The Family

User Image

The Father: (owned by Tana) Kenan is a loving husband to his mate Aaliyah, and a protective father to their cubs. There is nothing he wouldn’t do for any member of his family, from giving big bear hugs to being their self-defense instructor and hunting teacher. Yet he is not the type to smother his kids and he would never favor one over the rest. He loves them all equally and will be certain to shower them with his affection daily.

He will teach them to honor Aaliyah and be loyal to the pride, as well as efficient hunters and if any of the cubs take an interest in being warriors, he will spend time with them in training. As a very faithful and upstanding lion he will expect his kids to be truthful and honest. He is not only their father, teacher and protector, but their best friend as well, and will be there when ever they need him, even if it’s just to talk after a bad nightmare or their first cubby-crush.

Sometimes a big kid himself, he will love joining them in their games and rolling about on the ground with them. His family is his everything and he will be a loving and fun father.

User Image

The Mother: (owned by Lorne_Sionn) Aaliyah is a quiet, soft spoken lioness, who is physically delicate and fragile due to her time as a Dreamwalker for their old Pride. She's fully, truly, in love with Kenan and can not imagine being without him beside her. She'd lay down her life for him, though she did something that took far more courage, she lived, and overcame crippling emotional scars that nearly drove her mad to once more become his partner fully.

Her cubs are each a treasure that she is thankful for, and she is a good, if slightly doting mother. Aaliyah is affectionate with everyone of them, though it is her only daughter she seems to be far more closer to then the boys. She will teach them to hunt just as Kenan will, as she has taken up this duty within the Pride, despite her tiny size and frail health. She will show them the basics of healing, as it was once part of her duties before. If they show any deeper interest, she will teach them as much as they wish to learn.

She will be a loving and affectionate mother, though she will not be afraid to use a firm paw with them. She'll have to with five boys and one girl on them! Kenan and her will always present a united front and the cubs will learn quick, if mom says no so does dad and vice versa.

The Brothers Five: Aaliyah and Kenan have been blessed with five..yes FIVE sons, and they couldn't be happier...no really. These five boys have ONE sister, she is the cub you are entering for.

*personality blurbs will be added as they are PMd*

Sachetan ( owned by Tana) I am Number 1: Sachetan is like very much his father's son. He takes duty and honor very seriously, and is determined to uphold not only the pride's ideals, but his parents as ell. Something of a warrior scholar, he is very aware of his parent's past and the type of pride they came from. A serious cub he trains hard to be as strong and as competent as his father. As the eldest of his siblings he sees himself as responsible for them, possibly more than is healthy as he has also inherited his father's tendency to worry for everyone's safety but his own. While his father is out on his patrol, Sachetan sees himself as the family's protector and guardian and looks after his mother and siblings as if he were older than his scant age. Rather too serious that is perhaps wise, it is only in the presence of his twin Selunagei, that he relaxes and allows himself to just be a cub.

Nikita (owned by Split) I am Number 2:Nikita is a strong soul who doesn't have a problem with speaking up for himself and his family, especially his sister. He feels bad for her because she is the only girl. He is totally cool with playing girl games if she wants too, because of his love for her. As they grow, he wants to be able to support her and someday find a mate that will be happy with his family as much as he is.

Chidambar (owned by Chi) I am Number 3: Chida has a big name to fill. At first, he will be in less of an understanding of what he'd like in his future and with a big name like that. He hopes he could do his family proud but will feel highly insecure. Though caring and curious like any other cubbin, just with the always over thinking trait to him. He may waver later on about his insecurities and have little dramas/events that make him fall in to believing in himself. Later in life, fully putting in to everything he does instead of always second guessing. In addition to really becoming what his name truly means. Basically a big lovable teddy bear.

Selunagei (owned by Lorne) I am Number 4: Sel is a dreamer as a cub and he is fascinated by the rich culture of his Pride and the history of his parents. He is the first one to listen to any story told, and full questions that can drive his parents nuts. He learns them by heart and as he grows older will seek out the nvwati to learn more about the myths behind the stories of the Pride. Sel is warm, and welcoming, loyal and always full of life. A rather happy content male, with just enough of his dad's charm to be a lady killer. He and his twin will get into all kinds of trouble, but when it comes to his mute brother and his little sister, well Sel will protect first ask questions later. Eventually he will grow to be a scout for the Pride.

