His large pale frame crossed the pride lands confidently. Today was another of those days. A day when he would be claiming what he felt would probably be his last Banu. His harem was becoming quite large now and he really needed to start cutting back, but this banu. She was special. He had heard rumours of her and sought her out, she was beautiful, she tempted his taste buds and she was tainted.
Completely tainted. Her mother was an evil abuser, someone whom had abandoned her cubs in a bid to escape, someone who had abandoned her own cubs. He certainly wouldn't stand for it and he would make sure she NEVER even thought to leave, to run, to go any where in fact without his permission.
He knew where he had to go to get her and he was making a beeline for the place where he would pick her up. She was to come to his harem and she would like it. SHE WOULD NEVER LEAVE IT. A smile rose on his maw though it wasn't a nice smile. He was going to collect a thing, a thing which needed to be taught a very important lesson.

Today was a bleak day for Nesrin. When she awoke, her pad (she was past thinking of him as her father) took her aside and informed her that she would be given away to another pad. His name was Kwea. That was all Nesrin knew.
The decision was final.
After she heard the news, Nesrin went to the tree with the big roots where she used to seclude herself as a cub and lay down in the shade, for she was too big to fit comfortably into the crevice where she used to daydream. She felt shell shocked. What was she supposed to do? Should she go along quietly? Did she even have a choice? Nesrin buried her face in her paws, her tail beating the ground, too stoic to cry. Rana, the female serval, the only creature Nesrin considered a true friend, sat beside her, distraught and nervous. While Nesrin was almost a teenager, Rana knew that she was too young to be sent off to become the mate of an older male. How could Tariq - practically the girl's own father - do such a thing?
"I'll go with you, Nesrin. You won't have to do this alone," she said, nuzzling Nesrin's cheek. She hoped that would help.

Kwea's smile broadened as he saw her waiting there. Good, Tarik had sent her out just as he had promised. "Nesrin." He calls, making a beeline for the little banu. "I am Kwea, I shall be your pad from hence forth." She was young still, a little too young to join a harem really but he wanted her and here she was. He admired her for a moment, looking forlorn, lost, alone. She would get no sympathy from him.
"Up, come on I don't have all day, you need to move." He leans down and nips her at the top of her tail, a sharp, short snap that didn't draw blood but which would certainly sting.
He glanced at the serval, but cast her nout but a glance, if she was to come, he would just ignore her,s he seemed to be sitting very close to the young lioness. perhaps it was a pet? He shrugs his shoulders, it didn't matter, it was clearly unimportant as long as it stayed out of his way.
He nudges Nesrin again forcing her to her paws and shoving her bodily in the direction he had come. "I don't have all day to dally around here Nesrin, Move!"

Nesrin peered at Kwea over her paws. His image was blurred by tears. The dark red of his mane, dark as blood, made her ill. Still a child yet, she curled tightly around herself, too frightened to move. Out of the corner of her eye she saw Rana bristle and back away. Being so small, there was nothing Rana could do to protect her from Kwea and they both knew it.
She couldn't help it. When Kwea nipped her tail she hissed and scooted away. Even Tariq never bit her. Suddenly she felt herself being pushed to her feet. She grit her teeth, fur bristling as she whimpered and stumbled forward, her ears pressed flat against her skull and tears stinging her eyes. She stood there, tail between her legs, and flinched when Kwea raised his voice.
Meanwhile Rana stood off to the side, her tail thrashing and her fur standing on end. This was awful. Inwardly she cursed herself, for she it was useless to attempt to protect Nesrin. Perhaps if she was a male serval she would have some chance of reasoning with the new pad. She feared that if she tried to speak out the male would turn his aggression on her or attack Nesrin again. For now, she could only hope that Nesrin would snap out of it and follow his orders. That was the only thing that could save her now.
If only Nesrin would move!

Kwea raised a paw and flicked Nesrin around the head. "Are your brains too scrambled to listen girl? Move it." He growls "If you ever hiss at me again I will make you regret it." He whispers knocking her forwards once again. "You need to get back to my den and I need to get on patrol so lift your paws up or I will drag you there." He growls, his tail lashing about.
His temper, clearly on a short fuse and looking for any excuse had sizzled already. He wanted her to his den, he wanted her there now and he wanted to be away before his shift was over.
Leaning down he bites her back leg, aiming for the soft flesh where he knew it would hurt the most without actually breaking the skin. "Do I need to tell you again?" He grumbles turning to walk a few steps, not waiting for her, if she couldn't get the hint and he had to turn back, well she would find out quickly enough what his wrath could be like.

