How long have you been a furry fan?

Ever since I was a little girl I always had a room full of really cute, soft, furry animals. I thought animals and furries were far more interesting than humans, because of their ears, strength, beauty, grace, and personalities.

I am not a fan of furries, like any kind of fans they are annoying. However I have been a fan of cartoon animals all my life and joined the furry fandom upon discovering it close to 15 years ago.

Well I've been a part of the fandom longer anyone else! Being the reincarnation of Loki, I can say that in my past lives I was definitely one swingin' hep wolf. Dun' be jealous though, my past lives may make me the oldest as wisest furry, but I'm still a furry.

Okay, seriously though, I got into it when I hit puberty. Wasn't sexual, and it developed out of an interest in werewolves. Viola! Wolf furry. razz

I was kinda raised on Disney and Warner Brothers, but anthros didn't become a particular interest of mine until I was about ten or eleven years old. I've long since gotten over thinking they're the most super-awesome-mazing-tastic things ever, but I still have a number of active roleplays with some old internet buddies involving anthro characters.

I've never considered myself a furry because I never really took my anthro characters any more seriously than my non-anthros. I just like bright colors and fluffy things.

I tend to use anthro to refer to humanoids. I don't really think of quads as anthro unless they live human lifestyles (like My Little Ponies). Most of my non-anthro characters are human, but I have a few aliens, "real" animals, etc. I also have a fair number of elves and mythical hybrids like centaurs, naga, etc.

Definitely around the age of 15-16 when I read my first furry fanfic. Since then I've been indulging in readings, drawings, and etc. Can't get enought of it.. xp