Nirav (owned by Quaji)I am Number 5:Nirav was born mute but that never has and never will stop him from enjoying his live to the fullest. He is quite possibly the most expressive lion anyone will every meet, whether that be through his drawings [though that will come later in life] or in his body movements. He never sees the bad in anyone, never the one hold a grudge against others no matter what they may have done to him. At first he is likely to not quite understand why his other siblings can talk to others and when he tries; nothing comes out. As time goes on though, he'll hopefully become more accepting of it and may even get to a point that he will consider himself lucky.

History

User Image

This is a brief history of the cubs parents, and bares a important role in how the cubs came to be and why Keanan and Aaliyah are as close as they are and as loving with their children.

Aaliyah was one of the Dreamwalkers for her pride, a well respected and talented healer, and the Pride’s link to the spirits. Her mate was a solid, dependable warrior named Kenan. Given to her as Guardian on her ascension to ‘Shaman’ by the Pride’s Elders. The two were expected to become a mated pair, but were allowed to indulge in a slow and tentative courtship, so that both of them could carefully adjust to their new roles as well as each other. The pride itself was a collaborative effort between lions and leopards, a harmonious and peaceful Pride, who’s warriors defended her boundaries while the healers looked after the sick and elderly.

However, peace was not to remain, and eventually that peace was shattered, and shattered brutally. Though the cats didn’t know what it was that hunted them, men with guns discovered the pride and sought to kill or capture them with bullets and darts. Some lions and leopards were killed for sport, some for trophies, and some were tranquilized and crated up to be transported back to England and other rich countries where collectors would pay handsomely for these exotic ‘pets’. For Aaliyah and Kenan, the timing of the attack couldn’t have been worse. With Aaliyah deep into one of her trances, there was nothing Kenan could do except guard over her. The pair were soon darted and loaded up aboard a truck which set off for one of the many rough smugglers airstrips.

The Pride’s gods however had not abandoned theDreamwalker and her Guardian. On the way the convoy was ambushed by a less successful party of trappers and several of the trucks drove off the dirt road and into the wide ditch at the side. The truck over turned and the four boxes on board were flung from the wreck. One was crushed and its occupant killed, the second, containing Kenan was badly mangled, but he mostly unhurt, save for a plank that had sliced open his right eye. Aaliyah's crate was third, and the impact was enough to weaken the gate, the fourth was undamaged though the leopard inside knocked unconscious. Without a thought for himself or the pain in his skull, Kenan ripped the rest of his box apart and escaped, clawing and chewing at his mate’s as she clawed at it from within with her paws.

Their escape was narrow, for as the gate gave and she squeezed free of it, the men from the truck that had caused the accident came down the slope. The two lions were forced to abandon the last remaining leopard, and Aaliyah and Kenan fled, escaping into the rough shrub land of the wild plains. Both badly shaken and injured, Aaliyah weak from the physical stress and darts lingering effects and Kenan blinded in his eye from the plank which had sliced him open on impact

Exhausted and all of a sudden alone in the world, the pair wandered for days in the Rogue Lands, struggling to gather their shattered lives. The harsh conditions, and emotional toll of the loss of the pride she had been spiritually connected to weakening Aaliyah further, and had it not been for the fierce protection and determination of her beloved, the priestess would have died. Kenan desperately hunted for them both, knowing that both his and his mate's strength was waning, when fate smiled on them one more time. The Guardian came across the first scent of lion, along the Ela'wadiyi border. Weary but joyous, he went back to his beloved Aaliyah, and told his news, and together, they set off to find the Ela'wadiyi pride, hoping that there, they would finally find shelter and safety, offering their training and skill to this new pride.

Aaliyah was devastated by the loss of everything she ever knew, and nearly broke under the grief, with Kenan unsure how to help her. Luckily thanks to the new friends, and mentors they have found, not to mention the solace, within the Ela'wadiyi Sky Clan both she and he recovered. Knowing that love was the greatest gift they had, and wanting to express it in the most precious of ways, (a way denied to them when Aaliyah was a Dreamwalker) they decided to have cubs, and welcome the litter with great joy.

A Sister is a Gift to the Heart

User Image

Name her, (remember Cherokee names are preferred for the clan and your brothers are named that way) give her a personality, and answer a prompt below!

