 Lilika lay down in the shade in hopes that some coolness would come from it. Today was turning out to be one of the most muggiest days she had ever had the chance to be around in the swamplands. Her fur was tacky and her positive attitude was slowly turning grumpy. Her purple narrowed in thought and then her expression brightened as an idea struck her. "Swim!" She shouted with joy, her heat-addled brain seemed to sigh happily at that suggestion.
Lilika wiggled her body in childlike glee, she wasn't one to get caught up in labels. She was very young at heart and tried not to take things too seriously as life was too short to worry all the time. She paused to look around her current resting area and frowned. Her thoughts turned inward as she thought swimming with company or family would be so much more enjoyable. But she shook those depressing thoughts off as she decided it was best to look forward and not backwards.

Bédoier couldn't remember a day INSIDE the swamps that had been like this. If there had been one, it'd been squeezed from his brain by the sheer heat and mugginess. And his darker fur wasn't helping any. The lion groaned and tried to think of a way to cool off, his brain failing him a moment. At least...it did until he caught the dull shimmer of swamp water. The mud-and-water lion blinked...then smiled.
A swim! He could take a swim! That would certainly cool him off! Why hadn't he thought of that sooner? Bédoier pulled himself up and trotted over to the water, sighing in relief as the cool liquid started drenching him; the further into it he walked, the better he felt. Finally, he was fully in the water, and started paddling about. Aaaaaaaah. MUCH better!

For what seemed like forever Lilika traveled threw the hanging branches, leaves, and vines she finally reached a place of watery goodness. She let out a puff of air that blew her long bang out of her eyes. A little dizzy spell took her for a moment and she felt like the earth was moving in funny pattern; heatstroke. Shakely Lil made her way to the watering hole completely missing another who had taken refugee in the cool liquid. Maybe if she closed her eyes for a moment, just a moment to collect her strength inorder to dip her body in the water for a cooldown.
A snap of a branch and a sudden splash made her whirl her head into the direction of the noise. A moan escaped her and her vision blurred, swirled as it blackened. Her last image was a dark male swimming towards her. "Help...me...please.."

He hadn't noticed another for a moment, caught up as he was in the wonderful relief of the cool water. A snapping branch caught his attention, and his attention was drawn to it...and then to the female still on the shore. Something...looked not-right about her. Like something was wrong with her. Being a good gentleman, Bédoier made his way over, worried. And he heard her words as he drew near. Perhaps the heat had gotten to her! He pulled himself from the water and moved beside her.
"Miss...come with me into the water. You'll feel better once you've cooled down." He made sure to support her before she fell over, making a worried noise.

She must have blanked out for a moment as she found herself supported and moved nearer to the water edge. ' Oh thank goodness.' She thought with some relief and moved her head into the water to cool down. Lifting up her now wet hair she twisted her hair in a flick making sure none of the water landed on her recuserer. " Thank you so much, this weather is a real doozy. All the moisture in the air makes for one muggy day." She spoke as she slowly slid into the cool water, closing her eyes at the sensation. " Oh! Cold but welcoming."
Lilika turned around to look at the other male, he was quite handsome in a rogue-ish way. His dark colored fur suited him well and just by looking at him she could tell he was a kind male. "My name is Lilika, it is nice to meet you. I wish we could have met on better terms but I am glad it turned out alright." She smiled and splashed water around feeling a little-childish. " May I ask who you are?"

Bedoier smiled reassuringly, nodding. "The weather today is indeed awful." Thankfully, she seemed to be recovering well. Once she was settled in the water, he joined her, letting out a quiet sigh of relief. It really was VERY muggy and hot that day. He looked to her and the smile returned.
"It is a pleasure to meet you, Lilika, even considering the circumstances. I am Bedoier." He chuckled, trying to duck the water but not quite succeeding.

