce herself to her muse. But another part of her was far too excited to see her family, should Popo he had been wrong to doubt her! When she looked up to resume a more productive pace, she spotted the familiar white and blue lioness. She felt a flutter of excitement, it had been too long since she saw anyone familiar, it really didn't matter who it was but it didn't hurt that it was Lucie.

"Lucie!" she cried excitedly, jogging directly toward her sister.

Lucie startled.

Someone was calling her name? A voice that rung familiar in her ears but with a name and a face she could not place?

She looked across in the direction of that voice and noticed a blue lioness moving towards her. Head tipping slightly, she felt a little embarrassed that this one would know her and yet she could not say the same.

She would be less embarrassed, however, when she realised there was a good reason why she did not recognise the female at first.

"Hello!" She greeted when the other was close enough, dropping the hare onto the ground. "Long time no see!" A safe assumption since she couldn't remember her.

"How have you been?"

Kiraka giggled watching Lucie react to her enthusiastic greeting. It was evident she didn't realize who she was or she would have been less.. formal? Odd? Whatever it was. Still, she expected that. Her fur was different, even if she was physically built the same, had the same markings, the same eyes.. would anyone just assume it was her? Probably not.

"It has been a long time, I've been fantastic!" she answered, ignoring that the whole quest was a great big mess until just a couple days before when she met Kazi.

"Can't figure it out, can you?" she asked suddenly, giggling.

"That's wonderful!" She called back. It was always good to here someone being so enthusiastic. Normally an answer to that question was generic: yes, I've been fine. But this was truly wonderful. Something big must have happened in this female's life to have her so upbeat and happy!

"Can't figure...? Oh..." She grinned somewhat sheepishly, flicking back her ears briefly.

"Sorry...I'm usually so good with putting names to faces, too." There was something strangely familiar about her, too. And that voice. Ugh! It was so frustrating! "It's on the tip of my tongue!" She continued, bouncing a little on the tips of her paws.

Kira was having a little too much fun watching Lucie be confused but she really didn't want to drag it on, she was eager to show off what she had accomplished. She danced around on her feet, her excitement showing. She never stopped smiling, very evidently not offended by Lucie's inability to say exactly who she was.

"It's meee," she said brightly, "Kiraka! Except not Kiraka anymore." She nodded, looking down over her legs and back to her tail, which swayed cheerily. She was still enjoying looking at what parts of her she could see. She was sure it wasn't just going to wash off like some strange, colorful dirt now but she still liked to look at it.

She blinked, mouth falling wide open. Kiraka? Her sister? Really? She tried to speak but sort of failed, casting her gaze over that extremely blue pelt. It had been white before...hadn't it?

But, she seemed happy enough about it and she had to admit it was a rather pretty shade.

"Kiraka!" She finally burst. "It is you! Wow, you certainly have changed quite a bit!" She laughed. "What happened to you?" It must have been magic of some sort! What else could have transformed her in such a way?

"I left, I had to leave, the butterflies weren't being very nice- they didn't like how plain I was," she said, positively beaming, "I couldn't find a way to be colorful here so I left, I went to the Ela'wadiyi for a little bit but I decided to wait on something like they have. I don't know how I found him but I found a god, he made me colorful!"

She didn't need to mention the deal she had made, it didn't need to be announced, it wasn't even the point. She was blue now!

"And and now I'm blue and they'll be happy," she explained, "And now I can take my proper name, Kimimela."

"I always thought you were beautiful, Kiraka. Your fur was so pretty! But I have to admit, the new colour does suit you a lot and I'm sure the butterflies are going to be so envious when you show them!"

She lifted her ears. "What a nice God, to help you like that! Its good to know that there are others out there willing to use their powers for good. After all, there'd be no point having them, would there?"

She smiled. "Kimimela! That's really cute, Sis!" She purred, reaching out to buffet her head against her relative's shoulder. "You ventured to other prides, too? I bet you have some stories to tell!"