You are welcome to NPC either Kenan, Aaliyah or Sel, but please keep in mind their personalities when you do. Any style is welcome, story, narrtive, or conversation. Run with it XD

Prompt 1
You are the only girl, how do you feel about that? Do you throw your lot in with the Five and become a total tom boy giving your mother vapors, do you go the opposite way and become a girly girly, or by some miracle you manage to balance it all out?

Prompt 2
You finally hear the full story about how your parents came to the Ela'wadiyi. How does it make you feel knowing you had other family that were killed? Do you ask about them and your parents old life? Do you ask your father to tell you in depth about the escape, or ask your mother if that is why she is so fragile of health? How do you react?

Prompt 3
One of your siblings is mute. (you have to read to find out which one) How do you communicate with him? How do you understand him or help others understand him? Do you get frustrated with him or others when they make fun of him?

Prompt 4
You are stepping out with a young hunter when you are an adolescent, and your brothers don't like him ( naturally). How do you handle the Five and their blustering, maybe even meddling? Do you threaten them, talk to them, or pass the whole thing off to mom and dad to fix?

I am Number 6

Name/Meaning: Charu (meaning Beautiful, Attractive)
Username: Tara de Draiocht
Personality: Light-hearted, down-to-earth, and fun-loving. She focuses on the present rather than the future. She believes that if you work hard that happiness will be sure to follow as a result.
Prompt Number: 1
Prompt Response:
She ponders the question asked of her before answering. " At times it can be a little daunting growing up in a family with all boys." Charu shakes her head. " All that testosterone its hard not coming out with a boyish attitude, but please don't get me wrong. I love all my brothers, it's just they can be overwhelming and protective a bit too much at times... and gross too. " She chuckled with a smile gracing her lips at the thought of past adventures her siblings had had many moons ago.
------------------------------------
At the beginning she will be intouch with her tom-boyish side, but in the end she finds herself liking girly things such as being clean, being in the company of males not just for play but for company as well as flirting, etc. Another thing is as she ages she will find herself mothering her siblings more than rough housing with them.

I am Number 6

Name/Meaning: Sanjula “Beautiful”
Username: Boudaihobbit
Personality: Sanjula is peaceful and quiet girl, but she is a force to be reckoned with. Mostly calm and patient, but indisputably not one to be overlooked. Sanjula will take on any of her brothers should they push her. She is sharp and witty, and won’t pass up the chance to learn any skill. Because of her close and protective bond with the two, she tends to stick closer to her mother and her brother Nirav, but she loves everyone in her family and respects both her parents for the journey that they underwent to get where they were now.
Prompt Number: 3
Prompt Response:

It was daybreak, and Sanjula was sitting just outside the mouth of the den watching the sun slowly ascend towards the sky. She normally woke up early and muddled around until everyone else woke up. She enjoyed the silence of the early morning. There was only one other that was awake. Close beside her, sat her brother Nirav, who had woken up and, noticing her absence, went to find where she had gone. They sat quietly together, taking in the dawning brilliance of the sky during sunrise.

Sanjula always enjoyed Nirav’s company when the others weren’t around. Even though he was born mute, she had a way of understanding him that she never had a problem with him not being able to voice his words. He was always extraordinarily expressive and kept his heart in plain sight. She also had a bit of a protective streak over him. Nirav was always getting into something and attempting feats that could possibly maim him. Also, even though it was one of his endearing qualities, she couldn’t help but notice how openly trusting he was of others.

Even if they seemed to be less than trustworthy, Nirav would always give them a chance. This was the only situation where her brother’s muteness troubled her. If he was somewhere were no one could see him and there was someone picking on him or harassing him, then he couldn’t simply yell for help like the rest of them, and she was afraid that he may find himself trapped in a situation like this. Sanjula frequently felt that he would get hurt or come into some harm from either his trusting of others or his knack for performing stunts, so she always kept an eye on him.

She pinched her eyes halfway shut as the sun pulled itself higher and higher into the sky, bringing the day with it. Her ears flicked back briefly as she heard the sounds of the rest of her family waking as the sun rays breeched the den. Turning to her brother, she spoke softly, “Lets go back.” As they made their way back into the den, she fleetingly wondered who would watch over Nirav once she had her own family to look after.

