Diagon Alley

To reach Diagon Alley, one must go through The Leaky Cauldron to a rear courtyard and tap a brick in the wall, found by counting three up and two across, unless of course you can Apparate than that is a whole other matter.
If a wizard or witch needs something, chances are that it can be found in Diagon Alley.

Allie Lightstone stared around in amazement as the wall behind the Leaky Cauldron melded into an arch. "Wow" she gasped. She gaped openmouthed at the colorful storefronts and the enchanted alley. "Alright first stop, Ollivander's" her escort said.

Alexis James walked with her father through Diagon Ally. She had been here a few times but she never got bored coming here. Today she was especially happy. She was shopping for school supplies. In a few weeks, she would be attending Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, the same school her father had attended. "Okay so now let's go get you your wand," her father said. Alexis heart skipped a beat. This was the part she had been waiting for years. They walked up to Ollivander's.

Allie was standing in Ollivander's being handed wand after wand as the old wandmaker tried to help her find the wand for her. She turned when she heard the bell on the door ring, forgetting she had a wand in her hand. As she turned the wand fired and hit the bell with a pop. "No...not that one either." Mr. Ollivander said. He turned to the girl and her father who had just walked in, "I'll be with you in just a moment." He went back into the back and brought out another wand, cherry, 11", unicorn tail. Allie took it and it shot off just like the last one hitting a vase. "No...again."

Alexis was a bit worried when she heard the crash of the vase. "Don't worry. Everyone has trouble finding the right wand. I lost count of how many didn't work for me. You'll find the right wand eventually though, her father said. Alexis began to wounder how many wands she would have to try to find the right one.

Allie sighed as she handed the cherry wand back. Ollivander thought for a moment, and then a light seemed to turn on and he rushed back to the storage. "Try this one." he said. It was 11 1/2", made of rowan, pheonix feather. Allie held it in her hand and suddenly her entire body felt warm, and the wand was glowing a golden color. Ollivander cheered, "Aha! I knew it. I've had that wand for over half a century and it would not choose anyone. Pheonix feather's are finicky about who they choose, but I believe it chose you for a reason.You will do great things with that wand" He patted her shoulder and handed her her wand and it's case.

He turned to the other costumers and smiled, "Now what do we have here? Another first year?"

"Yes sir," Alexis said with a small smile. The moment was finally here. After all the time she had spent looking at her father's wand she was about to receive her very own.

"Well, let's see what I have..." he went into the back and found a wand. "Ok, Ash wood, 11 inches, dragon heartstring...try that on for size." Allie stood in the corner of the store watching caressing her new wand as she waited for her escort to return.

Alexis took the wand. As soon as she did, the wand fired and knocked a couple of boxes off of the shelf. "Sorry!" Alexis said as she quickly handed the wand back Ollivander.

"Quite alright! Quite alright!" Ollivander said. He went and picked another, "Cherry, 10 1/2 inches, unicorn tail." He went and stood off at a distance to observe.

Alexis picked up the wand. This time the wand fired and hit a lamp. "Sorry!" She said again. She had imagined the moment when she would receive her wand a million times but never like this.

Ollivander pursed his lips, he was starting to reconsider bringing valuable objects into his store. "Hmmmm...how about this one." he handed her a willow wand with a hippogriff talon core. "I don't usually use talons but, perhaps..."

Alexis looked at the wand. It didn't look that much different from the other wands she had seen. None the less, she took the wand. When she did, it felt warm. She smiled. This was her wand.

"Ah! Excellent, now you must care for this wand especially. With a Hippogriff talon core, it demands respect, or it could be tempermental" He warned her.
