This is a pride-wide event, but it's (obviously) open to people without a member in the pride. Feel free to check things out and enter as you see fit. If you don't know anything about the Suka'fumo please make sure you check out the pride forum before entering. There are some things about class structure you might need to know about! For the rest of you, let's carry ourselves into the main event.
-- The Celebration --
The whole pride has been in high spirits after the recent birth of the king and queen's first, completely legitimate, litter. The colors of the cubs are lovely, and they all seem healthy and very energetic. Perfect little potential rulers of the pride. Indeed, with their birth, a time of happiness and peace seemed to have settled over the Suka'Fumo. The nobles, while pleased with the amount of purple in the cubs, are slowly but surely coming to terms with the fact that their king is not as set on keeping the purple hierarchy of the pride as previous rulers. A nearly completely white queen had been their first hint, naturally. The influx of non-purple lions, jarring at first, has become something tolerable, perhaps even accepted by some of the younger purple pride members. However, not everyone is ready to let this new king change their way of life. Some of the older nobles still resent the groundlings, and the others who don't have purple in their coats. These creatures, with no social standing, mean nothing to them.
Still, even with their bitterness, they, too, are enjoying the time of relative calm within the pride.
Recently, two new groups of lions have entered the pride, neither one connected with the other. The first group was a large band of wanderers, led by a charismatic yellow lion. With him came a brother and sister, a quiet rogue and a strange female. Oh, and another female, who seemed to have taken a fancy to adopting cubs along whatever travels they had been on as a group. This small band of lions brought with them a mini-army of cubs, some older than others, but no two looking quite enough alike to be related. Bwana, though confused as to how these cubs came to be a unit, allowed them all into his pride with open paws. After all, in this time of great joy, how could he not be welcoming?
Shortly after their arrival, another group came to the pride. This one, Bwana couldn't find himself quite as pleased about. Leading the small trio was a former war council member to his father- a cruel, proud lion with not a shred of compassion in his heart for non-purple lions. This lion, who Bwana had grown up loathing, came with a plea, not a protest, begging refuge in the pride he had once called home. Suspicious, the kind did let the other know about the changes in the pride, carefully explaining his position on peace rather than strict obedience. The lion explained that he would do anything to be allowed into his home. He'd even brought back two newcomers, hoping the fact that he was advertising the pride might boost his trust rating a little. It didn't, but Bwana was a forgiving sort, granting him and his purple companions access to the pride as members.
With these two groups now getting settled into the pride, learning and re-learning their ways, the celebrations only grew. Still, there was a sense of foreboding hovering above the joy, waiting for the right moment to strike.
One member of the pride did not want to celebrate. They wanted to rule.

2. No discouraging others, thank you. That includes cheering for friends too excessively.
3. Obviously, if it isn't allowed on Gaia, it isn't allowed here.
4. As long as you meet the requirements, you may apply for as many as you'd like!
5. You will only win ONE from this contest. (That does not include The Lost event or the Cast Yourself event.)
6. Grammar and spelling are counted, to an extent.
7. There is no word limit. Likewise, there is no minimum.
8. Unless the meta plot determines it, these SoA may NEVER leave the pride.
9. Some of these characters MAY die in this event. Applying for them means you understand that.
10. If no one I feel works for the character, I will find another way to hand them out.
11. There will be RP involved in this plot, so do not apply if you're looking for sig candy.
12. Editing is allowed, until the contest closes.
13. You may ask for RP partners in thread.
14. I reserve the right to take these SoA away if any of the above rules are broken.
If there's something I've forgotten, feel free to let me know.
I may or may not update these rules in the future.

This is the lion that brought the massive group of newbies, young and old, into the pride. He seems to be a bright, kind-hearted lion who wants only the best for his make-shift family. However, Bwana has only just met this strange new lion, and things are not always as they appear. The purple king can't help but feel a little uneasy around this fellow, like there's something going on inside that mind he's just not aware of. A secret motive for being in the pride in the first place. Is it just because he's a paranoid king, or is there really something to be worried about with this guy?

These two are followers of the yellow lion, and have come to the pride without really knowing what it's all about. They heard from their leader that the place was alive with music and entertainment, and so far, that seems to be the case. But they are always talking with another, almost to the point where others have to wonder what they're saying to one another. Are they really that close, or is something else going on that only they're aware of? Whatever the case, they seem pleased with the pride, for the moment, and enjoy engaging the pride members in various ways. Particularly, they like the groundlings.

Having joined the group of wanderers very late in the game, even they don't know very much about this quiet, reclusive male. In fact, the leader hadn't even really been aware of his presence, nor does he know when, along the way, this male joined their ranks. He likes to keep to himself for the most part, and hardly ever speaks to anyone. Even Bwana finds himself somewhat worried about the creature, as he doesn't know what interest such a lion would have in his loud, exciting pride. Everyone seems suspicious of him, but he merely wishes to be left alone. Or... does he?

When Bwana's father had been in power, his war council had been there to support him, even when the malicious male grew mad with power, drawing the pride into chaos. These loyal followers of the past have, since, been met with various levels of trust. Most left when their king was killed and Bwana was thankful for it. Knowing who to trust from his father's time, and who to look out for, is too hard for a creature who wishes to give everyone the benefit of the doubt. Which he has, reluctantly, given again to this purple old-timer. This male was once of the highest standing in the pride, helping the king lead and keeping the subjects in line. Now, for whatever reason, he has returned to the pride after the fall of his king, hoping to get in good standing with the younger generation of ruler. But he is a violent, dark sort of lion who had hated non-purple creatures to the point of attacking them. While he claims to have changed, Bwana can't be positive. What are his real intentions?

These two lions came with the former member of the pride, both looking forward to being nobles and living in a place where they're treated with respect. They may, of course, have their own reasons for being in the pride. Perhaps they want more power than they have been promised, or something else entirely. Whatever the case, these two don't seem connected to one another, and were probably approached at different times along the way. Should Bwana be worried that his stubborn former pride member is trying to pad the pride with lions who think like he does? Probably.

They scattered like leaves on the wind into the forest, seeking shelter within the darkness from the scary, unknown pride they found themselves in.
Hearing about this, Bwana has decided to enlist the help of his fellow pride members, calling them to action. He is asking for the loving animals of his pride, single or with a mate, who would be willing to find one of these cubs and invite them to be a part of their family. Yes, he's basically asking lions to go into the forest, hunt down a cub, and keep it.
