Caitan stared out at the clearing Tabia had sent him to, his green eyes aloof as he noted the pawfull of Entertainers that were practicing their trade. Each one of them was beauty personified, weather they were dancing, singing, or simply lounging in the morning sun. He had never seen so many truly exquisite creatures in one area at once in his scant time on this earth. He noted it, and disregarded. It wasn't presently useful to him. Just as they weren't, though they might be in the future.
Caitan understood the role of the Entertainer in the Pride, admired it, and when he found his footing, would no doubt make use of them, either personally or to further the need of the Pride, but for now, his presence here at their practice yard was not to choose a companion for the evening, but rather to school one of their number. His own patron, for lack of a better word, had sent him to find her protege and teach him to be more aware of what was around him.
To put it bluntly, Tabia's words had been 'Ajani can't see the spots on a leopard even if they are painted on his own butt." Caitan was not sure he understood this analogy...but there it was. Tabia had also said he'd know Ajani right away, he was the only male Entertainer in the Pride at the moment.

Ajani found a nice place in the shade to rest. He had just spent most of his day practicing and now he was going to take a well deserve break. He noticed an odd smell, a smell of sweat. His nose cringed at the smell. He did not want to smell like sweat. Entertainers did not smell, unless it was of their sweet natural smell. He felt like he had no choice but to clean himself off. If he ha too he would go down to the river and watch up, but for now he should be able to clean himself off here.
He watched the other entertainers from a distance as he cleaned himself. It had started getting a bit lonely for him. As much as he loved his fellow entertainers, being the only male was tough for him. He didn't have a male friend in the pride yet and he longed for one. He always thought that the other males thought he would be 'just one of the girls'.
He let out a sigh. For now he would just be stuck with being friends with the females. It did have its upsides. They had taught him how to properly groom and make sure to get the entire body.

Caitan raised one colorless eyebrow as he found his target in what seemed to be the middle of a grooming session. His leg up in a position that certainly showed that he was very flexible. Tabia was also right, Caitan did not think that he noticed him walk directly up to him and stand in front of him. This one was going to take a lot of work, painful, long work.
" I take it your Ajani?" The male leopard asked in a low, detached voice. It was a voice that fit in well with most of the Pride, save for one small difference, there was no 'life' in the tone of it. It sounded far to much like Noir's, like the leopard was just the white version of the dark leashed killer. A matched set for their Queen, black and white, leopards both, dangerous, and this one was speaking to him.
" You are Ajani, Tabia's student?" He asked again.

Ajani heard his name and twirled around to see who was speaking to him. It was an odd looking cheetah. "Yes that is me." he said looking at the strange cheetah. His voice sent a cold chill down his spine. He had never heard a voice like his. "Did Tabia send you?" He kept his distance from the other 'cheetah', not wanting to be rude, but there was something about him that gave him a chill.
He hadn't seen this guy before and wondered who he was and where he came from. He must be newer that I am, Ajani thought, maybe he needs to be shown around the pride and that's why Tabia sent him to be! She probably wanted someone friendly to help him out instead of someone more serious. He quietly watched the other 'cheetah' with interest. Later he would have to ask him why he looked so weird compared to him, Ajani thought, though he knew he would have to wait until the two of them were closer. You can't just ask a stranger why they look funny.

"Yes," he said simply, his words soft, but not gentle, just low toned, " she told me that I am to help her teach you."
Caitan looked the young cheetah over, as if he was assessing what it was he had to work with and how long it would take him to teach him what Tabia wanted him to learn. A light frown creased his muzzle for a second, but then was quickly gone.
He certainly was not built like a cheetah, he had much more bulk, more lithe muscle, was taller and not built for running like Ajani, but something in how he moved made you think he could lope for hours on prey's trail.
" You are free now, or do you have more practicing to do with the dancers?" His tone did not change, the color in the words still not there, something that was taken fro granted in speech somehow missing in this male's.

"She wants you to teach me, but you're younger than me aren't you?" he asked nervously, not wanting to insult his new teacher. He gave him a weak smile, in order to show he ment no harm by his words. "I mean I am sure you are a wonderful teacher, you're just a lot younger than what I would imagine for a teacher. How much experience could you have?"
He glanced at the other entertainers than back at the odd cheetah. "I'm free you can teach me. Did you want to go some where more private. My den is near by," he pointed toward the the entertainers den. It was usually empty while everyone was practicing. He would occasionally take a nap while the others preformed and than do extra practicing late at night. It was a schedule that worked for him.
He kept his eyes on the cheetah with curiosity. "I don't think I caught your name." He said. He wondered what this cheetah was going to teach him and why Tabia herself wasn't teaching him. Was it because her duties kept her busy. It must be.

" That is because I did not give it to you." The pale leopard told the young entertainer in his soft voice, " and for what Tabia wishes me to teach you, I have enough experience."
Caitan's cold eyes followed Ajani's paw, a bare turn of his head noting the grouping of dens that Tabia had shown him earlier, " Your den will be fine for now. The first few lessons are best done where few eyes can see them. It will go better for you that way."
The timber of his voice gave no indication as to what it was that Tabia wished him to teach Ajani, but it was beginning to look like it had very little to do with dancing and singing.

"I'll take you there than," he walked to the entertainers den. He kept an eye on the odd cheetah. He wondered what he would be taught. What ever it was it must be important for Tabia to have someone come out of their way to train him. He would be sure to pay attention to the details of the lesson.
"So do you like it here in 'Nera? I am assuming your new. I haven't seen you around here before," he said with a grin, hoping to get on the cheetahs good side. "I wasn't born here either. My mom and I were brought here for our protection, but I love it. I couldn't ask for a better living situation. Plus I get a chance to look at all the good looking felines," he gave the cheetah a quick wink as they reached the den.

Caitan let the boy rattle on. Like his teacher, he found that others did not like silence, and so they filled it, and in filling it, let him learn about them. In the few moments it took them to reach the Entertainers den's he knew the male had not been born to the Pride, that he and his mother needed protection from someone, that he was pleased with his life, and that he assumed Caitan was a typical male and enjoyed such things as " good looking felines'
" The Nera suits my purposes for now," Caitan replied in that same distant tone. He stopped in front of the den that seemed to be Tabia's student's.
" After you, since it is your den."

He nodded his head and headed toward his den, though he kept an eye behind him to see the odd cheetah. He looked around his den to make sure it was clean, which it was. His jewelry was kept organized in a corner of the den. He loved to try on different ones depending on his performance . It added a little flare to his dancing he thought.
"Here we are. Feel free to make yourself comfortable." He sat down and watched the other feline carefully, trying to pick up on something, anything, but he couldn't.
