basically what i've done was taken my old M4 bayonet and melted off the plastic handle.
next I proceeded to bend the hand guard and barrel ring upward (it still fits nicely in the sheath)
then I went ahead and wrapped the handle. I could have used paracord but I decided to experiment with a little foliage/sage green boot lace and wrapped it in a twisted fashion. this allowed it to strech some and it actually has pretty much adhered itself to the tang now
I left a portion of the tang bare as a sort of glass breaker.
also I should probably mention that the barrel ring actually functions a lot better than jimping and allows perfect grip for a very forceful thrust
so there you have it, an old M4 bayonet re-purposed into a thrower/fighting/field knife
opinions?
