Kakarauri paced in the dark of early morning waiting for her newest hunting partner. She knew of the other lioness, she was a fellow huntress after all, but the two had never worked together. Following the incident with the python most of the pride was quite aware of Clerm, probably more than she'd like. "I can't say that I blame her for hunting on her own," she thought sitting down. Rauri herself had not had much luck finding a permanent hunting partner since joining the pride. She wished her brother had chosen to hunt as well, but he was a warrior.
Rauri was quite proud of her brother; he made a very good protector. That he'd come to the aid of the huntress Clermeilli-Pie was no surprise to his sister. That he later came to his sister with the suggestion of the two lionesses becoming hunting partners however had come as a great surprise. Well it was worth a try especially if Koehro was showing an interest in this lioness. The twins looked out for each other always... whether the other liked it or not...

Clermelli-Pie saw her cubs off to their day starts and chuckled. They were just starting their training in full force. She no longer had to make sure they went back to the den and baby sitters at the beginning of each day. They even had their own hammocks these days rather than snuggling with her. It was odd to think how quickly they grew up from the little balls of fluff that could hardly crawl about on their bellies!
She smiled to herself as she turned to make her way out to her new hunting partner. Her son was now going to learn to hunt as well, so perhaps they would cross paths with him in the days to come or even get to take him out with them later on. That would be a nice change of pace once she and Kakarauri got to know each other a little better. Clerm knew little of the other lioness, but that she was Koehro's sister and another hunter without a partner, which of course meant no hunting.
The blue lioness trotted along at a smooth pace. She might be a little late, but she was not going to hurry and risk being out of breath at the start of the day when they had much traveling and stalking to do today. One's hunting was usually only as good as the start of one's day. Clerm bowed her head to the other lioness as she came to her. "I see you, Sister. I did not mean to be delayed. I took the time to wish my children well on their days before I came."

Ahh, here she was, "I see you, sister," Rauri replied in the pride's greeting. "I understand and I have not been waiting very long."
To be honest Rauri hadn't recalled that the other lioness was a mother, if she had even known. Did her brother know? She gave herself a bit of a shake, there wasn't time for such thoughts. They had a job to do and to learn if they could manage that job together.
"Though I'm sure brother mentioned it, my name is Kakarauri," she continued, feeling a formal introduction was a good place to start. "Feel free to shorten to Rauri."

Clerm smiled at the other lioness. It was nice to see that her new partner understood that parenting was not an easy thing. She had a good feeling about this partnership already. That was something rare for her these days. It was a very welcome relief to think that this might work out. Clerm had gotten enough of a lecture from her "brother" and the King to last a life time. She certainly did not need them to get after her again about being partnerless while hunting. Even if she could manage it on her own, it was best not to risk their ire.
"Your brother did mention your name. My name is Clermeilli-Pie... most call me Clerm." Clerm looked at the other lioness and gave an inward sigh. This lioness was a good head or so taller than herself, just like her brother. Clerm had been used to being the shortest with her parents and brother, but was still getting acclimated to being so short in a whole PRIDE. She at least was not shorter than most of the new blood in the pride. That made her feel a little better at least.

"It is a pleasure to meet you, Clerm," the lioness grinned. Rauri already had reason to admire the straightforward lioness. "I can't blame you for attempting to hunt on your own. I've yet to have a good experience with a partner." It seemed many of the young males of the pride had only one thing on their minds when they worked with her and hunting was not it. In the right situation the lioness would not have much such interest, but she had thus far had little social interaction outside of her duties or larger celebrations.
"You've been with the pride a little longer than I, any idea of a good direction for us to start out in today?"

Clermeilli-Pie was glad to have such a well mannered and kind partner. Not that most of the pride was not well mannered or kind. Clerm was just hoping that this one would also possess an understanding of how odd it was to be in a pride that did not understand the world you came from. She did love the pride, but they had their odd little quirks and had she not had it from her parents, Clerm would have been lost in this place. Perhaps that was part of the problem? The others forgot she was from the outside because she knew so much about their ways already. She had been there long enough that she should know a bit more than she did, she supposed.
Raising two cubs, had made it hard to do much more than learn their way of hunting and do her part for the pride. She guessed she should have put the cubs to the babysitters a bit more, but that did not matter now. The cubs were getting older and soon that would not be a problem. They were in training already. It was hard to believe that they had barely still be den age when she had gotten into the tussle with the snake not long ago, and now they were doing more than just sitting with the baby sitters.
Clerm shook her head to clear it and started leading the way out to hunt. "I have done a good bit of hunting on my own... and my usual ground is a bit farther than most of the pride likes to go from Hometree. Will that be a problem for you? The hunting is better, though one does have to drag the kill further." Which by herself usually took all day, but eh, she did it anyway. She always brought something WORTH all day back from hunting further out. She just occasionally had snake problems it seemed.