MoonRazor

PostPosted: Tue May 24, 2011 12:12 am

I am Number 6

Name/Meaning: Avani (Cherokee; female form meaning “King of the earth”)
Username: MoonRazor
Personality: Avani has always been a bit of a confused soul. As the only girl in the litter, she struggles to carve a spot out for herself (though ironically, perhaps, the mere fact that she is the only girl seems to have done that for her already) and to figure out who she is and where she stands. As a cub, she will have differing tendencies. Always willing to join into a scrabble, she will throw herself wholeheartedly into her brother’s games, doing her best to push them to the limits. She will learn to throw insults and punches with the best of them, and not be afraid to do either if the situation arises. Around her parents, however, she will become a different lion, mellowing out almost instantly and acting considerably more “girlish” and refusing to roughhouse with her brothers in order to personify what she thinks are their expectations for their only daughter.

As she grows, Avani’s apparent personality shifts will become less and less dramatic. She will learn that her family will love her, no matter what she is like, and that anybody else’s opinion is a moot point in the argument. Her self-consciousness will slowly melt away, and she will grow into a young lioness that is decidedly a lioness, but will remain unafraid to embrace her love of brawling and trading guy-isms with her brothers. If the occasional crude comment will scare off whatever friends she has made, then perhaps Avani won’t quite care to be so closely associated with them anyway.

Thanks to the litter-mates she has, Avani will grow up to have a sharp tongue, ready to snap to action at any moment. She won’t tolerate any abuse to herself or to anybody she holds dear to her heart, and will jump to somebody’s defense the moment she detects a hint of malevolence around her. She will not hesitate to give a deserving victim a verbal flaying, and perhaps even a physical one right after if he has really ticked her off. Though not the largest of lions, Avani is strong both physically and emotionally, and her first instinct will be to retaliate rather than to break down in the face of adversity.

She will always lean toward independence, preferring to rely on herself to solve problems than to ask others for help, no matter how close they are to her. As a result, there are times when she can seem overly stubborn or even selfish, though neither is her intention; she has simply learned to be strong and to help herself. In Avani’s eyes, her life belongs to her and her alone, and if there are issues that she can’t deal with herself, then what right has she to ask anybody else?

She loves her family, and will do her best to remain close with her five brothers. She knows exactly how protective five boys can be of one girl, and it both flatters and amuses her. She never intervenes when they try to do their “job” protecting her, preferring instead to let them get it out of their systems, knowing that they will (most likely) turn around eventually. In return, Avani herself will stick up for any of her brothers, no matter the situation. When it comes to these five, right and wrong matter less than familial ties (if one of them were to kill someone, she wouldn’t think twice to protect him), especially with Nirav, who she can seem to like the most, though if asked she fight tooth and nail to make sure the answer is clear: she loves all her brothers equally.
Prompt Number: 4
Prompt Response:
The Five had done it again. This wasn’t the first time that her brothers had swooped in to interfere with a relationship (of any kind) that she had had with a male lion. She could count on her paws how many male friends she had had outside of the Five, and… well, Avani didn’t think she had completely burned all those bridges, but it was fair to say that those lions had learned to keep their distance. It had become a bit of a routine, Avani supposed, and perhaps not the most desirable one, but she was more than happy to acquiesce with her brothers’ worries. If anything, she relied on it, as if their meddlesome interference would help her discern the true friends from the shallower ones. In time, everything would fall into place, and Avani was in no hurry to find the creatures she belonged with. One of these days, she would find them, the ones that could put up with her family and perhaps even embrace it.

Perhaps Bhim wasn’t one of those creatures. He had emerged from the encounter with her brothers none the worse for wear physically, but he made no secret about how little he had enjoyed it. The tall, dark lion hurried along with little more than a muttered excuse, “it’s getting dark.” She could read his grumbles in the frown on his face, his tacit complaints in the stiff-legged walk that bore him along. He was being restrained, not polite, avoiding a full-blown argument so close to her home. The gods only knew why, though Avani thought that perhaps it was because he figured her five brothers would come running at the sound of raised voices.

The young lioness hurried after him, landing a soft brush along his flank to draw his attention. She communicated with all lions much as she did with Nirav, with an abundance of light touches that seemed to make up a language of their own. Peering up into Bhim’s dark eyes, Avani tilted her head. “You’re angry, aren’t you?”

