Kamots awoke lying in a pile of brushed leaves near to the small pack. He couldn't get it out of his mind that he was the only single wolf within the pack hierarchy. It just wasn't fair! To make matters worse his request to go back to their original den was left flitting among the passing breezes. He yawned pulling his strong form to its upright position. Letting his tail wag as usual he walked away from their makeshift den out under the starry sky that was so bright it seemed diamonds were placed there. He yawned once again looking upward at the bright glowing orb, watching or rather drawing in its deep luminescence that bathed him.

Letting a whimper entwined with a frustrated growl, he leaned back letting the balls of his feet balance him. Opening his maw he let loose a mournful haunting cry not knowing if he'd ever hear one in reply. This had carried on for many nights since the festival had ended perhaps an attempt to pull a female as himself from the very heavens. A she-wolf to nurture and protect; one to call his own in the pack.

Limdur had found her, on the run from that she wolf, only a night ago and brought her to his forest. As far as Mizuki knew the pack he had told her lived here did not know yet of her presence. It was this reason which ad her on edge and nervous, she didn't know if her being here would cause issue with the pack which lived here. It was this reason that she would have kept quite when the howling cry tore through the air, only it sounded so sad it cut at her soul.

Someone was so upset, it brought her near to tears realizing there was a wolf that sad. Hesitant she didn't take long to come to a decision, even if it was perhaps stupid and would lead to her downfall, not that she had far to fall given she was living here and couldn't return home...all due to that she wolf.

Long blond hair trailed down her back, dipping down lower, as her head tipped back and her mouth opened as she returned the howling cry, but that deep sadness was not present in her reply.

Kamots paused with a groan pulling himself back to the shadows of the wood. But something haunting, almost like a pull in a different direction caught his attention. The response was far off and yet it surrounded him like an omen, pulling him to follow. His ears swiveled listening as his sense of smell was widening. He began moving on four legs quickly to the call that beckoned him, a moth to the undying flame. Deep within him he was harboring something secret; Hope. The faster he paced himself the closer the scent became apparent.

As he leaped upon a rock overlooking a valley his eyes caught a vision, a beautiful form sent from the moon itself. The fairytale of the wolves sent a name to his conscience; Lady Lupa. But this couldn't be her for that name was strictly a tale most mothers whispered to their pups when they couldn't sleep. He tilted his head with the impulse to alert her to his presence then he stopped.

What if that She b***h had found them? Luring the male out only to cause disturbance in the pack? His heart told him to accept her yet his mind warned him fully. The Queen of those monsters was a vile, cunning b***h that could trick anyone she wanted. So Kamots stood and evaluated this wolf keeping a distance. Only when he felt time passed did he speak, "How did you come here? Are you out to destroy Matsi's pack? If you are you'll deal with me" While it was a question it was a warning. Kamots had to protect the pack while his mother's mate was still missing.

But what if he was making a terrible mistake? If she was real then hopefully she'd understand his wariness from the wrath of Kasdeya. But if she were a demon he'd see to it she'd never tread this land ever again. Either outcome the young male was strong and he was ready to face the music should it be soft or loud.

She had not expected more then a return howl, certainly not the wolf themself to show up. It was that voice, and the words they spoke, which had her turning around. Blond hair fanning out behind her as she turned. Black and white marred with a strand of golden disks about one wrist and one ankle, which gently jingled as she moved quickly to face the male wolf.

Blue eyes, pale in color, stared for a moment before blackened lips parted to allow her to speak. "I was brought here by the Moon God himself. It was no longer safe deep in the woods of Faetasia where I lived." Here in the realm of the Moon God it was safer, no dark presence in the air, no distant howling or cackling of that twisted wolf. The wolf, if one wanted to still consider her to be such, was twisted and dark her entire being filled with fright at hearing the she wolf even far off in the distance. She had hidden herself deeper and deeper into the woods of Faetasia to hide better, it hadn't worked well enough though.