"Ow! I'm sorry! I'm sorry!" Nesrin whined, the tears flowing down her face. When Kwea bit her again she let out a sharp whine and quickly got to moving. The pain brought her back to the present in a heightened state of fear. As they walked, she kept her head low and stuck close to his side, walking just behind his front paw where she hoped she would not be bitten again.
Why was he doing this to her? Why was he being so mean? She didn't do anything to deserve it! Or had she?
Sometimes Nesrin believed there was something wrong with her, something she couldn't see. Maybe something about her essence had upset Kwea. For now all Nesrin could do was sniff back her tears and hang her head. She was too shy and frightened to speak to Kwea.
Rana skirted behind Kwea and ran to Nesrin's side. She rubbed against Nesrin's leg, hoping to comfort her, but looking at her face it was difficult to tell whether she received any strength from her touch. Nesrin could be difficult to console at times. Perhaps it was simply in her nature to be sad. Still, that was no excuse to stop trying.
As they walked, Rana glanced over her shoulder at Tariq's den. While Tariq mostly ignored Nesrin her harem mothers had always been kind to her, even when Nesrin was reluctant to accept kindness. Even though she had lived in this area her whole life she could never understand how mothers could be so cruel to their daughters. If Nesrin were her cub, she would never allow her to mate to someone like Kwea. Rana hung her head. Of course she would miss Nesrin's harem mothers, too. Today was a sad day for both of them.

Padding along in silence Kwea let a smile raise on his maw. It was almost a wicked smile, he wanted her and now he had her he had power over her. She was beautiful, that was for sure and he appreciated that beauty. It had been one of the reasons he wanted her, the other of course, was to straighten her out. To make her obey his every order.
He stopped outside of his den and sat growling at the little female "Sit, shut up and speak when you are spoken to." He clears his throat and smiles a smile that changed from something twisted and frightening, to a calm, contented sigh. "Kifa, Amara, Thuraya.." He paused for a moment, should he invite Koko, he decided yes "Koko, leave the cubs in the den I have someone for you to meet." He smiles a very contented smile. though he turned to nudge the little female at his side.
"Sit up straight and stop moping." He grumbles, "My Banu are very good I don't want you tainting them with your gripes." He lifts his head once again and waits, waits for his Banu waits to introduce the new female to the rest of his harem.

Kifaranga was hisitant to leave her cubs, she could tell they were trouble seekers already, but she dare not make Kwea wait. She told them to be good before heading out the cave entrance and sitting before him and the new banu. She was barley and adolescent more a cub then anything was Kwea taking the poor little thing in as a cub or a banu?
"Yes, Kwea." Kifa chirped with a smile to both him and the little girl.

Amara playfully poked her nose at one of Thuraya's many cubs before gracefully making her way to the mouth of the den. A soft smile rested on her muzzle; she was completely in her element here, assisting the banu with their cubs and keeping a careful eye on Kifa and Thuraya. Should they want for anything, Amara would have it brought to them immediately.
Seating herself near Kifa, Amara's ears perked. "Kwea," she asked questioningly, eyeing the lovely young lioness he had brought to the den. Her heart ached for the little one, but she dared not question her Pad's motives.Koko moved to sit next to her mother, the juvenile lioness glancing with distaste at the newcomer. "Someone for me to meet, Pad Kwea?" Though young, she knew her place in the pride but that didn't stop her from wanting Kwea's attentions all for herself. Eternally jealous of each of Kwea's other Banu, and especially her mother Beybanu Amara, Koko was visibly displeased by the thought of yet another Banu striving for Kwea's attentions. She held her tongue, as it were, and merely waited for introductions. The only outward proof of her unhappiness was the incessant, irritable flick and sway of her tail.

"Yes, p-pad Kwea," Nesrin whispered, her voice barely audible above her trembling breath. She sat down in front of Kwea and stifled a hiccup. Even though Kwea terrified her, she clung to his side when faced with so many strangers. Kwea was a large, powerful male and something about that comforted her, in spite of the fear he inspired.
Nesrin hesitantly lifted her head. Tears darkened her rosy cheeks, her puffy golden eyes rimmed with red veins. Everyone was staring at her. She bit her lip. She wanted to speak to please Kwea, so he would not strike her again, but her throat was swollen with fear. Crowds always made her nervous. Between her natural anxiety and the stress Kwea laid upon her she barely had the strength to silence her tears. How she managed to stop crying for a moment, she did not know. Only the gods could grant her the will. When she spotted Koko’s twitching tail she quickly averted her eyes. She had only just arrived and already someone disliked her.
To comfort herself, Nesrin tried to pretend that she was somewhere far away from here. She closed her eyes and imagined herself far away in the rogue lands with her mother. When she opened them again the strangers were still there, but she held the fantasy in her mind and clung to it with all her strength.
Rana stood behind Nesrin to Kwea's side. There was little she could do to protect her from the staring eyes and the constant menace of her new pad, but she could wait and watch. Once Nesrin was alone she would come back and comfort her.

Thuraya counted the cubs one last time before she exited the den, unlike Kifa she knew her cubs would be well behaved in her absence, she never had to worry about them, they had her mother's manners. She slid from the den gracefully already have gained her slim tiny figure back from the birth of the cubs. No one would have known she had had five cubs only a short time ago.
She came to settle on the other side of Kifa a smile on her face. Thuraya was a very sweet girl, and when she saw the new female sitting before her she felt her heart skip a beat, she was so young and so sad. But at the same time she knew the female must not know her place, something perhaps she would be able to teach her.
"Good afternoon Kwea" she greated her pad sweetly. The love in her voice was obvious.

