Zamba wasn't surprised that his mother had foisted Lochan off on him while she spent time with her new litter - though he was somewhat surprised that he didn't mind the brown cubs presence nearly as much as he had thought he would. Lochan wasn't prone to crazy outbursts or fits of energy like some cubs and that to Zamba made him decidedly more pleasant to be around.

In any case he had decided to take the lad down to a nearby field where he knew many of the Prides lions took their young on nice days - the boy could use some friends..or even just some time to be a kid without Maua constantly looking over his shoulder. "I think you'll like it" He told Lochan as they walked along "I remember my father bringing me here as a cub and I always had a good time"

"I'm sure I will Zamba sir" Lochan replied politely, he wasn't really looking forward to seeing a bunch of unknown cubs...and probably noble cubs at that but...but it was better then sitting around in the cave being lectured on how to be polite and useful...and Zamba was a better caretaker then some of the others he had met in the Pride since joining. Not that he had to many complaints about Maua and family - she ensured he was taken care of and had gone out of her way several times in order to give him options as an adult that he wasn't sure he would have had or know n abou otherwise. She seemed determined to make him a good productive member of the pride and he really couldn't fault her for that. "Do you think they'll be any girls there?" He asked the older lion.

"Arn't you a little young to be thinking about girls?" Zamba asked the cub with a slightly arched brow and a chuckle.

Parisette had taken the new addition to her little family in stride. Her cubs were not that much older than the girl she had found in the forest, so it wasn't that hard of an adjustment. She just went from having two daughters, to having three. Not hard, really. However, what had concerned her was the new girls' lack of communication. In the end, Parisette had named her Parachichi, which the girl had seemed to approve of, but other than making noises, she hadn't spoken. It was odd, and Parisette was really try to bring her out of her shell a bit more.

Which was why she had suggested a walk, just Parachichi and herself, without her boisterous other cubs around.
"Are you okay, sweetie?" she asked the juvenile, smiling warmly at her as they walked along. Parisette had decided to walk near one of the youth playing grounds, to see if the girl wanted to make friends other than her new family.

Parachichi looked around her somewhat nervously, unconsciously shifting closer to Parisette when other people walked too close for her liking. When the blue female spoke, she glanced up, and smiled at her, nodding to show she was okay - without making a noise.

Parisette cast her a thinly veiled worried look, but didn't push her, glancing ahead instead. A familiar figure in the distance confused her for a moment, and she peered at him, wondering why he looked more than vaguely familiar - and yet she, for the moment, couldn't remember his name.

Lochan snorted at Zamba's comment and merely shook his head in the manner many young cubs adopted when they didn't think their older watchers knew what they were talking about."Not for much longer" He informed Zamba in an all knowing voice "And Lady Maua says is never to early to start thinking about your future" He added on - a though invoking the word of Maua would prove his statement beyond a shadow of a doubt.

Lochan was about to say something more when a glance behind him revealed the lioness and cub in the distance, pausing Lochan squinted slightly, half turning about so that he could see them better with his good eye 'Hey!" He suddenly proclaimed " I recognize that cub..she was one of us"

Had Zamba been lying down when the cub proclaimed his satement about Maua he likely would have covered his face with a paw and shook his head - as it was he could only sigh and roll his eyes slightly. It seemed his mothers rhetoric hadn't changed much since he was cub - though he had no idea what she had in mind for Lochan's future...his mother probably didn't even know all the possibilities a commoner cub would have within the pride.

In any case he wasn't about to argue with Locan - it was probably better for everyone if the boy continued to worship Maua's words instead of arguing with her. It wasn't until Lochan spoke again that Zamba's thoughts returned to the here and now and following the cubs glance he noticed the blue female and brightly colored cub behind them. "One of us?" Zamba asked momentarily puzzled by Lochan's statement 'Oh...you mean one of the cubs from the forest" He remarked as it suddenly clicked.

He was pretty sure that he knew that lioness as well - she looked familiar though his memories proved him with a much much smaller reference. He knew her of course..even if he hadn't met her as a cub... Maua made sure that the names of the King's children - even the non-noble ones - were drilled into he and his siblings heads by the time they were teens. "Well why don't we go and say hi?" He suggested to Locan before turning about and heading towards her. "Parisette!" He greeted her warmly as they drew closer "It's been a while" Though he had know idea if she would recall their little playdate at all, he looked a good bit different now with his white mane grown in and all.

Parisette was fretting inwardly - something she didn't do often. She lived for drama, but she liked it better when it was drama about her, not about others. what if something was wrong with the young girl? Even though she had gotten her checked by the nurses, what if something had happened to her and it was bad and that's why she couldn't speak? Oh, she just didn't know.

She glanced up from her paws when she heard someone call her name, realising it was the male she had partially recognised. It was his voice which gave him away, despite that it had changed as he grew. Something about it struck a chord in her mind, memories coming back of playing games with a young boy. "Zamba!"" she called back, pleased as she approached, spying the young boy by his side. "It has been a long time. How have you been?"

She peered at the young boy and smiled, recognising him from the forest as well. "Hello dear," she greeted him too.

