User Image It was fat.

It was slimy.

It was fat.

It was his.

Kivuli inched forward through the long swamp grass, his ears laid back against his bright blonde mane, his paws carefully drifting over the damp ground of the swamps. His breathing was level, quiet, and controlled. He wasn't the best hunter, nor the most cunning but he figured if he worked at it hard enough- he could be! It was better than sitting around collecting moss on his backside listening to his aunt ramble on about the demon-stupids that lived outside of the pride's territory.

As far as he was concerned- anyone outside of their pride was a stupid. He'd heard far too many stories from hsi aunt to take anyone on the outside seriously. That, sadly, would be a bit of a problem when he was old enough to seek out his new name.

For now- he was the frog master.

User ImageAfter about ten minutes of giving her father the wide eyed 'please' look she was escorted to the mortal realm followed by another five minutes of the 'look' to have him not be over her shoulder. He was protective, but for some reason he wouldn't say no to her. Frauke had no doubts, however, that he was somewhere near. He always was. She didn't mind this as much as his hulking form always blocking out the sun all the time.

She had been wanting for the longest time to practice her mortal form. A white lion with a dim gold pattern on her back and tail, red around her eyes and stripped across her cheeks and slightly pointed ears. She had yet to fully master the illusion. No one said anything though, she had never meet a mortal and thus never gotten to test it out.

Frauke padded through the mud with a wide grin. It felt strange, silly, and most great! Her tail flicked upward. -Quietness and stealth... I have to be very very..OH!- She tried to concentrate on the idea of being quiet, and failed miserably. This was too much fun.

A slight movement caught her eye as a slimy green thing lept from the tall grass and vanished on the other side of the patch. Frauke's eyes widened. What...was...that?! "ohh....." She gasped.

Kivuli was so busy lurking after the fat green frog that he'd hardly noticed the new comer. The frog, sensing his presence, turned and sprang out in hopes of escape. To the slimy creature's horror- there was yet another lion sitting in wait for him.

Kivuli, not willing to lose his prey, launched himself right after it. His eyes went wide as the white patch of fur revealed itself. It was, sadly, too late. He was already airborne with his paws stretched out in front of him. His pounce was cut off into an awkward roll. He slammed into the lioness, buckled, and fell to the ground in a heap. "...ow..."

Before Frauke could even contemplate encountering another lion she was effectively slammed into.

"Whee!" She laughed.

Her tail flailed about as she tried to push herself out of the fur mosh. Purposely she tried to gather as much mud on her fur as possible. It felt so strange! Cold, wet, squishy!

"Oh, wow, the green thing turned into another lion!" She continued to giggle. "And I've never been so brown in my life!"

She was also surprised that her father didn't come out and join in the mosh pit himself.

Who put another cub there? Kivuli rolled onto his backside and began rubbing at his head. Of all the dumb places for a girl to be- it was right in front of him. That was only half of it- he couldn't see where his frog jumped off to. He'd missed the splash of the nearby pond water, he'd missed the flash of green and the bubbles rising up from the pond. It was gone.

He shot a dark look over to the lioness. She was a stranger- maybe an outsider. She didn't smell like the others, she didn't look familiar... and he would have remembered such a...bubbly bubble head.

"Hey...watch where you're standing."

Frauke blinked as she studied the snow-faced-red-eyed-once a frog. The corners of her lips turned upward as she gave a nod.

"Oh! That is very good advice! ...But, you should know that I usually keep my eyes open when I am standing." She giggled. "Or do you mean that I should watch the ground? That would be difficult. Almost like closing your eyes but not!"

Her tail flicked and her head tilted to the left. She squinted as she studied his marking closer. In truth, she was also waiting for him to turn back into a green thing. She wanted to see how that worked.
