Beatrix found adjusting to the Suka'Fumo a task not easily conquered. As soon as she had managed to enter pridal lands and be accepted along with the group she traveled with, she found herself thrust into the woods looking high and low for cubs that had traveled with them but had been abandoned by their keeper on the last leg of the journey. Pride members from all classes and walks of life entered in this search and quickly many found themselves taking on children that had no homes and were not theirs.
Beatrix was no exception to this. Her and another Noble had found a pair of cubs hiding far in an abandoned den. A little lioness and a little male hyena. Beatrix was quick to take the hyena back with her and had since been caring for him and teaching him. She admittedly found it difficult as she was not well versed in what exactly Hyenas were supposed to do or how they should be taught. She supplemented this lack of knowledge by treating him as if he were just another lion, a small and dependent baby like her sister had once been...
Beatrix watched as the hyena she took under her wing (who she aptly named Stella Rosa for his coat color and what she had called him when she found him) ran back and forth with such speed as they went on their usual walk. Beatrix didn't much like to play with him the way he wanted to play, keeping in mind the way she was supposed to act as a Noble, but she did often take walks with him and let him burn off all his excess youthful energy until he was about to slump over winded and tired. Some days she wondered whether or not the male was some sort of cheetah/hyena hybrid by the speed at which he ran. He was so hard to keep track of.
"Stella Rosa, you keep within my sight," Beatrix called, watching as he ducked inbetween some of the other pride members that passed by. She ducked their head to them and mumbled apologies for the boy's behavior, but knew that even if she wanted there was no way to calm him. He was naught but a bundle of endless energy.

“Wow! You’re a quick one!” Hummed the ever-happy player, Borachio, a bright grin on his face as he watched a small hyena pup zooming in and out of some of the other pride members. While they didn’t seem too pleased to be disturbed, the young male was happy to see such high spirits from another. Usually he thought he was one of the only ones in the pride who had any kind of never-ending energy. Apparently his self-appointed title was about to be over-thrown.
He’d never seen anyone move so quickly.
His ears twitched to the left, hearing a female calling out to him from not that far away. Having been expecting to see a female hyena calling to her child, it came as quite a shock to instead see a lioness standing there, looking mildly concerned for the pup. Instantly, he knew what had probably happened. Not that long ago, there had been an incident concerning a group of lost children. No doubt the lioness had decided to take one of them in. Good thing too, as if she and the others hadn’t, he was sure his father would have.
The den, even with its impressive size, would have become very crowded. So pleased by his thoughts, he decided he simply had to go over an introduce himself to the nice female who had taken in someone of another species. If she was fine with that, maybe she would be fine with him being the illegitimate son of the king.
Many seemed to have a problem with that small detail, weirdly enough.
“Hello!” He greeted brightly, “so you’re that guy’s care-taker, I guess it? Seems like quite the spunky little soul! I’m happy to see it.” He beamed in his delight, taking a seat not that far from the lady. She seemed a tad unfamiliar to him. One of the new comers, if he had to wager a guess. So they weren’t all male.
Good.
“My name’s Borachio. It’s nice to meet you.”

Stella's attention was quickly gained by the happy sounding, purple male and he skidded to a halt, his tail waving back and forth much like a wild dog's. He was the first person to talk to him in a pleasant tone aside from Beatrix and it gave him quite the pleasant feeling. After having gone on such a long journey alone with he other children and a woman not his mother, Stella socialization skills weren't exactly the best. Beatrix was trying her best to change that, but he was still a little awkward.
As he noticed Borachio strolling his way over to Beatrix, who he had fully adopted as his mother, he felt himself twinge with a mixture of jealousy and protectiveness. That was his mommy.
Bounding off after Borachio, Stella ran about him and tried to get underfoot of the large male, barking slightly as he did so, "Eh!"
------------------------------
Beatrix heard the voice of the male and quickly winced. Oh Stella, you were getting into everything and running into everyone today weren't you? She sighed heavily to calm her nerves and ready herself to apologize. The reception of her apologies today were cool and stiff, already garnering herself a reputation that was of less quality than she wanted it to be. This pride was her chance at making an appropriate and fresh start, not to ruin it.
Catching the eye of the voice's owner, Beatrix was surprised to see a near pure block of purple before her, grinning from ear to ear and oozing some sort of raw charm. Aside from the king himself, she had never seen anyone so purple in her time here and out of reflex she gave the male a bow as he he spoke to her. He outranked her, after all, it was only polite to show the courtesies he deserved.
"Yes. I apologize greatly if he's caused you any strife," Beatrix said quietly, although guessing by Borachio's words that were not the case. But with noble eyes watching wherever she was, judging her by her displays, her part she needed to play.
Lifting her head tentatively, she gave the male a pleasant smile before shifting back to normal stance, "I am Beatrix. It's a pleasure to meet you."
She knew not that Borachio was the King's illegitimate son. So much of her time was spent taking care of Stella and attempting to be introduced to the rest of the nobility that that particular tidbit had never reached her ears. What Beatrix didn't know was good for Borachio.
As Stella managed to try and shove himself underfoot of Borachio, Beatrix quickly snapped into action grabbing the little male by his scruff. It was an action no first-time mother or caretaker was so apt at. She had previous experience with children before this.
"And I believe you have met Stella Rosa," She said ineloquently with a maw full of fur.

Borachio didn’t know what to make of the small animal bounding after him- it was adorable, but he imagined it was supposed to be a little bit threatening, too. It wasn’t. Maybe he needed to pretend it was? Perhaps after he dealt with the whole ‘bowing’ thing.
“Ha!” He hummed, “no need for such formalities around me! I’m a humble player, looking to entertain the masses.” He knew it was contrary to his looks- most purple lions still felt they needed to be held in higher standing. A rule from his grandfather’s rule, and long before it. Something his father, however, wasn’t as keen on preserving, though he couldn’t exactly get rid of the rule right away and have it go over well. Too many still held firmly to those old ideas.
Borachio, however, was not one of those lions. He enjoyed acting and that was what he was going to do, regardless of the color of his pelt.
Anyway, Beatrix seemed much more polite and aristocratic than him. If either of them needed to be respected, it was her. The fact that she seemed so capable of taking care of an excitable little tyke was only further proof of that. She was clearly not someone who wasn’t familiar with children.
He, meanwhile, wasn’t very good at tending to them- his talents ended at keeping them entertained.
“Yes! We’ve met. Pretty cute, that one! I’m guessing he was one of the ones who came in when that female left all the cubs here, right? That was certainly an event! So… what about you? Did you come in with that group, too? Not to be rude, I just like to know all the various faces of this pride.” He chuckled, tail wrapping around his legs. Gossip was his thing, after all. How could he know all the latest news if he didn’t know all the latest members too?
