It had been a few moon cycles since Baizuriel had stumped onto the pack that was mending itself back together after a earthquake. He had dreamed of this place. Where he could be free to live the life he chose to do what he wanted and not what he was told to do.

Bai was on his way to check to see if he was needed anywhere today. He didn't think anyone would need him he had the slight tingles of feeling needed when he woke that morning.

"Must not forget the wind blows one way but can easily change its mind." He said smirking a little though he might not had felt needed that morning there was nothing set in stone that he wouldn't be needed now.

User ImageAnother night had passed in which the dark female wild dog had stayed up to complete some of her markings and charting on the fallen rocks. On these nights, she was usually working the whole night through in order to find and record the lost transcriptions from when their rocky dens had fallen. It wasn't easy, gathering all the missing rock pieces and putting them together in a puzzle. Mintaka, Alnilam, and Alnitak could not do this duty as it wasn't any of their jobs, and seeing as how she was one of the only few survivors, it was mostly up to her to seek and replant the charting of their ancestors.

In addition, Alnilam and Alnitak did agree on something the Nyota-Wasomaji must do - rebuild their numbers in order to replace the lost strength they had before in blood and body. She even had to go away from her official duties and seek out other members actively at some points. What was hard was that most of these new members were not yet nocturnal like the rest of them, and the female found herself staying up through both the night and day, ending up with some sort of insomnia. She prayed to the night goddess that she would have strength to continue her duties despite her sleep deprivation, and by a blessing, she managed to come up with enough energy to stay up at least for the morning to socialize with some of their newer members.

The pack was now located in a small enough area to find others if they were in the vicinity. One of the new recruits, Baizuriel, was up from his nighttime slumber, as was usual. Most of them didn't have the willpower or ability to stay up through the night like them.

As she neared the silver and brown boy, she smiled cordially, even dipping her head in a curt bow to be polite with the still relatively new stranger. She wasn't familiar enough with him to be at complete ease in his presence.

"Ah yes, the wind may change its course if it pleases. But it is still guided by nature's wishes," she responded, near enough to hear the last of his words.

"Good... morning, Baizuriel," she said hesitantly only because she was not used to using such phrases in their pack.

As if on cue, she emitted a yawn that indicated her slight fatigue, but she was not tired enough to drop down just yet. She knew that the male had willingly came into their ranks as a night, but since there were no birthings to look after or dead or that many injuries, he was just assigned to help with whatever needed assistance.

"I hope you have been enjoying your time in our realm. It may still look like a bunch of rubble and rocks, but surely enough, the Nyota-Wasomaji will be restored to its former glory."

The male looked up in a slight panic. Someone had said his name. He almost didn't even noticed the female she was so dark and his eyes sight was never the best. He tried to blink the sleep from his eyes he was also so groggy in the mornings. He stretched letting out a tired yawn before shaking his head and nodding to the female. He was to embarrassed to admit that he'd forgotten her he was never good with them let alone faces.

He figured it was his curse to bear having the strange dreams. He still wasn't used to the night he embraced it fully since the night is when he always got his dreams. He looked around the lands before looking back to the female nodding slightly.

"Morning..." He muttered softly giving a goofy smile before moving a bit closer to her. Her fur was a bit ruffled in places and if made him a bit nervous. She looked to be pushing her body a bit hard. He tilted his head a moment blinking a few times staring at her till finally snapping out of his day dream. She had just asked him something what was it? He had barely caught it.

He dropped his head looking rather ashamed as tail rested between his legs his ears flat against his head. He finally looking to her meeting her light blue eyes.

"I...I'm sorry what was that?" He asked with small forced laugh trying to play it off. He'd hate for the female to think he wasn't paying attention. When the female repeated herself he sat down and let out a small fit of laughter.

"I'm sorry... I don't believe you knew where exactly it is I had come from." He said smiling big now as he tried to stop chuckling. "This place...is a gift from the gods compared to the lands in which I was born in." He said as he looked at his paws as he began to wounder about his family. "I was born a slave. I lived in a graveyard of elephant bones...so you see ma'am this place even though its broken and being mended its the best place I could have ever wished for."

"An I have high hopes that not only will the Nyota-Wasomaji be restored but that it will surpass the glory it once held. I believe that will all my heart I have a feeling deep inside." He turning away from her he never much liked letting other know about his powers always worried what they might think of them.

