Winter Present(s) Day role-play

Hello and Welcome to the role-play honoring giving presents in December. I have no idea what individual people celebrate so I'm being vague as possible. Because some of us apparently don't celebrate "Winter Slaughtering of Sarafan Feast"
Now, I am not setting up this role-play and the person who is posting after me will set the scene. I will, however, give the rules.

- The following Laws are in effect:

Godwin's (As an argument progresses, the probability of someone referencing Hitler/Nazis starts to become 1. Said person loses the argument instantly)
Murphy's (Anything that can go wrong will go wrong)
Wheaton's (don't be a d**k)

-Note to Law 3: if your character expresses the traits listed in the law in role play, expect other characters to react accordingly. If the person role-playing expresses the traits listed, you are kicked out of the role play.

[Zephon Bug Master]

After months of planning, coordinating, and finding the correct people, Nosgoth finally had it's own Zoo. Zephon had transformed a great deal (ok, 85%) of his territory into a public Zoo for the general public. He was quite fond of animals along with conservation and preservation of species. It had taken a lot to convince the right groups to give him a variety of endangered animals: the Amur Tiger, Golden Lion Tamarin, Red Pandas, Emperor Penguins and more.

As token of kindness, he was opening toe Zoo to his family and other guests for a sneak preview in order to celebrate Winter Festivus and various other winter holidays. His clan was on hand to look after and keep the animals secured. The animals would not be able to leave their enclosures and guests were not allowed to interact with them without permission (as doing so would disrupt the conservation and preservation process)

There was also a secret project that Rahab had been working on in the restricted areas. He hoped that would be done in time too. With food set about for the guests and various animals lounging in the chilly weather, the Zoo was ready to accept its special visitors.  

[Queen Sarafina]

(probably wont reply right away, but I feel like posting)

The Violet Witch Sarafina. It seemed she would be one of the first guests to arrive. She wasn't a vampire, like most of the guests that would be in attendance, but with her marble-pale skin, fierce eyes, and the fact that she never aged, she seemed far more vampire than human; the fact that she was drinking a blood-red liquid helped to confirm that. However, on closer inspection, the drink appeared to only be a hot, cranberry cider.

She sipped her seasonal beverage as she watched a small group of mother lions with their young, a small, fond smile on her face.  

[Sei and Jeff]

Now, behave Jeffie, or else Mama and Auntie Sera are going to be quite angry

Sei was a healer who traveled the world aiding poorer towns with her medical knowledge. Her close friend, Sera (who was well acquainted with a few of Nosgoth's vampires) had invited both her son and herself to this Zoo party. Jeff, a fidgety and slightly curious phoenix, had a penchant for causing trouble. Sei hoped to keep him away from the exotic birds as Jeff had a bizarre habit of playing Fire Tag. He didn't seem to understand yet that just because he was immune to his fire and his mother was a healer, that his flames hurt others.

Still, the food had been laid out and that was Jeff's first interest. Sei also noted that she was not the only guest who had arrived a bit early. Hopefully Sera would show up soon.  

[MadxHatterxTeapot]

Festivities were the MINItaur's favorite occurrence this time of year. It was merry, joyful, and it gave him more of a reason to practice his tap dancing. Though he did it to provide himself funds to travel abroad and advertise the misfit society for his Madame Hatter, Pianoface was pleased to come to this gathering as the Madame was busy cleaning up the mess at the society and set up to wrap Christmas presents for everyone.

He was in a little green christmas tuxedo and had shined his hooves and ferried them so that when he began to tap dance everyone could hear the rhythmic sound they made and would hopefully join in.

Pianoface 3'ft in height didn't necessarily help him reach the refreshments table to he tried to stand on his tip-hooves to see what was available.

"If it is at all possible, ladies, gentlemen, I would care for a spot of punch. Sirs and Madames."  

[Rahab the Fourth Son]

Emerging from the back labs where access was restricted, Rahab came to the central area where the guests were arriving. There he found Zephon and decided to update him on the Zoo's special project. Rahab was pleased all was going according to plan. For now he'd see how the guests were doing. He wasn't one for mingling as he disliked large and noisy crowds. Still, this was hoping to be promising.  

[Nathaniel Liir]

Like many of the guests here, Thalia possessed unusual features that would be human. Her skin was white with her haircolor blue as the sky and ears elongated resembling almost a lake creature's, her eyes gazed up at the sleeping little griffin on her head and smiled a little. Eira, her pet snow griffin, lightly stirred from her sleep with a soft clicking noise before drifting back to sleep while Thalia continued looking at the variety of animals around them.

She was about to visit the exhibit featuring Emperor Penguins when she spotted a minitaur trying to reach for a cup of punch on the table. Out of curiosity and politeness, Thalia approached him before she put down her cup to add some punch in another.

"Here you go." She said softly crouching down to hand him the cup of punch though carefully so that Eira wouldn't slip or claw her little talons into her head.

As a rule, Tabby didn't tend to approve of zoos, but curiosity got the better of her and she went to look anyway.

On arrival, the blue feline was pleasantly surprised to find a table full of refreshments, and a big bowl of punch. Meandering through the guests with faux nonchalance, she made a bee line for the alcoholic beverages and cakes.

After sating her sudden and unrelenting need for cakes and booze, Tabby looked around. Seems awfully quiet for a party. She thought. Perhaps I should go... and, uh, come back with a friend or something...

Before leaving, she took a couple of cup cakes and shoved them in her pockets.

Tabby returned, friend in tow. The friend, it seemed, was not human either - which the blue cat thought wouldn't go amiss, considering the usual turnout at these gatherings in Nosgoth.

"Come on Thoven, don't be shy, there's plenty of other non-humans here. I'm sure you'll fit right in."  

[Tea Drinking Tiefling]

Striding up to stand next to Tabby, Thoven looked over at the other party goers with a skeptical eye. Being a six foot tiefling, he was used to being ostracized by humans, and keeping an eye out for them was almost second nature. Scanning their faces, Thoven was pleasantly surprised to find what appeared to be only one human among those gathered at the party. The fact that she seemed to be at ease amidst such a group of non humans suggested that she was not as judgmental as other humans he had encountered in his travells.

Thoven shifted from foot to foot, feeling suddenly uneasy. He had never really attended any parties, or anything that involved socialising; let alone socialising with women. Looking to his feline friend for support, he asked, "Uuh, Tabby... Now that I'm here, what do I do?"

"What do you do? You go and mingle, that's what you do." Receiving nothing but a rather worried looking stare, Tabby elaborated. "You know, you go and introduce yourself to someone you like the look of and start talking to them. I know this isn't something you're used to doing, but it's good for you! Confidence building and all that!"

Tabby wandered back to the table of refreshments, and poured herself some more punch.  

[Tea Drinking Tiefling]

Suddenly, Thoven felt very out of his depth. He was used to wandering the wilds and cleaving through brigands with his trusty battle axe, not making small talk with people he'd never even met. Still, they were'nt running away sceaming, so it couldn't be that bad.

Deciding there was nothing for it but to just jump in head first, Thoven headed over to the refreshments table and introduced himself to a pale young lady with blue hair, who was helping a very small minitaur get something from the table.

"Erm, hello! How are you? I'm Thoven." The tiefling smiled sheepishly, hoping against hope that he hadn't commited some kind of social fauxpas.

Actually, it's just me and my mule... sweatdrop I thought another character with a different personality might get things moving... But apparently not. sad
