save the wovles of america

Congressional leadership now intends to use the current budget bill that funds the government to the end of September as a vehicle to eliminate federal protections for wolves.
There is a website with more info, and a petition you can sign, go fill it out if you get a chance

Dear Bleeding Heart,

The wolf population in the state of South Dakota is currently 5 times above where it was ten years ago. Overpopulation is leading to starvation and attacks on communities by packs of your beloved wolves. They will be fine in the Midwest region. Trust me, this would be for the better.

~Brutus~

PS - I refuse to sign anything until I know what it is that I'm fighting. You show me the document that has everyone so enraged and I'll reconsider my position.

Hearsay and opinions do not constitute a reason for action on my part.

This kind of thing seem to keep popping up at least once or twice a year and it never passes. Right now I'm more concerned about the US government spending money they don't have on something like killing wildlife, when they should be more concerned about other things. Nature can handle itself, it always has and it always will. It doesn't need people to eff with it any more than they already have.

for some reason, your point went over my head until i read this. You are right. We are not focused on our spending right now and that's going to screw us over, like it is already

I don't think anyone could love wolves more than I do, but one, i won't sign, and two. I'm not allowed to sign.

It's not so much that we don't have the money to fix a lot of problems. We probably still have enough of a budget to fund a very basic global health care plan, as was outlined in an article explaining a book.

The only problem is where the money would come from. Namely, the military. We spend more on our military than China, and they're not even as politcally free as we are! The US spends more on its military than any other country in the world.

I seriously, seriously doubt most of that money is actually going to support equipment for troops in dangerous areas too. It seems incredibly hypocritical for the supposedly "most free country in the world" to have the biggest military budget in the first place. Honestly, who's going to attack us anyway? We can blow up the world way too many times. It's far more efficient to just buy America into subservience than go to war over it...

Anyway, off topic rant over with, we have the money to do a lot of good. Really, we do. We just waste it on terrible things. At the very least we could fund an international effort on meteorite detection and destruction. At least that would be something productive with our weaponry....

This is why I wish some kind of rebellion would happen.

I hate the living s**t out of every government system by far in the world.

ESPECIALLY THE U.S. cowardly sick pigs that have no right to be at such a place of power.

You should take action. Leave your current country, go find an uninhabited island and start a new country. Make your own government. Actions are more powerful than words. Complaining does absolutely nothing. Can't just stand on the side hoping something will happen, make it happen, start the rebellion. biggrin
