I may or may not have made a thread about my pond, I don't remember. Either way, it's all set up and mostly cycled. I couldn't get my canister filter to work so right now I have a sponge filter in it. It's doing a pretty good job or circulating the water.
My plan is to eventually use it to house axolotls. I talked with the people on the axolotl forum and they can live in a pond. BUT that has to wait until I have a job because I'd like to put a better filter on it and build a cover to keep critters out of it at night. I'm not going to ask the bf to pay for that because it's my thing.
Meantime, I'm going to put mosquito fish in it. I can't find any freshwater areas/ditches for the life of me, and when I asked around the closest ones aren't within walking distance. So I contacted mosquito control and they're going to bring me gambusia affinis. They'll be fun to have and when the time comes for axies I can move them somewhere else and use the babies as feeders.

Thats awesome that they will give you the Mosquito Fish for free! They are such neat little fish lol
Cant wait till you can get your axolotl in there! I want to see them! LOL they are so cute!!! I wanted to put one in one of our banners, but PhotoShop was not liking all the curves they have XD

Akari_32 Thats awesome that they will give you the Mosquito Fish for free! They are such neat little fish lol Cant wait till you can get your axolotl in there! I want to see them! LOL they are so cute!!! I wanted to put one in one of our banners, but PhotoShop was not liking all the curves they have XD
I can't wait either! Probably not til later in the summer though.

oh...Wow! That looks beautiful. I wish I could do that with my backyard. Unfortunately I'm in an apartment though right now. I told Kim a while back that if we ever own a house, I want to build a pond to be able to hold a crapload of Koi. ^_^

Lol well the pond was already here when we moved in. I just cleaned it out and filled it up.