Bhim stared at her, his face devoid of any pressing emotion. “Why would I be angry,” he dead-panned, with a dismissive shrug. “I mean, come on, Avani, you saw what happened back there. Your brothers together make up one big nightmare. Especially that one, that gray one that kept motioning things to me that I didn’t understand. Couldn’t have just said things to my face?”

Avani felt herself bristling, felt every nerve jump on end as she fought the urge to thrash him. “Of course he couldn’t, Bhim, he can’t speak.” She saw his face change, shift from nothing to something – regret, perhaps, or pity – but that was too little too late now. She turned with a small shake of her head. “Good-bye, Bhim.” She told him through gritted teeth and altogether too politely for two friends. They wouldn’t be any more, not after this, and it was a disappointing thought. As Avani trudged home, she ran the lion’s words through her head. Losing him would make her unhappy, a little snappish for a few days maybe, and her poor brothers would take most of the heat, but they all knew she would bounce back soon. And once she did that, she would start the cycle all over again. Find a friend, bring him home, show him to her brothers. And maybe, just maybe, the next one would be the one.

I am Number 6

Name/Meaning:
Awinita :: Fawn
Username:
-_Wish of the Goddess_-
Personality:
She seems very shy and reserved, those big eyes more prone to watching others. Awinita, or just Awi for short, is the type of cub to enjoy long days to herself, especially since she tends to have reserves about people in general. The little cub is fond of one thing, though. Dancing. There's always been something inside her that Awinita knew was different, and when she first heard a song, her paws couldn't stop wanting to move. She often describes it as an itch in her paws. Not that it makes any difference to her, because in her mind, dancing is better than words at expressing how she feels about things. Another thing about the cub is that she's not fond of verbal expression, partly because of a stutter that she will have had from cubhood.. She finds it limited, and will often kind of just look at another when the question is asked. She seems to have neither tendancies towards being hugely effeminate, nor largely masculine, seeming to enjoy just quietly playing with a bug, or dancing on unsteady youngling paws. She seems to be most fond of her brother, Nirav, and Selunagei, happy with the way the both act about things, although she loves her other brothers just as much.

Likely, she'll grow into a quietly stunning young female, with a heart of gold, and a willing soul. Awi will be willing to help her family out in any situation, and will love the idea of being able to do what she can for her pride, without having to use words too much.
Prompt Number:
3
Prompt Response:
With Nirav being mute, Awinita had known from the time they'd spent together that things were hard for him. It was part of the reason she thought they got along so well. With the fact that the young lioness held a small disdain for words, and with her brother's inherent mute nature, she found that getting along with him was easiest of all. She didn't have to worry about expressing herself with words, and with him, Awinita found her heart soaring at the idea that she might be able to dance to convey her emotions and thoughts. With capable paws, and a willing heart, she set out from the den at the mid-day hour, intent on working things out for herself, so that she knew how she might convey her own thoughts to her brother. Yes, she knew he wasn't DEAF, but she didn't like the idea of stumbling over her words, as she tended to do when she spoke up, with her quiet, and nervous voice. The thought of it had her nose wrinkling slightly. Augh...the stutter was such a dreadful thing.

Making her way down the path from her den, to a spot that she'd become rather fond of, she noticed Nirav down the way, apparently playing with some other cubs. A smile lighting her face, she made her way over, paws light, and a spring in her step. That was...until she heard some of the things being said. As the only female in their litter got closer, she could hear the harsher words of the cubs, teasing her beloved brother about his being mute. Orange eyes narrowed a bit, and her fur bristled, prickling up over her back, and she trotted over, hissing at them in her usually-mild way, sounding....quite dangerous right now, "W-what d-do you think y-you're d-d-doing?" Flinching internally at the sound of her own speech impediment, the cub gave them the most fierce look she could, digging her claws into the ground, and letting the fur p***k up higher. When the others just stared at her, she turned her head, nosing Nirav gently.

She wanted to leave....Speaking was embarassing enough as it is, without them staring at her like that, and she wanted Nirav to be safe from people who didn't get it. Sticking her tongue out at them, she started leading him away, digging her back claws in and kicking dirt back in their faces. Sure, she wasn't usually a mean-tempered cub, but with her brothers, Awi wouldn't tolerate any disrespect. They were HER brothers, and she had every right to help protect them. She knew, after all, that they would do the same for her, if it came down to it. Dancing a bit for Nirav, she smiled at him, her dove-like smile, every inch a calm young thing, once they were away from the other male cubs.

