It was much later in the day, and evening had settled in. The sun was setting, and the land was cooling off. Usually most of the hyenas were out and about, but because of how lazy some of them could be, they didn't follow normal patterns. Regardless, Tukutu was still out and about, and he figured that it might be a good time to check in on that new girl.
Who...he didn't know the name of. Ah, whatever, she was unique enough that he would be able to spot her. He was trotting around the pack's lands, since she had mentioned that she wanted to look for a skull to claim for her own. So she shouldn't be too far...unless she picked a more outlying skull to use as a den.

Though it had been a slight disappointment she'd found an unoccupied skull to clean out for herself. She'd gotten most of the dust and cobwebs out, and displaced a few spiders and a lizard, and was pondering something soft to sleep on. She'd have to find something eventually because rock was not her preferred sleeping surface. It was hard and lumpy and never stayed a good temperature.
Kicking a few scrap bones away she stood outside the skull and surveyed her work. It seemed to be good so far.

Ah, there she was. He wasn't too far off, but he trotted over to her before she disappeared into her skull again. It wouldn't be too great if she had, since Tuk felt that they were a pretty private thing. He liked his, and because of his status he had a pretty nice one. Still, he knew better than to just waltz in.
"Hey," he said, remembering that he still didn't have her name. Eh, he'd get it soon. "Found one you like, I'm guessing?"

She recognized the voice behind her as the one who'd brought her here earlier and smirked. "I did. Sadly didn't have to chase anyone out of it but it's cozy." She brushed aside a pile of cobwebs before turning. "Just needs a good bed and it will be prefect."
At least it didn't smell. Something that big with enough rotting stuff in it probably smelled for a good long while before they were livable.

Tuk nodded. "Eh, you'll be able to snap a couple of the males in line if you see them slacking. The scouts seem to do it more, but that's just cause it's so quiet 'round here."
He glanced inside, just a little peek. So she wouldn't sleep on the hard ground, eh? Well, he wouldn't mention it. He was fine with it, but it was more habit than anything. "I'm sure we can find you a bit of a pelt around here....somewhere. We don't really clean up or organize, if you couldn't tell yet," he grinned. "That might soften it up a bit."

"I'm sure i will if i catch them doing so." It would be fun and maybe she could get a bit of entertainment out of it for a while.
"Got to be some around somewhere. It something to kill that can be used." She'd even take a pile of pelt scraps if it meant she didn't have to sleep on the rock. "I like my beds to keep a good temperature. Stone doesn't. It does whatever it wants to do"

"Well, why don't we go find a couple? There's an area where we usually just dump stuf, might be something there." She could always get herself something nicer later, maybe even after a hunt. He didn't want his prospective new member to leave because she couldn't sleep the first night.
"I'm Tukutu by the way," he slid in, hoping to get a name. Better than just saying 'hey you' all the time.

"You have a dump?" She'd never thought about something like that before. Though now that the idea was in her head it was an interesting one.
"Oh, Baki." She grinned. She probablys hould have told him that earlier but he hadn't asked

"I guess you could call it that," he said, motioning for her to follow. "We leave bones around everywhere, but if someone feels like moving stuff around, we just leave it in one area."
He went quiet as they walked, as he didn't really know how to explain it. A dump, well, perhaps that was the best term for it.
"Ah, here, we're close." It was a scattering of broken bones, skulls, rib cages, pieces of old, rotting meat that some selfish hyena had tossed in without sharing. Some pelts were here too, but most of them were in pieces.
"We ah, don't take great care of the leftovers," he chuckled.

She looked at the stuff strewn about in what passed for a dump. "If no one's using it it makes sense that it's not taken care of. No one really watches the trash"
She poked around through the pile until she found a few pelt scraps that weren't still rotting and didn't smell too bad. "I think these will do for now. They dont look like they'll keep falling apart any time soon." Probably all the stuff in the dump had tanned the pretty well.

Tukutu swished his tail behind him, actually a little glad that she had found what she wanted. One less stress to worry about tonight. Maybe this would get everyone else a little interested about getting more hyenas in. Liven the place up. Do something.
"Glad you found something," he nodded. "Always free to look around, though there's not much here. Still, sometimes someone will toss somethin' in here you might like." He shrugged, since sleeping on pelts wasn't his thing.
"I can carry any if you want a few more."

She shook her head after tossing the pelts over her shoulder. "Nah. The rest still smell like dead things. Not something i really want to sleep on"
"I might keep an eye out though. Just incase anything else gets toss away i can use." She liked odds and ends some times.

Tukutu chuckled. "Okay, not wanting to smell like something dead, I get it." Kind of. He paused for a moment, but as she seemed ready to return back, there was no point in lingering.
"Mind if I walk back with you?" he asked. "And, has anyone given you problems yet? Some like to avoid newcomers, and others are a little...brash." He could think of a few that might leave her alone, at least for now. And then he could think of those that would like to try and irritate her. Like Mbezi. Why did Mafa's kid have to be so damn arrogant.

"It's not a pleasant smell after a while" Even if it did have it's uses some times. Hiding from something that wanted to eat you was pretty easy when you smelled bad.
"Don't see why not." She shook her head. "And no. Not yet. Haven't really run across anyone else except in passing." She'd just found her nice little next and had stayed there to clean.

He nodded, surprisingly happy that she had been left alone since coming. Then again, it was still the same day, if darker, so she might not run into anything until the next day. Mattered on how far she roamed out, too. Who knew, the hyena here were all a little weird.
"Well, I guess there hasn't been much time. You'll figure out who to avoid soon enough." He yawned, though not tired, and shook his head to fluff the hair on the back of his neck out. "Just because they're so damn annoying." Mbezi always came to mind, even if Tukutu had beat him in a duel. Stupid runt.
