Introduction- Nko has had her first litter and one of the cubs still needs a good home! I would like to see her rped. MoonRazor will be helping me judge. There is a small quiz, just so I know that you’ve read through the pride’s info. Mwezi'JohariStarts: Now
Ends: Sun 23, at Noon MSTRules- 1. Follow all Gaia TOS and SoA shop rules. 2. This is for Pride Newbies ONLY! This means you have no lions(any stage) in the Mwezi'Johari. It doesn’t matter how many soa you have (it could be 0, 10, or more) as long as none of them are in the Mwezi'Johari. 3. This cub is required to remain in the pride. No cubnappings, runaways, etc. 4. Family- Msiba (MoonRazor)- The rogue Nko chose to sire her first litter of cubs. You will probably never see or meet him. Nkosazana (magnadearel)- A sociable lioness, who decidedly likes to hang around with the upper classes. She wants a collection of lions from the slave class to wait on her. Nko is not a mean lioness, however she is slightly disappointed that her cubs were low-middle class. She does her best to hid her disappointment but it sometimes seeps through. Kidogo Mwezi (Zero and Below)- Kidogo, as many call her, is a little silent one. She does not speak much but when she does it's pure an true. She is very shy but close to her family and dear friends. She tends to make great judgement on others cause of her amazing intuition, this helps protect her from people she does not get along with. She does however love to do one thing, sing. Her voice is amazing in a beautifully haunted way. Rarely you may be able to catch her singing in the night to a big moon, but that is rarely. Imani (Vesale)- Imani is very happy go lucky, she lives for the moment and doesn't give much thought on the past or the future. She's content with not knowing her father and doesn't give him much thought since she never met him. She's quite sociable and loves talking to lions, whatever their status in the pride is. She can be quite in your face and doesn't care much for personal space.

Nko told you that he was a rogue and you would probably never meet him. How do you feel about not having a "proper" family with a mom and dad? 2. Because of when you were born during the phase of the moon you can only become a huntess. Your mother had hoped you'd at least be a guard like herself or higher; you can see the disappointment in her eyes when she looks at you. How do you react? 3. You were playing hide-and-seek with your sibling this morning. Somehow, she managed to find the perfect hiding spot, and try as you might, you couldn't find her so you abandoned the game, thinking that she would reappear when it became obvious that you couldn't find her. Now it's noon. Your sibling has been gone for hours, and nobody has seen her. What do you do?

Name: Kioni
Meaning: She sees things
Personality: Kioni seems to have been appropriately named since she is a very watchful thing. She is neither very shy or very talkative which makes her a bit of a happy medium between her sisters. She speaks when she deems it appropriate to be speaking and to who it is appropriate to be speaking, and listens when she knows it would be wisest. She tends to notice the little details in things and subtle changes, both in surroundings and in other lions. Kioni takes in the things she observes and holds on tightly to what she thinks is important or useful and lets all the others slip away.

It was fairly obvious to Kioni that her mother found herself and her sisters to be a disappointment. It wasn't as if her mother said it out loud, but Kioni could see it. It was there to be read on Nko's face, settled deep into her eyes, when she looked at them. Besides that Kioni had heard snippets of conversation, and begun to learn enough about the world that she understood that it was disappointing for cubs to be born of a lower rank, to be less then what was hoped for.
Kioni sometimes wondered if her sisters noticed their mother's disappointment but they had never brought it up, and so she'd never asked them. She didn't think it was fair to tell them if they didn't know, it might make them sad and besides, it was better for them to find out on their own if at all.
It initially took effort not to feel hurt every time Nko looked at Kioni with that expression. She did not like the feeling that she had somehow failed, though as far as Kioni knew she had done nothing wrong. She spent a few nights alone under the moon asking what it was she could do to be more worthy in her mother's eyes, but finally Kioni decided to let it go. Perhaps her mother could not help the feelings she felt when she looked at her cubs, just like Kioni could not help what rank she was born as. As long as her mother cared for her and her sisters that was all that really mattered. All Kioni could do was resign herself to her fate and make the best of what she had been given.
Future Plots: I'd like to keep it somewhat flexible but mainly along the lines of Kioni growing up into a fine and observant huntress, and eventually having cubs of her own.

