It's "American". neutral
...and the last time I checked, the majority of the cash flow in America, isn't from Spanish speaking peoples. That sort of money comes more for Arab countries, as well as Asian countries. Per capita, there are more Hispanic/Mexican/South Americans in the US than Asian or Arabic peoples but, the economy of these cultures are far more than Spanish speaking countries. In fact, more Hispanic/Mexican/South American countries are in poverty, or below the poverty level standard understood by the world.
There is a movement in Italy, Austria, Britain, and other major European countries, that and setting laws for citizenship. That immigrants must learn the main language of the country, or be denied citizenship.
This very idea, I completely agree with. One language that is understood by the masses, for public use in work places, schools, stores, ect. One language makes sense. There are programs in place, all over this country, for peoples of non-English speaking nature to learn the language, It normally is a free class, flexible hours, help when needed as much is there are for literacy in America.
Case in point; My ex boyfriend is Danish. He claims Danish citizenship and has family in Denmark. Yet, it was mandatory for him to learn English, and it's seen as the one major language people should learn in Denmark. Why? Because next to their native language, English is the most spoke and understood all over Europe. Same with areas of France, The Netherlands, Sweden, Finland, Germany, ect.
Why is America dragging it's feet on setting our language as English? I think we've just become far too "PC" for our own good. :/