"I p-promise, Nirav. I'll a-always b-b-be there f-for you." Augh.....She really needed to learn how to get that stutter to go away! Maybe mom would know something.

DarkHeartedSorrows

Sparkly Receiver

PostPosted: Wed May 25, 2011 4:03 am

I am Number 6

Name/Meaning: Deepti / Shining
Username: DarkHeartedSorrows
Personality: Deepti isn't rough and tumble like her brothers. She tends toward the delicate side much like her mother, and struggles with it on occasion. But she's determined to not let that get in the way of bonding with her brothers, so whether is results in insult or injury, she'll try to partake in their rough games and get through it with a smile on her face. After all, why shouldn't she be able to handle it if they can?

She loves her family, and defends them fiercely, knowing that they would always do the same for her (even if they wouldn't), but her feelings are easily hurt. If one of her good friends started talking bad about her family, it would wound her incredibly, because she'd feel betrayed.

Prompt Number: 3
Prompt Response:

She was a little worried. Not only was she with a few of her brothers, but a few more pride males had joined their game, and she knew this could end badly for her. She stood next to Nirav, the very top of her head barely reaching to his cheek, and waited for them to decide on a game.

Her brother was motioning something excitedly. She understood after much experience that it meant he wanted to play tag, but the other boys were confused, looking at each other for an explanation, so she offered what she knew.

"He want to play tag." Nirav nodded and his motions calmed, but the other boys did not. They pouted out their lips and puffed their chests.

"Why couldn't he have just said that?"

She shrugged a little, unsure how to answer. "He just.. can't."

"He can't talk!?" She shook her head, and the boys laughed. "What's he supposed to do if he can't talk? A lion without a voice is like a bird without a song!"

She furrowed her brows, upset that they were just making fun of her brother. She'd told them what he wanted to play, so why couldn't they just have fun? "It's not his fault he can't talk..."

"Sure it is." One of the cubs rumbles, still chuckling. "It's his voice isn't it?"

She bared her teeth in angered frustration. "Just because he can't talk doesn't mean it's his fault! It could be your fault for all we know! What if you couldn't talk? Then you'd be in the same place. Would you want all the pride cubs to make fun of you, too?" She huffed and bumped Nirav, who seemed aggravatingly calm, with her shoulder. "Let's go. We'll play tag with dad."

I am Number 6

Name/Meaning: Noya'nvyu - "sandstone"
Username: Talencia
Personality: Noya is a sweet girl, eager to please, and very biddable. However, she suffers from one rather difficult challenge. She tries too hard to do what she thinks others want or need her to. To the twins, she wears herself out trying to be the 'third' twin. She forces Nikita to choose all the games in an attempt to make him happy. She's always over-compensating for Chidambar's insecurities by raving madly about any little thing he does, ending up sounding completely insincere. And she ends up over-explaining her mute brother to other people, making him out as an idiot to the unaware without meaning to. She means well in all she does, but her desperate need to be everything to everyone tends to result in utter failure to make anyone happy at all. It wears her ragged and breaks her little heart that she can't seem to do these things 'right'.
Prompt Number: 3
Prompt Response: "So you see, he totally would like to play, but can't yell the words that you yell, so you'll have to invent new rules so he can play," she rattled on, talking fast in hopes of convincing them. "He can run just like you can, so he should be able to play, he just can't talk back to you, though he can understand when you talk to him, of course, because it would be silly if he couldn't, wouldn't it?" She paused to take a breath, and one of the other cubs sniggered. She paused to blink at them in surprise. "Why are you laughing at me?" she asked in a baffled tone.

"He isn't laughing at you, flappy-tongue," the leader of the game replied boldly. "It's your dumb brother. What kinda cub needs his sister to make everyone else 'behave' for him?" She was staring at the leader and entirely missed Nirav's look of tolerant exasperation. She furrowed her brow, not quite understanding what the older cub meant.

"Are you saying you won't let him play?" she hazarded. "Why not?" It didn't make any sense, after all. Being unable to speak was no reason to not be able to play with them, was it? It didn't occur to her that Nirav probably would have had an easier time getting in on the game if she'd just left well enough alone.

