Zii hadn't woken since they had returned her broken body to the pride. She had slept fitfully, constantly murmuring in her sleep; if it was sleep. It was obvious upon investigation that her hips had suffered most of the abuse, though nothing was terribly broken. A few tendons had been torn; which would heal. Her normally pristine white pelt was decorated with blackish bruises under her skin. Her daughter Ute, had pretty much slept not far from her mothers location, as she feared she would perish without her at her side.
Zii trembled suddenly, words felling her mother quickly as her paws clenched and unclenched in rhythm. What ever she was dreaming about... it was causing Zii to at least show life signs.

Ea was on edge. The vote was soon, and what had been a bad situation in the wards had become a disaster with the arrival of her sister. At least the lions she had currently under her care were more or less able to sustain some water rationing. But Zii... Zii was another case entirely. This was one of the most serious injuries since Vlam, and Ea once again felt herself floundering in a sea of uncertainty. Roots and salves only went so far when bones were broken and twisted. She was a capable doctor, sure. But Ea couldn't make miracles. Which unfortunately was what they needed.
Where was her apprentice?! "I need more of that salve over here," the wild cat muttered to the darkened chamber. Ute was still resting next to her mother's side, but it looked like Zii might have been waking. Or at least dreaming. She'd need whatever medicine they could get down her mouth if she did. At the very least something for the pain. Ea had rested her hips the best she could, but they looked painful. In the internal sense, her injuries were worse than Vlam's. At least she had been able to tend to infection. Here, they were simply biding time as the body tried to heal.
Speaking of Vlam, the large lion also sat vigilant. With Ea keeping vigil with Ute, he'd been managing the young cubs and bringing supplies that her new apprentice could not. And perhaps in his own way, he was sympathetic to Zii's plight. It hadn't been so long ago that he'd been in a similar position, after all.
But his presence did little to settle Ea's nerves. She maneuvered around Zii, nudging Ute awake so she could give Zii some space.

To Seraphina this was exciting but yet scary. Ea got scary some times that was something that she was growing used to, however not only that but she also knew that if she messed up she could get into trouble, not only that but she was afraid that she was going to lose her chance of working as an apprentice if she messed up. She listened carefully from the side of the den, trying to wait for the moment for the bigger cat to need her. Sera tried to stay out of the lionesses's way. She knew that the lioness was busy and Sera hadn't been working with her too much yet to really know how to handle the lioness yet. She just really wanted to be careful with whatever she was doing.
She was nervous because she was terrified of messing up however at the same time she was excited. She was going to be able to help the lioness and that she found even more exciting. She wans't doing simple things she was a little more hands on at the moment and she found herself more and more excited to come to work with her because she was actually doing things and she found that was making her really happy. She was spacing out for a moment before she really regisitered the lioness's words. She quickly scampered to her feet and gathered the slave in her mouth before moving quickly by the lionesses's side. She could only imagine this was more upsetting she knew that Zii was Ea's sister, that must have made everything a little more complicated. To Sera it did she was trying to be even more careful beecause of that. "Anything else?" She asked curious as she dropped the slave by the older lioness she was trying to be as helpful as possible.

Ute lifted her blue eyes and stood up slowly, walking out of her aunts way as to let her get to her mother. It was obvious by Ute's face, that she was not sure of the outlook. Her mother hadn't woken. Her back end was not going to be okay. She could feel it inside her. She had not yet shed tears, as she thought that was something that a fair few lions here wanted to see. She would not break or show weakness. Not yet. She had no reason to as of yet.
"Ea... Aunt Ea..." She said softly as she took a seat a few paces away. "Please... tell me the truth... How is she?" She asked, her eyes half lidded and her ears lowered. She wanted to be prepared. "Do not spare me the details..." She added. It was common knowledge that Ute would spare anything and everything for her mothers recovery.

Zii licked her lips in her sleep. Her shallow breathing had become more and more strong since her return to the pride; though bruises shown through on her ribs as well. Poor Zii looked like some sort of sad patchwork lioness.

The wild cat's eyes narrowed. She didn't like being put on the spot. Mostly because she didn't have an answer. She wasn't a psychic. Well. Not a good psychic, anyways. "I don't have an answer for you," she said sharply. But she knew her barbs were uncalled for, and immediately looked somewhat apologetic. "I don't... we can't see what's wrong. It's not like broken bones or wounds. I can't look inside her and know what's wrong."
She turned towards the shifting Zii. "It doesn't look good though. If we don't get that water vote, it'll look even worse. If you don't want me to lie to you, then don't expect a good outcome. That's what I'd tell you."
Luckily, she had Seraphina to distract her from her niece. "No, that's fine." She said, looking over the salve. She had to admit, it was nice having an assistant. Not that she made any attempt to show it. "See if there's any more left in the back of the cavern."
Then, she moved over to Zii. Her sister was moving in her sleep, and she hoped that was a good sign.

Sera knew that everything was tense at the moment, she could feel it in the air. It made her feel a little uncomfortable, she knew she couldn't just walk away but at the same time she knew that she had to deal with it and she had to be professional but she kind of just wanted to allow the family to have a moment to themselves. They were family and to Sera it was a little strange for her to be there and watch in on all of this. She flicked her tail around behind her as she listened carefully and tried to move quickly and yet keep out of the way.
She turned toward the lioness and then nodded. Not wanting to make too much sound, she didn't want to distract the lioness. She paused for a moment and then turned toward the back of the den trying to figure out where the Salve was. She trotted quickly toward the back and then trotted quickly once again bringing it to her to Ea again. "Do you want me to leave it here or take it to the side again?" She asked as she placed it at the older lioness's feet just wanting to make sure that she was clear on what she was going to do next. She really had no idea of what to do when it came to moments like this. She wanted to start helping the lioness but she had a feeling that Ea just wanted her to stay off to the side.

Ute observed her aunt quietly, her blue eyes showing her worry. When the first words felled her mouth, her expression did not change but her head tucked against her chest, her eyes averted. When the next series of words came, she lifted her head in a nod.
She turned to look at her mother, her expression soft. "I hope for her sake... the vote doesn't mean doom... Doom for my mother." She said softly, her paws stepping from one to the other. She looked sideways to Sera and smiled lightly, as it brought her great happiness to see apprentices.
"Hello Seraphina." She greeted her softly.
...............................................................................................................
Zii in her fevered dream sat among her family and friends; her eyes observing their plight. Wait... no... they were all healthy again. Suddenly, the purple lioness with wing that she saw not long ago it seemed, came before them all and with a flap of her wings; everyone disappeared. She murmured in her sleep, her hind legs clenching. Suddenly, her golden eyes fluttered and she licked her lips. A sharp intake of breath. Then...
"Ea..." She said softly.
