FN is selling FNP-9 and FNP-40 handguns in both standard-cap and CA-cap magazines, black and flat dark earth, to NRA instructors for damn near half-price; $370 instead of $650. So if you had any interest in an FNP pistol, now's your chance to do it, while supplies last.

Unfortunately, if I was going to get an FNP, it'd be the 45 Tactical, and that's not included in this offer, so damn.

I don't really need a 9, but I'd still jump on that if I were able.

Also, Buckner, someone's stalking you on /k/.

FN is still making $100-170 on the sale of the pistol.

an FNP9 in FDE is probably going to be my next handgun.

it has everything I want in a modern pistol pretty much.

I like glocks and all but they lack features Im more used to.

FNP is glock like, but has all the features I want.

mainly external hammer, manual safety,

oh, and it doesnt have that type of safety trigger the glock has. that part about the glock kinda bothered me a bit also

I've never noticed anything odd about the Glock safety. At least, not functionally. I've always found it humorous that that little safety switch is the only thing keeping the trigger from pulling itself once the slide is removed.

thats what worries me really, I wont carry one for that reason.

thats not all of it though, I have younger siblings in the house and I also go shooting and bring friends along, not all of them are very knowledgeable on safety...

im not the kind of guy who would keep a revolver on an empty cylinder out of concern for safety (keeping the hammer down is good enough)
but I do believe that a manual safety is a must have on an automatic.

I'm okay with it. I'd prefer a manual safety, but the idea is a worthy one. The worst thing ever is to pull up a weapon, aim, squeeze... and the trigger won't move. That will NEVER happen with a Glock unless the pin already dropped (or you ******** up an aftermarket trigger job... speaking from experience).

But I'd like a safety, personally. I'd CCW with the safety off, but I'd store it cocked and locked.

Another ugly POS that's more complicated than it needs to be brought to you by Heckler und Koch, except we don't pronounce the und, we're far too busy for that.
