CONTEST WEEEEE!!
Here's how it goes:
1. Enter one character design you've done before (preferably something recent)
2. Keep this thread alive
3. Get other people in because if i only get 2 or 3 (unless i reeeeaaallly like one's style) i'll scrap this and try again
4. I'll announce the winner either this Wednesday or Thursday (Dec 1 or 2) .
"What is the prize?" you may ask DRAMATIC DRUM ROLL PLEASE......ah...right...typing things...well just imagine a dramatic drum roll then.
70,000 gaia gold!
Okay, i know that in all reality that really isn't worth much but it's all i've got lol.
Good luck 8D
EDIT: it's come to my attention that if y'all knew what you were going to be designing 8D
The first paragraph is how i am portraying the character in my story and what follows is my research 8D
-Samael [Sah-mah-el]- (Honestly he's my fave)
an odd angel, while most Angels seem to look at everything with passion, he looks at everything with pure thought and calculation. he is born fourth (after Satanel, Michael and Gabriel) along side Lilith which is his lover (imagine them as the Angle's equivalent of the biblical Adam & Eve) He looks like a young male (probably around 20 or 25) with long black hair and a /very/ feminine body and face (Link). The weapon he wields is a spear, at the between the base of the blade and at the start of the shaft are two eyes (back to back) and each pupil is made up of a single ruby. When he wields his spear it acts as almost a separate entity, moving around and blocking other attacks almost as if by instinct. when not subjected to Physical Law the Spear can act independently even when not being held by him, but when Physical Law is implemented he must remain in contact for it to be able to react.
Samael - The poison (or severity) of god.
An angel of righteous punishment, and the "evil" angel of death (take this however you want, i believe it means non-peaceful deaths) He is charged with Seducing Eve as the serpent, and also into sleeping with him producing Cain, he is also charged with the staying of Abraham's dagger when he was supposed to sacrifice his son as a test from god and as the one who wrestled with Jacob. It was once believed that the dark spots of the moon where his excrement (though if angels do not eat, what could he excrete?). He is attributed to be the 5th archangel in the Kabbalistic Tradition. He is an angel of balance and dualism. Being created alongside Lilith he represents the Masculine aspect of yin-yang. He is said to be the ruler of the 5th Heaven and is served by 2 million angels. He is a frightening figure to behold, in the Ascension of Moses (part of the Aggadah) he is described as such...
"There was another angel in the seventh heaven, different in appearance from all the others, and of frightful mien. His height was so great, it would have taken five hundred years to cover a distance equal to it, and from the crown of his head to the soles of his feet he was studded with glaring eyes, at the sight of which the beholder fell prostrate in awe. "This one," said Metatron, addressing Moses, "is Samael, who takes the soul away from man." "Whither goes he now?" asked Moses, and Metatron replied, "To fetch the soul of Job the pious." Thereupon Moses prayed to God in these words, "O may it be Thy will, my God and the God of my fathers, not to let me fall into the hands of this angel."
Him being covered in eyes shows he is an angel of intelligence (the eye normaly represents knowledge and enlightenment) and thus he seems (to me) to probably be slightly detached from most things emotionally.
He is also the angel that is connected to the planet mars, a celestial body connected to war and blood shed, but this is "of god".
“...my entire domination is based on killing. And if I accept the Torah, there will no longer be wars. My rule is over the planet Maadim (Mars) that indicates spilling of blood.” - The Zohar
Another reason why i call him "detached" is because in Gnostic tradition he is called "the blind god"
-Gabriel [gah-bree-el]- (feel free to pronounce these as you normally would though)
Gabriel is a cute, short angelic girl with fluffy light brown (almost blonde) hair. She has freckles in a band under her eyes going across her pixie like nose. She tends to annoy Michael because her personality is the antithesis of his. she's fun and can be loud but god help you if you are on the opposite battle line of her. She uses a bow for both close and long range combat. The bow looks like thin clouds have wrapped themselves around her hand and her arrows are made of what seems like living diamond that ripples like liquid.