Parachichi had approached with Parisette, but stayed partially hidden behind her. When they'd stopped, she peered around the elder lionesses paws, staring at the younger male. She barely noticed the older one, there than a curious stare.

She recognised the brown male. He had been in the forest too. She squeaked, perhaps a greeting, before ducking behind Parisette again out of nervousness.
She didn't want to go back in the forest.

Hearing the girl squeak, Parisette was reminding to introduce her too. "And this is Parachichi," she explained, turning and gently nudging the youth out into view. "She's a little shy."

Ah so she had remembered him! For some reason that rather pleased Zamba - he'd have felt foolish approaching her in such a manner if she didn't now who he was and he was just vain enough to enjoy being recalled by a pretty female - even if she wasn't purple. "I've been well..avoiding my mother and her overbearing ways mostly" He told her with a smile "Though she's got me watching this little scamp today" He said with a long suffering sigh that was revealed to be a tease when he winked at the brown cub.

"They call me Lochan now" He told the blue lioness with a bit of pride in his voice before he glanced at the brightly colored girl as she squeaked at him - she had always been a bit nervous he recalled though he hadn't made much of an effort to get to know her...or any of the other cubs who had been dragged along by that crazy Lioness for that matter. "Hello Parachichi" He greeted her as the blue lioness introduced her and tried to push her into view.

"Do you want to go and play?" He asked her, somehow he doubted that he would but it seemed like the polite thing to ask and Lady Maua was always going on about the importance of being polite.

Zamba gave the girl a warm look in greeting but as she seemed more then just a bit shy he decided not push her any farther less she feel threatened or run off to hide behind Parisette again. "Lochan was shy for a bit too" He assured the other Lioness "I'm sure she'll come out of it when she's ready"

Parisette looked slightly amused at his description of how he'd been. Avoiding his mother? Oh, his mother was Lady Maua. She couldn't imagine why he would want to avoid her, but then again, Parisette had never really spent much time around the nobility, except while an attendant to her father as a youth. "Hardly a scamp," she said, amused as she looked at Lochan.

"A pleasure to meet you, Lochan," she said, quite honestly. She had seen him briefly in the forest, and saw Lady Maua take him with her, but that had been her extent of what she'd seen. He seemed like a well-spoken young male though. She glanced at Parachichi when the boy addressed her.

Her eyes were wide as the two males looked at her, glancing nervously up at Parisette who claimed to want to help her. At Lochan's question, her eyes went even wider and her mouth opened, but no noise came out. She quickly shut her mouth and shook her head, looking nervous. No, she didn't want to play.

She didn't want to be mean though. She just...didn't know any games. She hesitated, and motioned to a nearby flower, shyly - and afraid he would say no.

Parisette hid a smile, and said, explaining Parachichi. "I think she wants to pick flowers," she said calmly, smiling approvingly at her ward.

She glanced back at Zamba at his words. "I hope so," she said, nodding. "My cubs have been very accepting of her, so I think she knows she's safe, she's just a little nervous of everything still." She said it quietly, though Parachichi was not listening to them. "So tell me, are you a War General?" She prompted, remembering him talking of it as if he was destined for it.

Lochan beamed with pleasure as the lioness defended him against being a scamp, if he'd been alone with Zamba he might have stuck his tongue out at the older lion or something equally as playful - but in the company of others that simply wouldn't be proper and Lochan was trying very hard to be proper like his adopted mother liked. Inwardly he had a fear of disappointing her - if he did so would she leave him in the forest like the other lioness had? So rather then being playful he merely dipped a polite head to the lioness "Thank you Miss" Before turning his attention to the shy girl at her side.

He had no idea what she wanted when she motioned to the flower and was glad as her mother explained he motion - pick flowers? That seemed terribly girly...but he'd grown accustomed to the strange demands of females living with Nalani and recently an abundance of Maua's newest cubs - he just hoped that none of the male cubs came along to spot him picking flowers or he'd never live it down. "Oh...well we can pick flowers" He told her and he tried - to sound excited at the prospect to be polite but ambling over to the flower he was a bit perplexed as to how he was supposed to go about this task, trying to bat the flower off with his paw only succeeded in sending the plant swaying back and forth.

Zamba waited until Lochan seemed involved with the task of flower picking before he gave Parisette a slight grin "Oh I don't know" He told her "he's just being on his best behavior for you" Although truly Lochan was far less of a scamp then he had been as a cub. "And I don't think he's ever picked flowers before" He continued as he observed the cubs first attempt at doing so.

Ah well - if it kept him busy then Zamba wa fine with letting him figure it out on hi own - or perhaps Parachichi would decide to show him, that might be good for the little lioness, help draw her out of her shell somewhat...not that he was any sort of expert on cubs and turned his thoughts back to the conversation with Parisette 'I suppose you can't really blame her" He responded "Imagine being left in the woods a their age" He shook his head slightly at the depressing thought though thankfully her next question brought thier conversation away from such dark ideas and he let out a slight bark of laughter "No...I'm afraid not - though not for lack of wanting, it is still something I desire someday" He told her with a smile "Though I must confess that I'm glad the Pride is not currently in need of such things."