"Why should we let him play if he can't even ask us himself?" sneered the leader, eyes narrowing. "You can't play either, cause you're as dumb as him!" With that, most of the cubs ran off, chattering and laughing animatedly. Noya simply stood still, staring after them in befuddlement. Now what had gone wrong? Why had they been so mean? How could she have made them happy with letting Nirav play too? She wracked her brain, and turned to apologize to her brother, only to find he'd found another group of cubs to play with, and was doing just fine without her 'translating' what he was thinking.

With noone watching, her shoulders sagged and her head hung. She'd messed it all up again. She just had wanted to help. Her desire to play had sort of trickled out of her with the cruel words of the other cubs. Nirav wasn't dumb... but what if she was? With tears beginning to damped her cheekfur, she slowly made her way towards the den. Whether anyone was there or not didn't matter. She just needed a little time to gather her shattered morale so that she could try harder next time. Maybe Daddy would be in a mood to tell stories again. That seemed nice and safe and certain to be free of ridicule, and would make him happy too. Tail dragging, she padded towards home,

I am Number 6

Name/Meaning: Kundanika - Golden Girl
Username: Depawsit
Personality: Though Kundanika knows there are bad things in the world, she tries her best to see only the good. When she does encounter a situation involving the bad aspects of life the young lioness does her best to work as a mediator to the situation. Whether it be, Nirav through peaceful explanation, or trying to put a calm the storm Sachetan's sometimes over protective tendencies can bring, she does her best to do them in the most peaceful manner she can. Kundanika is a very soft spoken cub, never raising her voice higher than a 'loud' whisper, and relying mostly on expression and actions to relay her emotions due to Nirav's condition.

Knowing about her parents past, and the ordeals that brought them, and thankfully kept them together, she has a very strong love, passion, and appreciation for all life; even those who hurt her family, this isn't to say she forgives them though. She feels this way because her parent's have filled her with such love and respect that this is all she knows. In the future, I hope to have something happen to her, to give her a stronger feeling of distaste for certain creatures, but for now she will remain very loving to all forms of life. Kundanika even goes as far as to show respect for things, most wouldn't even think twice about. She has a strong compassion for insects and smaller mammals. If she steps on one, or harms a single hair on it's head, the remorse is liable to eat her alive until she confesses and is forgiven for her 'horrible sin.' Even the plants on the ground are sacred to this young Lioness and she does her best to care for them in anyway she can. Whether it be delivering water to a dehydrated plant, or simply talking to a seedling to help it grow.

I hope to have her have a strong and close relationship with her brother, Nirav. Of course she will have a strong relationship with all of her brothers, but due to her love all things, I see her most bonding with Nirav, because she may feel that due to his 'lowered quality of life' he may doubt that life is as sacred and wonderful as she thinks it is. Which would leave Kundanika attached to her brother at the hip, trying to keep him in constant happiness and confident in himself regardless of how the world around him tends to view him.

Prompt Number:2
Prompt Response: The cub sat in silence, surrounded by her family as her Father completed the story he had begun what seemed like days ago. Her mouth was agape, and her eyes wide, and brimming with the tears she hadn't even realized were flowing. To think this had all begun with a simple question.

"Daddy, why is your eye a different color than the other?" It had been an innocent question, one she hoped would come with an exciting story attached, instead in an instant her view of the world outside of her pride had been shattered. Not only were there bad people in the world, something her parents had told the cubs long ago, but to find that those people were out to hurt her family, and had succeeded. The thought sent shivers along the cub's spine as she imagined the human's coming back for her family. No her Daddy wouldn't allow that, and obviously Sachetan would do his best to help before Mom stepped in...

Feeling a tear moisten her fur as it trickled down her snout, Kundankia, fumbled within her own mind, trying to find the right thing to say, but through all of her vocabulary, not a word came out, she felt helpless, unknowing, and pitiful. For a brief moment she wondered, if this was how Nirav felt on a daily basis, but she quickly shooed the thought away, this wasn't the issue, nor could it possibly be true.

Taking a large swallow of air, Kundanika puffed out her chest, stood up straight and tried to be as brave as she could...

"Daddy-

Do you think there is more bad than good in the world?"

For her own sake, and sense of belief she silently prayed to the Gods and listened intently; all the while, her tail gently swaying back and forth in nervous anticipation.