Gabriel- the strong one of god (or the hero of god)
Gabriel is one of three angels mentioned in the bible (the other two being Michael and Raphael). he was the angel that brought the message to Mary and Joseph about the birth of Jesus and when the women bring gifts to the tomb of Jesus he announces the Resurrection. He is also charged with the foretelling of the birth of John the Baptist. He is normally seen as a medium between humans and god, either bring a message like delivering the Koran to Mohamed or helping to explain one like in the book of Daniel where Daniel is contemplating visions and Gabriel appears
Dan 8:15–19 (MKJV): And it happened when I, even I Daniel, had seen the vision, and sought for the meaning, then, behold, there stood before me the form of a man. (16) And I heard a man's voice between the banks of Ulai, which called and said, Gabriel, make this one understand the vision.
(17) So he came near beside my place. And when he came, I was afraid and fell on my face. But he said to me, Understand, O son of man, for the vision is for the time of the end. (1 cool And as he was speaking with me, I was stunned, on my face toward the ground. But he touched me and set me upright. (19) And he said, Behold, I will make you know what shall happen in the last end of the indignation. For it is for the time appointed for the end
Keep in mind "form of a man" probably means something humanoid in general.
Luke 1:26-37
(26) And in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God into a city of Galilee, named Nazareth, (27) to a virgin betrothed to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David. And the virgin's name was Mary. (2 cool And the angel came in to her and said, Hail, one receiving grace, the Lord is with you. Blessed are you among women.
Gabriel is the angel of message and strength. He watches over us and guides us with a gentle hand. And in the end of days he will blow the trumpet to start Armageddon.
-Michael- (My-kul)
The perfect warrior. he never tries to pretend, he is who he is. Born second after Satanel. He is intelligent but his thoughts are simple and acts on impulse most of the time. He is driven by righteousness and a sense of duty to his Father and family. His hair is cut in an A Line Style and is a Strawberry Blonde. To those who don't know him he seems angry but Gabriel and Raphael know that is simply him worrying about everyone else. The weapon he wields is a 5ft x 2ft blazing broadsword. The weapon simply sprung forth in this form, he did not attempt to shape it or control it, just like his personality he just let it form on its own. Despite its gargantuan size and weight he wields it as easily as any one handed sword. He's only used two hands once, when he cast the final blow that fell Satanel out of heaven.
Michael [My-Kah-el]- He how is like god
Michael is one of three angels mentioned in the bible (the other two being Gabriel and Raphael)
Daniel 12:1
"And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book."
he is seen here as a "prince" of israel, one who will stand up for the the chosen children and protect them when they are in trouble.
Michael is a warrior archangel and he is patient. He struggles with the angel Samael for it is said when Samael was cast out of heaven he gripped onto Michael's wings to try and pull him down with him (probably wanted help and was just holding onto something for dear life)
Azazel (Ah-zay-zul)
Young and fair haired angel with cloven feet and goat eyes. He seems to constantly have a smirk upon his face, like he knows something others do not. He is usually seen wandering about with Beliel. He loves to listen to Beliel's long winded speeches, though he's probably just making fun of him on the inside as he listens. He walks about with an air of importance and smug-ness
In Leviticus it says "and Aaron shall cast lots upon the two goats, one lot for the Lord and the other lot for Azazel. And Aaron shall present the goat on which the lot fell for the Lord, and offer it as a sin offering; but the goat on which the lot fell for Azazel shall be presented alive before the Lord to make atonement over it, that it may be sent away into the wilderness to Azazel."
Aaron being Moses' brother, btw
He is a goatlike demon that seems to enjoy controlling things from "behind the scenes". He is probably connected with the desert goat demons/jin that the hebrews were warned not to worship.
When Azazel and some other angels descended to earth because of their love of the human females they began to teach them secret heavenly arts. Azazel taught the humans the art of war, and he taught females about cosmetics and the art of seduction. It was also because of him that people learned the art of witchcraft. He and the others bred with the females and created a race called "The Nephelhiem".
Genesis 6:4 "The Nephilim were on the earth in those days—and also afterward—when the sons of God went to the daughters of men and had children by them. They were the heroes of old, men of renown"
but also forbidden hybrids. Gabriel was sent by god to confuse these beings and cause them to be at war with one another. (ask me sometime about easter island, i have an interesting theory )and after this war azazel was "chained" in a valley of fire [sounds like a desert to me].
Beliel (Belial)- Sadly no information as of yet.