She noticed the look of panic in his eyes when she called him - her smile wavered, wondering if it was her fault for frightening the poor male. As much as it wasn't easy for her to get herself accustomed to this beginning of a new life, it mustn't have been easy for the newcomers to get used to being in this pack and in their presence, either. Perhaps even Alnitak had scared the poor male - with her aggressive personality, maybe she said something that made him a little more nervous than usual.

Whatever the reason, the black wild dog looked at him respectfully and brought up her patience while waiting for his response. She gave him a lot of time, actually - she noticed his looks of anxiousness and gave him the time he needed to put himself together.

She had an instinctive frown when she saw him put his ears back, shrinking, and lowering his tail. This sure made her feel like an aggressive Alnitak. That must have been it. But still, she let him wait a while before he could say something, and then listened attentively to his story.

"Hush, Baizurial," she said after he was finished, "Those are kind words. I regret that you have come from a far and harsh place, but I am very glad that you are now with us. There shall be no slaves here under the twinkling eyes of the stars that watch over us."

At his last words, though, she cocked her head, giving a faint smile. What a fantastic thing to believe! It seemed like he had all the honesty to back it up, too. This made herself feel like a fool for not being as trusting in the Nyota-Wasomaji's leaders... But still, she did face a grave loss - none that Baizuriel knew, but yet, he could relate.

"Thank you, Baizuriel. You have a strong will, I can tell that. You will make a good night in our ranks. I hope our Alnitak hasn't given you that much trouble," she said, referencing the nervousness of his gestures, "It also looks like you need to calm down a little, my friend. We all need a little good rest, especially now, for the rebuilding has just begun. When the dens are back together, I hope you will fall in love with the inscriptions on the walls! Absolutely breathtaking and beautiful, I must tell you. That is what I've been working on..."

He tilted his head a moment before listing to her before he started to laugh a little. "Forgive me...Its true I'm still not used to being around others." He said as he lowered his head a little before picking it right back up.

"No not much trouble usually just do what I'm told and don't ask questions." He said with a small smirk before his curiosity was spiked when she began to talk about the dens this sounded so interesting. He stretched out his limbs before moving towards the nearest den remolding.

"Well it looks like I have found what I will be doing today. Shall you take the lead? I'd really like to see what you are working on I've never seen anything like that before." He asked looking to her not sure where exactly she wanted to start he was still learning his way around the pack and he always got lost even if he knew the place well not that he every minded it he was used to it by now.

Ah, this newcomer was proving to be quite more timid than she would have liked them to be. Perhaps it was a bit of his personality, though, and she couldn't blame all of his anxiety on Alnitak.

"Ah, yes, I've been hoping to ask for your aid in my work during the day. Since I am not used to being up at these hours... It's been a little straining. As soon as I get you situated, I'll take a rest and then take over once night falls again. Yes, allow me, Baizuriel," she said, nodding towards the direction of some of the ruined caves.

As she walked, she thought she might as well keep up the conversation so the lad wouldn't be too nervous in the silence. It seemed like all he needed was company, a friend, and some compassion, anyways.

"So... Tell me, Baizuriel. What are lands out there like? I've only ever lived here in more or less the same place. I dare not stray out, as my heart will remain here no matter what, but still, some of my curiosity goes out to the yonder."

The male was happy to continue speaking to the other it comforted him in relaxing and getting to know others of pack. He thought a moment picking his words wisely before speaking. "I would suggest never going to lands I was born in. Its dark and smelly there sure there lots of bones but really not much food at all the Hyena's are far to greedy." He said as he kept walking beside her letting her lead the way.

"I have not been to where the waters are said to be like the earth and that is all you see for miles upon miles." he said before sighing. "I bet its beautiful there during the night hours when the moon is high in the air." He said before moving to walk beside the female now his confidence shooting up greatly.

"I went through the pride lands once...it was interesting to see all the lions I didn't stay long I knew I didn't belong there. I stood out far to much." He said with a laugh before he got a small tingling sensation but he pushed past it trying to ignore it but it kept nagging at him.

"That pretty much all I've seen...there was this one little area though that was quite beautiful for one season before the small water whole dried up and the plants died. That when I moved on and found this place." He said before moving into the den with her looking over the walls seeing the different designs.

"These...they are amazing!" He said moving closer to inspect them.