Parachichi beamed when the male cub seemed okay with picking flowers. She had been worried he would say no - it was a bit girly, but he seemed happy enough to do it. She was unaware that he was merely trying to sound excited so as to not hurt her feelings. She shifted nervously, before walking over to where the flowers were, making sure he was following and not about to just ditch her.

She was still within the site of the elder lions, so as to not get lose. She unsheathed her claws, spotting a flower she really liked, and with a swift movement, cut it at the stem. It fell to the ground and she bent to take it in her mouth, presenting it with a grin to Lochan - it was a blue flower, like Parisette.

She waited for him to pick a flower too, putting hers in the beginning of a pile by her paws.

Parisette watched her newest cub go off with the other juvenile, pleased that she was making friends - perhaps this would help get her out of her shell a bit. She grinned at Zamba's comment about Lochan when they were away from the adults. "Or maybe I just bring out the best in cubs," she teased lightly, but she knew that her cubs were usually on their best behaviour around other adults, especially her wildchild Aureliana, who was more like a groundling then merely a youth. She watched the cubs too, amused at the ease at which Parachichi cut the stems of the flowers. "I wasn't sure if she had either, but it seems it's something she's done quite regularly before. It's so strange to get a cub - who has a backstory you might never find out about completely." She shook her head, faintly amazed.

She nodded in agreement at his words, though she still wished Parachichi would speak. "I couldn't imagine it. The forest still frightens me a little, even at my age!" She laughed a little, but it was tinged in sadness.

She looked surprised when he admitted he was not yet the rank of his dreams, but smiled assuredly at him. "Ah, I'm sure it's only a matter of time," she told him, with a nod. "Though yes! Thankfully Father's reign has been rather peaceful, and we've yet to have need for that rank." She continued to smile.

Lochan had squished two or three flowers before he caught sight of Parachichi and her technique for handling the plants - claws of course...now why hadn't he thought of that? At least there were no other cubs around to see his mishap he soothed himself. He wasn't sure how to take being presented a flower either and felt the insides of his ears warm as he mumbled out a "Very pretty" to the other cub and then busied himself looking for a flower of his own to add to the pile they were apparently supposed to be starting.

Spotting a brightly colored red flower not to far off he bounded towards it and tried to copy the other cubs actions in cutting it...his cut was a touch more ragged and awkward then her swift movement had been but in the end he had the flower - minus a petal or two - and brought it back to Parachichi rather proudly.

"There is that possibility" Zamba agreed with a slight chuckle before turning his gaze upon the two cubs himself and nodding his head in agreement. His mother, Zamba knew, had only adopted the cub to gain some sort of favor with the king - something Zamba wasn't even sure she had gotten - but he also knew that she wondered at his scars along with the rest of the older family. "It is strange...I sometimes wonder what sort of place Lochan came from, he has scars all over him..and then of course theres his eye. I can't imagine it was anywhere nice, perhaps even though she left him that crazy old bat of a lioness did him a kindness in leaving him here" He mused.

but that was hardly pleasant conversation and so when Parisette spoke of other things he was quick to grasp onto them "Perhaps you just need to go there with a strong escort" He teased her with a grin on his face. "How else will the Lions show their bravery in times of such peace hmm?"

Parachichi continued to smile, though hers had become shy, as if just realising he was still a stranger to her, but she was still pleased at the compliment to her flower. She had been focusing on her own when he bound off towards another to get his own.

She froze. He didn't go far, but still, he left? How could he leave? Her eyes were wide and her ears dropped low. Why did everyone leave? she wondered to herself, staring down at her paws.

Startled when she heard him returning to her, she peered up, surprised that he was presenting a flower to her - a little ragged but cut from it's stem. She beamed at him again, nodding in encouragement, her ears perking up again now that she realised he hadn't actually left her. He'd come back! That was so nice of him.

Parisette nodded, watching Lochan with a curious expression. The scars had been a shock. She had caught sight of him in the forest, shortly after finding Parachichi, and she had expected to see upset cubs, but cubs with scars? It was so sad. "I think he found a wonderful family, to help heal those scars a little," she murmured. "I hope that all of the lost cubs have."

She glanced at him in surprise at his tease, and laughed. "Oh, now there's an idea," she said, feigning thoughtfulness. "But where will I find a strong, brave escort in this peaceful time?" She joked, with a smile. "The brave males may have gotten lax in the content peace!" Showing bravery in times of peace was an odd thought, but with so many trained to protect, there had to be something for them to do.

She stretched, glancing down at her newest baby with a fondness. It was the realisation that dawned that she had left her other babies back in the den that caused her to shoot her old friend a sorrowful look.

"Speaking of escorts, I should escort the little one back to the den with my others. I hope we can speak again some time, before we've both got even older," she joked, smiling. She nuzzled Parachichi and ushered her away, back towards the den.

She cast a sorrowful look at leaving her new friend but she supposed she would just have to put up with being with her siblings instead. They were so loud though. She sighed, but followed her Mama happily enough.