Lilika softly smiled at his antics, how adorable. "It's nice to meet you Bedoier." She spoke as she watched him trying to go under the water before she too decided to join in. "It's best to hold your breath then duck your head under to test it out. So," Lilika began every curious flickering water with her tail. "Are you alone? Or do you have company?" Treading water she looked about. Her lids lowering as the feel on the water felt lovely, unlike most feline's she had met Lilika adored the water. It was her safe place, the one she enjoyed coming to when she felt she needed space.

Bedoier shook his head, making his way into deeper waters as well. Ah...cool water was a wonderful thing. "No company with me for now. Mother is elsewhere, and my son recently left on his Name Quest." And all his siblings were out on theirs still, and...well, Uncle Fleance was a rare sight nowadays. "What of you?"

"Oh, you have a son!" She spoke with delighted interest. "I hope he comes back with much success, naming can be a difficult choice to make as you are stuck with it the rest of your days." Lilika dunked her head in the water and came up spraying anything near her causing her to giggle. "Sorry sometimes I forget to go easy on the playing. Um, sadly I have not seen much of my siblings nor my parents in a very long while." Just the thought of it made her frown somewhat. " I believe my siblings are happy and most went off on their own path as for my parents well I am sure they are around here somewhere. They just don't want to be found, if you know what I mean."
Lilika swam a little closer to Bedoier just to be near him. " I hope you don't mind me saying so but you have the most lovely eyes I have ever seen. Such a gorgeous blue like the clear skies on a summers day."

Bedoier chuckled, nodding. "I do indeed. And I know he will do well." He already knew where his son's name would come from...it would come from the same place as his, for Kou was destined to carry the same secret Bedoier did. As would one of Kou's sons or daughters. They would keep that secret safe. He smiled sadly at her tale. "My siblings are still out as well, and one found a home and mate within another pride." And his father...well, Fleance had been the closest thing to a father in his life.
When she commented on his eyes, he felt the skin under his face-fur grow warm. "Oh! Uh...thank you." He'd never had someone say as much to him before. He smiled again. "And you've lovely ones as well. Like flowers."

"Good, children should be secure in themselves and it takes good parenting to get them to that point." Lilika spoke as she headed toward the shore to rest her legs for a moment and to dry off her fur. "Oh I see. I am for your brother or sister, I hope I can be as lucky as them in finding myself a lifemate and my own happiness. I adore children."Lilika looked over at the male hoping she wasn't scaring him off with take of commitment and family. The blush that graced Bedoier's face charmed her to pieces. Lilika hoped that Bedoier would like to be in her company as she found herself wanting to be around him."Why thank you very much, they are my favourite feature. My fur tends to stick out alot in the surroundings so sometimes it is hard to hunt." She giggled at a random hunting incident, no one was hurt thank goodness.
A yawn crepted up on her before she knew it and for the first time Lilika found herself utterly relaxed and comfortable in a male presence. " I hope you don't mind if I were to take a nap? I could use some company." She hoped she wasn't being to forward but she really could use another. She was feeling her pack habits coming back to her as she had been alone for so long.

Something in Bedoier couldn't help thinking that Lilika was....very different from Kisa. His heart ached a little at that thought, at the thought that she had never returned...but it was time to move on, he reminded himself. He smiled. "If you'd like, I can help you? I spent some time with rogues who had rather visible fur, but were skilled hunters."
When she yawned, and asked him if it was okay to nap...he shook his head. "I don't mind." If nothing else, he could keep an eye out for baboons or warthogs that took exception to them.

Her eyes turned a soft lilac color, which they usually did when she was touched or happy. " Thank you, any help would be most appreciated." She spoke softly as she felt the first draws of sleep creeping up her body. " We have all the time in the world." She was letting him know her interest in him personally. Lilika deep down Bedoier was a good soul and something.... something was pulling her to him. She moved closer to her protector and felt the warmth of his body lull her into a comforting place of rest. A soft smile gracing her face and eyes closed she drifted off.