"I am here for safety and under the God's protection. He did tell me of a small pack he brought here, for the same reason. You must be one of it's members. I meant to soon present myself, just so the knowledge was had of my being here." Though she had not known for sure if when she went to do so they would already know of her being here, and she had only just arrived the evening before. She'd wanted, no needed, some time to rest and collect herself.

He stood his ground as if to chase the illusion far away, yet his sense of smell depicted she was indeed a regular female. Strange that the God's lingering scent was mingled around hers as if in protection that no evil could wedge itself in the realm.

Kamots had been mistaken.

But he was a strong wolf that sometimes hid his uncertainty from the pack using a shield of stubborn and sometimes ignorant reactions.

This was not the case.

He pulled his pride deep within his strong frame and lowered his head to her keeping his vigil deep within her eyes. Not giving the option of dominance on her part, but apologizing subtly for being wrong in his first assumption.

"Be it you responded or not I would of found you by your scent. Forgive my assumption that you are of that she b***h. Our pack was nearly put to rest in the legends if she would of located the den back home. Needless to say it hasn't been boring..." he growled stepping closer as he took in her scent even more now. She carried no other wolf's scent so perhaps maybe she was alone like he was.

While still holding his dominance though low keyed he finally came within a few feet from where she stood, "Have you your own pack you traveled with?" A question for her yes, knowledge of an existing mate his inquiry. If she was indeed single maybe she'd accept him. A possible fantasy on his part but Kamots wasn't giving up hope. If his sister could find a mate then so shall he.

He moved closer to her keeping his gaze deeply set on her, the charm bracelet jingling as his tail moved. "If you trust me I'll take you to a place to rest. I've found its peaceful here, nothing like the chaos at home". He paused. "What is your name by the way? I'm sorry I didn't ask in my display of misjudging you."

Watching him Mizuki didn't say anything. Pale eyes set on the larger wolf before her, he was near to pure white save for the patches of colored spots. Her own body a mixture of black and white with blond hair, she stood out in the woods though not as much as he must.

"Yes, I had figured I'd be found at some point if I did not appear to the pack on my own." How could she think otherwise? They were wolves just as she, and she knew her own sense of smell to be very keen. There was no doubt in her mind she'd have been found, the question was how long before that happened, something she'd never know and hadn't had a plan to find out.

"No, I've nothing to do with that she wolf. I dislike her, she's like a poison, rotting and killing...tainting everything she passes by. I don't even think calling her a wolf to be fitting, she is twisted and an abomination." She did not like ever referring to that female as a wolf, tribe or pack wolf it didn't matter. She was still no wolf to her.

"A pack...no I don't belong to one and haven't for as long back as I can remember. I've managed to survive on my own." Taking down whatever she could to feast upon. Perhaps that was a good thing though. She knew if it had been more than her finding food and hiding from that devil in disgust would have been harder, much harder if not impossible.

The jingling of charms caught her attention. Looking at the two sets of charms she wore she noted none moving or having jingled. Her gave turned to him and discovered...charms similar to her own. Holding up her wrist, her own charms jingling in response to his. "I thought for a moment I was jingling and yes...show me some place. I would appreciate it. It is nice not fearing to sleep and never wake up." Due to being killed in ones sleep from that beast.

"I named myself Mizuki, and your name?"

The male wolf sensed the tiredness in her stance and her replies. That creature must of driven this poor female beyond her abilities, he'd know full well what Kasdeya was capable of for she nearly took out the pack. She hadn't succeeded thanks to the Moon deity, and once again he had come through by inviting Mizuki. Then Matsi's son remembered...

"I'm Kamots. I hope you won't mind me being close to you as we walk. I've never had the chance of escorting one save my sister". He smiled only a bit before nodding as his padded paws walked upon the ground quietly leading her to his secret place.