Name: Siri Za’Mbele
Meaning: Hidden from sight
Personality: A cub that’s keenly aware of the emotions of others, Siri knows her mother’s disappointment in her and her sisters’ low birth rank, and thus tries to keep herself emotionally detached from those around her. If she doesn’t care, she can’t be hurt, after all. Preferring to live by logic, Siri claims to be satisfied with her rank because, well, isn’t her coat best suited for a hunter’s job anyway? Siri is far from open or attached, and prefers to keep to herself, even among hr family. She’s aware that her behavior can hurt others as well as her relationship with them, but merely adds that to the evidence that emotions are irrelevant.
The truth of the matter is, however, that she’s a hypocrite. Siri feels things very deeply, despite her attempts not to do so. She can’t stand the fact that she’s limited to being a hunter, especially since it disappoints her mother so much, and longs to form bonds with her sisters and fellow pride members. However, by denying her feelings and her attachments, she’s setting herself up for a great deal of trouble later in life. For now though, she simply seems cold, aloof, and an absolutely boring cub who’s completely devoted to training for her future job and tries to act older and professional at all times, which is rather laughable in relation to her young age and small size.
Prompt # and response: Prompt #2
Siri didn’t fully understand why her mother wasn’t happy with her, at least when she was smaller – the cub just knew that the adult female would always look like someone had eaten the last bite of her favorite meal whenever she watched the small cubs. Sir was bigger now, though, and knew exactly why she and her sisters weren’t good enough for her mother, would never be good enough, and that she and her littermates would always have to deal with the possibility that they would someday have younger siblings who were above them in rank – and, in Siri’s mind, more loved by their mother.
Why, oh why had she been born when the Great Lion was closing His eye? Did He not care – no, that was a blasphemous thought, the cub realized as she sat on her haunches and stared up at the Moon overhead, her green eyes cool and darkened to the deepest of jade in the shadows of the night. She couldn’t think like that, it was wrong, and it could have been worse... if only just so. But... it hurt whenever Mama looked at her with that gleam in her eyes – not of pride, but of shame. Siri didn’t like hurting. She didn’t like that Mama could never really be happy with her.
She didn’t like that neither of her sisters seemed to notice or care that their Mama wasn’t happy with them, that they were trapped into a single role in life, that the Great Lion chose not to favor them. It wasn’t fair, and it hurt, and it shouldn’t hurt because that was just the way life worked... Siri shook her had and pawed at one ear, confused by her own line of thinking. Finally, the small cub sighed and shook her head, staring up at the Moon, her expression open; her pain clear for only the Great Lion to see.
“I’m not going to hurt any more,” she said, almost daring the great God to strike her down on the spot for her statement. “It’s not worth it. Emotions are useless if it just means you get hurt. So I’m not gonna let them have me any longer. Give my mother cubs she can love more someday – see if I care. I don’t! And I never will!”
Despite her declaration, Siri felt something in her heart tear and writhe in pain at her statement. She wouldn’t acknowledge it, though. It wasn’t important.
Future Plots: Obviously, this cub is going to face the results of her hypocrisy someday, and I’m sure her distance from her family will be noticed. Perhaps someone can confront her about it someday. I do have hopes that at some point she will be proven wrong, get through whatever breakdown this causes, and reach a point where she actually can accept her lot in life – and not just pretending to for the sake of ‘logic’. Also I know it’s totally dependent on chance, but should she have a mate at some point in the future, I think it would be quite ironic for her to have cubs born at the higher end of the rank spectrum.

Name: Airleas
Meaning: "Oath"
Personality: Due to her family background, Air is a quiet, if very determined, kind of character. Because she has to live up to her mother's expectations, she tries her hardest in everything, despite being naturally taciturn. She doesn't like to talk, because she's afraid if she does, she'll say something inappropriate, even though she knows something is wrong. Like her namesake, she is one who takes an oath and never breaks it. She also has a tendency to be somewhat naive to some things, but she learns quickly and intends to grow up past her mother's expectations. She's not necessarily a morbid type, but she has moments of depression because she realizes she can't completely satisfy her mother (this will become something of an obstacle for her to grow out of).

Though Mother is kind, there's always that look... Why? I don't understand it, but I don't question it, either. Since the day my eyes opened to the world, all I've ever known is this odd look in her eyes. There is of course that joy I see, but with that joy is some kind of sadness I don't understand. Maybe when I'm older I will, but I don't really want to understand it. For some reason, I know that once I understand that "other" feeling in her eyes, it will make my world darker. I don't really like darkness, because it's harder to see things in. Of course, I like night-time because there's always the moon and the stars... especially the moon. The moon is so pretty, and... and there's always the Great Lion. He's watching over me, so I know I'll make Mother happy somehow, someday.
...I hope so, anyway.
But I wonder how I'm going to do it. I don't really understand anything yet. I hope I grow up soon, because I want to understand everything. And then I can make Mother happy. I don't know why I think I have to make Mother happy, but I have to. It's that "other" look in her eyes. I know it. And I still don't want to understand it. I'm sitting here looking at the moon and thinking all of this, but some things I think of I don't understand. The moon isn't answering me even though I have all these questions. Maybe I should pray to the Great Lion and he'll answer my questions. I'm too scared to ask Mother; she might get mad, and I don't like her being mad at me. I want her to be happy, but I still can't figure out why... Well, when I grow up, I will try my hardest. Yeah.
Oh, maybe the Great Lion answered my questions after all. I didn't think of that--understanding when I'm older, that is--on my own. I look back at the moon, and smile happily. Maybe sitting out here by myself for a little while was all I needed... yeah. However I'm going to make Mother happy, the best way is to show how great I am at what I'll be.
...Yeah, just like that.
Future Plots: Although I'm not exactly familiar with the Mwezi pride, after looking at all the pride information, I have a general idea. For Air, any romantic plots will probably either involve forbidden love (would be fun), or none at all, because her one goal is to impress her mother so much Nko isn't disappointed any longer. As a cub (like in my reply), Air doesn't understand that yet, but instinctually she feels that disappointment and associates that with sadness... other plots may involve plundering at her apprenticeship (more disappointment from Nko since she ought to at least be good at hunting), and I was thinking of maybe having Air wander a little bit to learn more of the world outside her pride, and honing her skills that way... or, of course, creating an atmosphere/situation that causes Air to (maybe) harden her heart and somehow become the best huntress of the lower-middle class group... who knows? I was thinking also that she may have a run-in with her rogue father but not know who he is, and probably learn how to hunt through him. She is a lioness who intends to master everything she learns just to impress her mother.