Kimi smiled, she was used to being told her white fur had been perfectly lovely and that she didn't need to worry about her fur but she never gave up her obsession and now she was very glad she hadn't. She nodded along as Lucie commented on the god. Since Kazi helped her, no matter what the price was (or would be).. she was his biggest fan.

"It's amazing I found him at all, I don't know how it happened but I'm very glad it did," she babbled happily, "I don't know if any other gods would have been able to help me. And it was just when I was really starting to miss home and everybody here." She brushed against Lucie's shoulder in return, feeling another surge of excitement for being home.

"I have plenty of stories, I guess," she said, "I didn't really see any but the Ela'wadiyi but I saw Grandpa there." Misae's adoptive father was the whole reason Kimi had known about the pride and had a way to visit.. and a group to stay with. It hadn't been that bad.

"It was just meant to be, I guess! How wonderful that everything worked out so perfectly!" It was good to hear stories like this. Where everything gets wrapped up and sorted with a nice happily ever after. She was hoping she was going to have the same happily ever after someday, as soon as she figured out exactly what such a thing might be for her.

"Well, I'm glad you're back. I haven't had much contact with anyone...well, ever, really. But now that I have my new name and I'm settled with my muses, I've got a lot more time for everyone. It's weird...before...I just couldn't concentrate on anything. Now it seems as if life really has become quite beautiful!"

"I wondered where I had heard that name before. Ela'wadiyi. What were they like?" She, who had been born here and never strayed from these lands had absolutely no idea about the outside world.

Kimi nodded as Lucie explained how little contact she had had with anybody before but was opening up much more now that her muse was settled out. That was a big problem Kiraka had had, she couldn't handle her muse, a kind few had offered her her name but mostly she was not accepted. She spent so much time worrying about it she had never learned to hunt, never contributed. She'd interacted with family but she really was mostly self-involved.

"I hope I have more time now, things can be peaceful now that I'm colorful," she said optimistically, glancing to the hare that her sister had at her feet, "Is hunting hard? I ought to try it now, I guess." She shook her head. There would be time to worry about that later!

"They were very interesting!" she said, "They live in groups, I stayed with the wolf clan- that's where Grandpa is. They all had such pretty colorful markings all over them, except the cubs but they said the cubs would get more as they got older. Umm! I don't know how they got all of the colors but there was lots of green, um, and red, and blue.. but they all had pretty plain fur underneath it."

The more she rambled about it, the more reasonable it sounded for a solution but.. it just wasn't what she had wanted. She would have gone back but she didn't have to worry about that now.

"I'm sure things will settle for you, too." Lucie replied, not doubting it for a second. Then, she glanced down at the hare at her paws. She'd almost forgotten it in all the excitement...

"Hunting is...a mix of luck and perseverance." She replied. "This one was luck. Either way, you'll learn fast. Us women are the hunters, after all!"

And she settled herself more comfortably then, a keen listener as ever. "That sounds amazing. I wonder where the colours come from. When I saw you, I thought it must be magic to turn your pelt a new colour that was so bright. But if they make bright colours to put on their pelts, something like that must exist out there." A mystery, for sure!

"It must have been nice, visiting them all. Do you think you'll ever go back?"

"I don't know how they do it, it didn't seem very easy to get an answer about it and I wasn't sure they liked me asking so much so I stopped trying," she said, "Magic helped me get it all over me but they're very good at the stuff they do!" She nodded enthusiastically-- until asked if she would ever go back, then she shook her head. She'd had fun but right now she wasn't even entertaining the idea of leaving again.

"No, I'm never never never ever leaving home again," she said with a laugh, nudging at Lucie affectionately with a paw, "I don't like leaving, it just didn't feel right. I'm glad to be home now. Do you know where mom is? Or my dad?" She looked around, it'd be too convenient for them to be just right here, she knew that.