When they reached their destination he motioned her to enter the hidden cave, then followed her. He couldn't help but feel something for Mizuki as though they were connected somehow. She wasn't pack nor pack blood and still she... completed him? Interesting thought but it did have meaning and purpose. He seated himself next to her looking away momentarily then spoke, "I need to make a confession be it enlightening or quite the opposite. What I mean is..." he growled at his stubbornness, "I'm searching for a mate. I'm the only lone wolf in the pack that I know of... It's sudden for you to consider but I'd be honored if you'd accept. Sure I'm stubborn and hard-headed but I think you'd be perfect for me."

His hopes had risen but her truth would be the final conflict or acceptance. He would not force her but he was trying his damned best to persuade her. The pack was growing but still there were the loners that sought mates.

He sighed deeply, "I'll let you sleep on it. We can both rest or I can hunt and get you something to eat". He started to leave then turned toward her, "If you'd accept I'd never fail to protect you. My mother says I could be an alpha someday. I think she's right." He smiled to himself then left the small cave sniffing the air for prey. She was safe here and maybe when he'd come back she'd be even more then a female he just met.

To say she was tired was an understatement, she was keeping awake by sheer will. Last night she hadn't gotten a lot of sleep, even though she knew these woods were safe. She was very glad for the Moon Deity saving her, and bringing her here. These woods were nice, the feeling was pleasing and clean...pure.

"No, I don't mind. I think I'd like that. I have not been in the presence of another wolf in a very long time...if ever." She assumed she had been as a pup, but how much longer after birth she didn't know. Having him at her side was a good thing, right now especially, she was tired and didn't want want to be without support incase she did waver in her step.

They had made it to his cave, which was good. She laid herself down as Kamots sat next to her. Her tail laying against her nose, a way to keep warm while sleeping or resting which she planned to do. Ears perked up as he confessed to her he was seeking a mate. He wished for her...to be his mate? A mate was something she had never once pondered or entertained the idea of, being a loner why would she think of such a thing.

"Yes, let me think on it. I have never once thought of a mate....be careful while you hunt." Food would be nice, for them both she was sure. She would spend her time, before he returned, pondering his offer. He was strong and he did not sense any ill intent from him. He seemed...able and willing to provide for her, without a second thought to it.

She had a lot to think of....

Kamots nodded to her nosing some twigs and brush toward the area he had asked her to rest within. He mouthed the words, "Alright. I'll be back". Taking off in a sprinted gait his mind was full of questions as he sought out a deer.

It wasn't really hard to spot either, the clumsy thing that it was. Still he had to hone his skills to bring her down. Whether Mizuki joined his request or not he still wouldn't starve her. Crouching down he moved slowly as a bush rustled beside him. Pulling into himself he paused in mid hunt because he had alerted the deer. Licking his maw he waited patiently for the deer to go back to grazing.

Eyes keeping a quiet vigil he advanced toward his prey letting his footfalls seem soft and unnoticeable. He only paused when the deer looked around nervously and snorted. This game could of course go on forever but he had a motive and he would be damned if he lost this chance. Creeping lower to the ground he covered himself in ferns and crouched again letting his back muscles grow taunt and prepare himself to spring when ready.

The deer finally caught his scent then leaped to freedom in its delicate gate. Kamots tore out after his prey on all fours zig zaging through the trees till he swerved and ran sidelong into the creature causing it to stumble. He growled and leaped at the air coming down on the deer's back. Claws digging inward he pulled the creature down till he found its neck. Clamping down on the throat he heard a gurgled cry then the creature went limp. Panting he moved to the belly ripping strips of flesh and placing them in a pile.

He ate till there was a bit of space within his belly left. Then he found a trunk of a tree and his his prize so he could find it later. Picking up the meal for Mitzuki he carried it in his mouth proudly. Stopping not too far from the makeshift den he paused inhaling the air. She was still there which made him breathe in relief. Using his paws he removed the brush and twigs then crawled inside where she was resting. Yawning he let out a whimper and curled up beside her nose to tail.

