The sandy borders of the Firekin, she hardly ever came out here, she hated the temperature drop that she felt on the borders, her fur so thin despite it's colour that she felt the slightest chill the moment she hit the borders. Still, sometimes this was the best place to hunt. Not that she was really hunting, she was more, contemplating.
Having recently sent two of her sons out in to the world because they were Huria, she was wondering if they were cold. She wondered a lot more about the things that could happen to her sons in the rogue lands and it was very uncomfortable for her to do so. She didn't like to think about them, she had hardly thought about them while they were in the pride but now they were gone she thought about them often. What a pain in the arse it was getting maternal instincts, when it was just too late to do anything about them.

Sala wasn't the brightest star in the sky by any means. More often than not she just walked in one direction for the entirety of a day, and when the sun rose, she'd pick a direction and walk that way for the next day. Sala supposed that was the way that life was intended to be lived, and that's how she found herself where she did today, on the border of the Firekin lands.
Not that she knew where she was, or that the lands she faultlessly walked upon belonged to any particular pride. Those kinds of things just didn't register to Sala.
As it was, the white jackal merely kept walking as she did every day before the sun set and she found a place to sleep for the night. The ground was her constant companion, unwavering and silent.

The large black female turned her head at the sound of quiet paws. Jackals walked so quietly it wasn't a surprise that this one was very close to her by the time she noticed it was there. Of course, usually she would have noticed but she was so distracted by the thoughts in her head that she had managed to miss a white jackal padding along the borders.
Getting to her paws she growled quietly. "You might want to turn the other way little dog. You are fair game here." She flattens her ears back. She wasn't in the mood to hunt, she wasn't in the mood to be friendly either though so chasing off a jackal seemed like a perfectly good game. Or at least a way of relieving her stresses. In truth she knew of some firkin and their jackal companions, apparently they were very handy for hunting out small lizards and such.
The mood for making a friend of this one though was gone from her, she just wanted to be alone and this little dog was interrupting her morbid mood.

Sala wasn't really fond of lions, especially big ones like this dark female. This big, dark.. mean female. Sala licked her nose and pondered the lion's words.
"Fair game," she stated, merely repeating the words for the sake of repeating them. Sala wasn't quite sure what it meant, but it didn't sound fun. Sounded downright sinister and mean, but Sala didn't appear to be worried.
"Where am I," Sala whispered, not really a question posed to the lioness but more of a statement of fact; she wasn't sure where she was, as it happened on a near daily basis. She did take a few steps back from the lioness for safety's sake, though.

Jyotika snorted, everyone knew where they were when they were here. Clearly this dog was stupid. "You are on the borders of the Firekin lands, the motojami'simo. Foolish things enter at their own risk." She raised a brow at the jackal, she had considered having a jackal, or taking on in, this one certainly did not have enough brain power to be of use though. Perhaps not all jackals were useful.
"Don't you make sure you are safe before you wander places? Surely something as small as yourself should know not to wander so close to a land full of lions whom you don't know?" She raised a brow, her opinion of jackals was dropping by the second.

"Firekin lands," Sala sing-songed, taking another step away from the lioness. It was clear that the jackal was not all 'upstairs' and it was clearer by the second. There was one thing about the lioness that Sala did like, though, and that was her color. She was a very pretty lion. Well, as far as lions went, anyway. "I've never been here before."
Her tail wagged in almost gleeful excitement as Sala continued, "Nope, never been here before. Never at the Firekin lands. You're big, but you look pretty." She looked confused for a moment as she chewed over the whole 'safe before wandering' thing. "I go where the sun takes me. When the sun sleeps, Sala sleeps." She made it sound as if the lioness should know that already, and it was clear that Sala found the lioness ignorant for not understanding the whole situation.

Jyotika fluffed a little, she liked to be called pretty, she knew she was beautiful already though so really the dog was but stating the obvious. "perhaps you should consider being a little more careful? You know if you slept here you could just be eaten. This is not a land for the stupid or weak of heart." She growls. She was seriously considering chasing the little pale jackal. She wasn't hungry but a little run would do her at least some good she was sure, almost certain it could chase away her doldrums.

Sala grew serious as she pondered over the words of the lioness. "You are right. Sala should be more careful of where she goes." Her eyes lit up. "One time a hyena bit off some of my tail fur because they were not very nice." Her ears swung back to rest against her head. "I didn't even do anything except ask if I could have some of their supper." Oh, the indignities.
Sala grew quiet after the growls, though. She didn't like growls. That meant something bad was probably going to happen, and Sala didn't like bad things happening. She decided another step back was in her best interests, and did so swiftly. "Where do Firekin lands end? Maybe Sala will just sleep there tonight."

Okay, this dog really was a foolish thing. It would be a good thing to end the little things life. "Turn around and go back the way you came and you might not run in to anyone who wants to simply eat you. I'm in half a mind just to end your life now, clearly you don't have the brain power to run it yourself." She flickers her tail and moves in to a slight crouch, if she could be bothered to chase the female she might a well chase to kill, that would probably be a waste though, jackal's were so stringy they didn't taste very nice.
A little huff rolls over her lips. It would just be a waste of her time. "Just take my advice and run back the way you have come and try not to come this way again, perhaps next time you will find someone who will not spare your silly little life."

Though Sala was likely the most dense jackal on the planet, she wasn't beyond the ultimatum the lioness was offering. It just didn't make sense, though. Sala never turned around and went the other way during sun-up! She went straight in one direction for the whole day, slept, and then picked another direction to head the next day!
Then again, being killed wasn't sounding so wonderful, Sala thought to herself. She pressed her lips together and squeezed her eyes shut before speaking to the large lioness. "I will leave. I do not want to be supper, or even a snack for someone." No, she didn't want to be eaten. That wouldn't be a pleasant end, Sala was sure of it.
She backed away from the lioness before turning around, not wanting the female to bite at her tail. That had hurt the last time it happened. "I guess it was nice to meet you, I should be going now." Polite, stupidly so. Sala wrinkled her nose and turned away from the lioness, breaking into a run that carried her in the opposite direction.

Jyotika snorted and shook her head. Stupid thing. She turns and heads back towards the dens herself. This little conversation with the stupid creature had not changed her rather foul mood. She'd have to find something else to enlighten her mood.
"Just stay away." She called behind her picking up her paws and braking in to a run across the dunes, perhaps a good run could put her mind at ease. Perhaps.
