Does anyone here bring their furry lifestyle into the realworld? Aside from my freind lou, I keep my affinity to myslef. How do you guys deal with the steroetypes associated with our subculture, like for example lou is gay, and even though he knows that furry isnt gayexclusive, he tends to have that mindset. Im straight and a furry, ive been accussed of bein a zoophile, and people in highschool called me stuff like dogfucjker because i drew furry characters in class. i want people to know, but how do we combat these negative slurs?

the only thing i can tell you is like ive been told to try to explain the diffrence or just ignore them but i wish you the best of luck

In case you're curious, heterosexuals well outnumber homosexuals but bisexuals dominate, possibly giving more of a misconception that homosexuals are in the majority. Since there are still issues with people thinking there are only two kinds of sexuality, it's no surprise.

For slurs? Nothing can really be done than to ignore them since they're set in their ways and won't change. Honestly? Personally? They're boring. You should actually just outright say it if they're hounding you constantly. Of course, you'd want to explain how being a furry is hardly interesting and that if they find that interesting then they really need to get on the internet some day. I mean, drawing anthropomorphic creatures? Why don't we all just sit around and talk about our knitting. Psh, history is way more interesting and a lot crazier.

I pretty much keep it online, it's not something I deal with IRL, but my bff and her GF, I have admitted to being a furry to, but they have their own little deal of using pokemon and MLPs, and all other sorts for creatures to represent themselves at different times, and have other furry friends, so it wasn't too bad telling them.

No one else knows much, save for another friend who knows I'm pansexual, even if she doesn't know about the fursona. I'm pretty much the same way of keeping this issue backed into a shoe box, hidden deep in the closet.

I don't wanna sound like a douche but I tend to think of situations like these in my head(Is a loner so doesn't talk to people at school) I have never had to combat anything like this but I tend to think pulling out the middle finger and walking away would do something...don't know if that would work but...I don't know lol sorry if my advice is crappy.

lol i was dinosaurhumper and ******** till i kicked the kids teeth in, other then that no one gives me any trouble.. unless im in my fursuit then i might get the occasional dude who wants to ******** with me, 30% of the time i get violent in my fursuit lol