Kamots had placed her meal not to far away so she could eat when she awoke, for now he would rest with her as well.

When she did awaken it was to the smell of meat, a fresh kill. Perking she shifted and moved to eat as she laid there, her pale eyes turning to the larger male. He had brought her deer meat, that could not have been an easy kill for him given the size of a deer and the fight they could put up.

Not finishing her meal, she would soon enough, her attention turned to the male and with blood stained maw she went and nuzzled him, licking at his face to wake him. She knew he likely needed the sleep, but she had to thank him and give him an answer. She had come p with one shortly before she fell asleep, which she had not been planning to do.

Blond hair fell about their faces, like a curtain, while she nuzzled the top of the males head, his ears, and licked at one of his ears. "Wake up, I do wish to speak with you."

Darkness. Stench. Poison. Death

Those things burned his senses and his well being as he traveled uncertain through the brambles that seemed to catch his fur on fire. He growled and dodged them as they reached out, long misshapen fingers of despair and death.

All of them were dead, slain in cold blood.

She was close now so close if he could only reach Mizuki in time. But he seemed to be sinking, running into the ground as he fled. He saw the dark b***h cackle, heard her howl in laughter. The unsightly b***h's jaws firmly sunken deep within Mizuki as she shredded and tore down to the bone. Red crimson was flowing as it ebbed and flowed cascading toward the thirsty ground.

As he sunk further in this liquid ground he called to Mizuki in a half cry, half growl. His own body was melting away, erasing from existence. Calling out to her the b***h laughed even harder as she grabbed his left hindquarter, ripping out a hunk of flesh. Then everything became pitch black as his world ceased to exist.

In his mind he failed her, failed the pack, but most of all he failed himself to protect and keep the pack alive.

Moving restlessly in his sleep he snapped his deep eyes open unsettled. Something wasn't right. But her scent was fresh and near. Was it a trick he wondered?

Turning his head slowly he gazed into calming blue orbs. Her golden tresses lightly trailing over them both. There was no danger nor feeling of despair here, only traces of what he had left to hunt. He breathed with a smoother rhythm pausing only not to nuzzle her. It was a sign of weakness and only those as mates could claim the right.

As he focused more her voice lingered off...Wake up, I do wish to speak with you. He yawned relaxing more then spoke?" What is it?" He himself personally still felt uneasy as a vicious pain was hurting his left hindquarter. But he was strong and he ignored it.. for now.

It had seemed like some dream had gripped him, what it's contents were she did not know. She didn't think it her place to ask about it, so when he woke she didn't. But instead she kept her blue eyes on his brighter blue orbs.

"Thank you for the meal, it was kind of you." To provide her a meal, to hunt a deer for her sake.

When he asked her what she wanted Mizuki gave him a soft smile and nuzzled him once more. "I needed to thank you for the meal, which I have done, but also the rest you may have. I'm sure your hungry, and I don't know if you ate. But I also...have an answer for you." The dark and pale female spoke before licking one of his ears.

"I would be proud to be your mate and to join your pack." She spoke honestly, pale blue eyes not once leaving his own blue eyes.

She was here. This was well in his his mind but the lingering stench in his memories was like a voided lapse in time. He looked around as if in a stupor still till he laid his eyes upon his haunch with that evil annoying pain. It burned with an intense feeling that even a creature like himself couldn't fathom.

Her voice though brought his attention back wondering still if a dream plauged him. Ears swiveling toward Mizuki he settled into her beautiful gaze not moving or speaking for fear of an ignorant mistake. Not fear pysically but mentally with regret more like it is what he fathomed.

"You would?" he asked now with a more alert response toward her. It wasn't that he was questioning her, but more so himself just to be sure.

A mate. family. A pack. A dream within a respose which she'd assure him. If he heard her completely then things would be as he wanted it; Finally he'd be one with the pack rather then walk along side like an outcast.
