At the Barricades of Modmas

[Sakura Latte]

Her fingers moved freely across the keys on the Baby Grande piano, creating music. The song that she was playing was Pachelbel's Canon in D. Suddenly in the middle of her playing, she heard a noise from outside that piqued her attention. She stopped playing and glanced around her home questionably. What was that curious noise? Pushing back her seat, she stood up and walked to the window. There was frost on the window, so she had to wipe some of the frost away in order to see what was going on. Then she saw it. A small dark-green grunny in the middle of the streets. Its eyes were a bloodthirsty red, its lips curled back to reveal its ravenous and hungry teeth. There was nothing agreeable or desirable about this little creature at all.

Immediately, Sakura knew what was going on. She had heard about it the past few days from her fellow Gaians. Gambino had planned on attacking Modmas. No way was Sakura going to stand for that. She put on her green scarf from the year before and walked outside. The grunny took instant notice of her and growled ferociously as it started to charge towards her.

Quickly in response, Sakura pulled out a sword and began charging at the grunny as well.

Blood spilled from Sakura as the grunny dodged the blades of her sword and managed to bite her on the right shoulder. The Victorian-dressed girl staggered backward, wincing in pain as she clutched her shoulder with her left hand. Troublesome creature, this. The grunny continued to snarl at her. Once again, Sakura lunged for the grunny with her sword.

"WHY. DO. I. KEEP. MISSING?!" Sakura screamed with frustration as she swept swinging her sword, only to have the grunny dodge her and bite her.

Slash, slash, slash! The sword's blade danced through the night air as Sakura attempted to hack at the grunny before her.

"YES!" Sakura cried triumphantly, happy that she landed a blow this time. The grunny staggered backwards, weakened a little, but still not down yet. It snarled at Sakura as blood spilled from its side. Sakura gripped her sword tightly as she went for the grunny a second time.
