OMG, is that even possible?! There are a lot of manga and anime that a lot of people don't know about or have been forgotten due to newer series. This includes series that have stopped coming out and/or the authors are no longer writting their stories.
Can you think of any manga/anime that seem to have just disappeared off the face of the Earth?
My list of the forgotten:
-Immortal Rain -Orphen (the manga) -Dark Metro -My Dead Girlfriend -Time Guardian

well, this being mostly so since i have a few series that doesn't seem to have any continuation;
From up Above -i dunno what happened here QWAN -Tokyopop decided to quit the serie King of Hell -it's said to have been delayed Immortal Rain -hell know what's happened, but haven't gotten any more from Tokyopop for a few years Get Backers -the liscense ended or something Inu Yasha -our Swedish publisher decided that it didn't sell well enough and quit it Alichino -i've no idea what's happenet to the rest of it Incubus -great series, but i've not heard any more about it ._. Yami no Matsuei -too much gore in the series, Tokyopop quit it.
well, those are the ones i own that i can remember right now, then there's
X/1999 -it wasn't allowed to be published more since it was too violent Clover -i don't know what happened there really >_>... Zombie Powder -Tite Kubo decided that Bleach was more important, and he got out of his depression he had while writing Zombie powder.
-those are the manga series i know of right now at least =_='
*edit;
and it's not just so that they've been lost or forgotten; people barely knew of them in the first place -so they didn't get as popular as the big series we have today, such as One Piece, Naruto and Bleach.

wellll... unless we finnish off his whole family and make it appear like an accident; i don't think that's gonna happen
he wrote it more or less because he was depressed, just as that whaccko created Neon genesis Evangelion while being depressed >.>
now Bleach is the only thing he's really passioned about, i figure so sad though, Zombie Powder had everything i wanted in a gooooood serie, both excessive horror, creepyness, and a weird humor to go with it T3T

The sad thing is... when a manga is completed, it's usually easily forgotten. That's why manga/anime such as Naruto or Bleach are popular: because they're ongoing for more than 3 years probably. Even if I think it's kinda unfair cause manga usually gets boring and repetitive after a long time being ongoing.

when you say 'long' as per so, just about how long to you mean then?
say... 40-50 volumes of the series, that long?
well.... i didn't think DragonBall ever got boring, neither One Piece or Inu Yasha... Naruto on the other hand, couldn't bore me more. i got tired of it by the time Jiraiya was fighting.. some guy.... or something, just -just lame >_>...
i think it's when the battles, and the seriousness is taking over the humor, that's when stuff just gets boring, repetitive, and generally not fun anymore >3>