Kwea smiles between each of his females, his blood red eyes fixing on each one, even the juvenile Koko whom he had decided to include in this. he knew she would appreciate it.
"This is Nesrin, she will be joining us here in my den. You must all help her t learn and she will be helping to feed and raise the cubs." He nudges Nesrin to her paws. "Nesrin, this is Amara, she is my Beybanu, when I am not here you will obey her, am I understood?" He growls quietly at the young female nudging her forwards once again.
"Kifaranga, Thuraya and Koko, if Amara is not around you obey one of them instead. Am I understood?" He growls quietly, he knew that he very rarely displayed his anger before his other Banu these days, they had all pleased him in one way or another, but Nesrin was not on his good list and he wanted the other females to know this.
"Do not keep my banu waiting Nesrin introduce yourself to them."

Nesrin said hello to each banu in turn. She bowed her head before Amarma, partially to show respect but mostly because she found her intimidating. She could be very easily intimidated. Meeting so many new faces all at once was almost too much for her little heart to handle. She did her best to stop herself from shaking and tried to be mindful of her posture and not slouch when she introduced herself to each of Kwea's banu.
Inside she felt quite terrified and simply wanted to get this over with as quickly as possible. When she looked at Amara, Kifa, Thura and Koko her orange eyes seemed to look right past them, as if they were no more than stones. The only way she could get through this was to disengage from everything.
When Kwea asked if she understood, Nesrin nodded shallowly and looked at him, though she never directly met his eyes.
Finally the moment came. Kwea told Nesrin to introduce herself. Her tail flicked back and fourth anxiously, but by now she had had time to collect herself. The tears on her cheeks were a little drier. She did not try to brush them away. Her voice was soft and would have been pleasant to hear if it was not so strained. She spoke hastily, eager to finish introductions. "M-my name is Nesrin. I used to belong to Vizier Tariq's harem b-but now Pad Kwea is my master. It's nice to m-meet you all. I h-hope we get along."

Kifaranga blinked a gave a half curious have worried look to Kwea as he growled his instructions to the little banu. She was, but a cub, what could she have done to up set him so already?
One thing she still wasn't over was Amara being Beybanu. Without realizing it she narrowed her eyes at Amara as Kwea introduced her as such. Before looking away, she knew she wasn't the beybanu type, but she had decided that the only reason Amara got the position was because she was older and more level headed then Kifaranga not because she was his favorite.
Kifa's eyes went back to Nesrin, her brow showed her concern for the young one. She was so afraid and her face was tear stained. Kifa remembered when Kwea had brought the same emotions to her face. She wanted to snatch the young banu up and place her beside her cubs and love on her. Perhaps that was her mother's instincts going wild, but something was just not right about how Kwea was reacting to her. Kifa would pry about this later, with nothing to prove to Kwea anymore or then reminding him she loved him. She did not mind pushing his buttons a little.
"Welcome to Kwea's family Nesrin, do not worry despite our occasional troubles." Kifa couldn't help, but glance at Amara and Kwea as she said that. "We all care for each other and as long as you behave I'm sure we will a get along just fine." Kifa smiled at the Nesrin but didn't move to touch her or greet her in any other way. It had been a decent amount of time since she had since Kwea in any sorta of negative mood and it was making her nervous. Her body language even showed it, even though she loved him deeply she was still a bit scared of him. Kifa's ears perked trying to listen into the den she wished her cubs were more like Thuraya's both in size and manners. But there size didn't seem to play a roll in them not getting in trouble...but they seemed quite for now. So she tried to settle her nerves till she was sent back to the den.

Amara was careful to hide her displeasure at this situation. Why was Kwea acting so dominant towards a mere cub? He seemed so furious, and she wasn't sure precisely what to do to ease his aggression, or if there was anything she COULD do to calm his temper. As it was, she nodded her head in greeting, her eyes warm and her voice soft and calming as she spoke.
"Greetings, Banu Nesrin. I am quite happy that you are joining us. With the birth of so many cubs it will be nice to have another able body to help with watching over them." Amara was trying to soothe the situation as best she could; there would be a time and place to seek out Kwea's motives, a time when no Banu were about to hear.
"Another Banu?" Koko did not try to keep the poison from her tongue. Though a mere youngster, Koko did not have the sweet disposition of her mother. She eyed the new Banu with distaste and even dared to rise to her feet in order to walk around Nesrin as if sizing up the other. If Kwea didn't like her, why did he bring her into their home. It simply wasn't fair- Nesrin was getting all this attention and it left a bad, bad taste in Kokojicho's mouth. She sat once more, next to her mother, and lifted her nose in the air, "I hope she stops crying, Kwea. And will she always stutter? It does get on my nerves."
