Hey guyz, what better way to end the year than with a naming contest for some lovely SoA!

Here is the deal. Best name out of each category wins... and an explanation for their name (which you may or may not put in a snippet about their history or personality or something).

The secondary condition is I'd like for you to post for a cert right when you know you've won. Since you have the name already and all. Meaning... they're all probably rogues. I'd like to cert all of these right away so I can get them out of my "to be certed" folder! Of course, if you don't do this, there is nothing I can really do about it, but you will make me sad.

Random fact: about 45% or less of all my SoA given out in thread or guild events are named/certed.

You may try and win it for someone else, but each person may only have one entry in their name, and they must keep the name you pick. Also, you may enter all of them, but you can only win one (if you have a preference, I go by whichever you post first).

Everything ends and will be judged on January 6, 6pm PST (with or without a closing post). I'll be going to multiple New Years parties, so things might come up, but I might find chill time to find winners.

Kama had been a meek, humble young lion within a small gathering of lions along the boarder of a larger pride. Somehow, he fell into service under the young female Kikombe'siagi who delighted in tormenting him with idle tasks and small errands. He never fussed, never complained, and never failed to do as he was told. As they grew into young adults, both realized that they held affection for one another. Unwilling to take Kiko as a mate until he felt he had grown into his mane, Kama left the small group in order to seek out a territory to claim as his own. The lion vanished for years and in his absence, Kiko was taken as the future mate to their bordering pride's young prince. Eventually, Kama returned and made off with his golden beauty. While he had failed to obtain a territory and followers of his own, he had managed to fall into the good graces of Pirato'Alta, the pirate king of Maestros Del Mar.

Name and meaning: Jini'Hikaya (Fairy Tale)
Tell me in plain facts a little about him, no more than a small paragraph: Jini as he prefers to be called was the product of a tragic love story - as his father was killed in a hunting accident shortly after his birth and his mother never really got over the loss. Jini's cub hood was filled with stories about the epic adventures his father went on and the great love his parents shared with one another. Of course no one knows if any of these were true or merely the wild memories of a heartbroken lioness...but it filled Jini's head with enough inclination to make the pink and white Lion follow in his father's footsteps. Jini wants to be a hero, a knight in shining armor and he dreams of rescuing a damsel in distress, a lioness who cn truly be his princess in life.

Name and meaning of male: Jacinthe (French for "Hyacinth" which is a vividly pink, blue or purple flower with multiple blossoms)

Name and meaning of female: Chanua (Means "Blossom" in Swahili )
Tell me in plain facts a little about them, no more than a small paragraph: They first met as cubs when their mothers took them to the jungle to look at all of the flora, both of their mothers having a love of flowers - hence their names. (Jacinthe's name has a French origin as opposed to an african one because his mother met a bird when she was pregnant who had - according to the bird - traveled very far and heard the names of flowers spoken in another language when he was resting one time in a garden in a foreign country.)
At the time they were taken to the jungle to look at flowers by their mothers, each of the cubs found this activity boring for different reasons, and had against their parents wishes, wandered off. It was then that they met, Jacinthe hunting a, well.. a cricket, pounced through some bushes at it, and landed on Chanua, who had been sunning herself in a small clearing. The two hit it off, though they shortly had to go back to their parents. But forever after they made no protest to joining their mothers when they wanted to show them the flowers, and always snuck off to meet each other, becoming good friends, and once they had grown up, mates~ :3

Name and meaning: "Tikelo" (A Sotho word for sunset)

Contrary to his subtle coloration, Tikelo is not quiet at all. In fact he's very outgoing with high ambitions to find and join a pride where he can become the leader. - He's all about the ladies. In fights he refuses to back down, when angry, he has an intimidating presence. Siblings and other cubs who would tease him when he was young for his "cute" markings quickly found themselves either on their backs with a growling Tikelo with paws on their chest, or rightly running away with their tails between their legs from his immature roar. Now that he's grown up, he's just as quick to defend his manliness and no one dares tease him anymore, or quickly learns not to, or they find themselves regretting their actions.


The mysterious cheetah

Name and meaning: Bulalasukusitha (he would go by Bula for short)
It is a combination of the Zulu words "Bulala", "ubusuku" and "-sitha" that roughly translates to "Deadly Nightshade" which is a leafy green poisounus flowering plant with vivid purple and yellow blossoms.

Even though his colors are dark, this cheetah has no taste for the night, in fact he's scared of dark places where he can't see at all. He was named for the fact that he is such a good hunter, being able to hide in the dark so easily because of his coloration. Even was a cub he was able to pounce on his sibs or unsuspecting 'prey' bugs without them catching wind of him. He's shy with the ladies because he thinks his colors aren't very flashy compared to other cheetah, though he is proud of the purple in his mane and on his legs, and takes care to keep his coat glossy. He has a habit of chasing things that are tiny, just because he thinks it's more fun than big game. He's excellent at catching lizards. Bit of a goof, shy when you wouldn't expect it, but will impress you with his speed and stealth.

Name and meaning: Setlhamonwepha (Sotho for "war paint" and Zulu for "claw" ) She would go by Setlh - pronounced 'settle' for short
Tell me in plain facts a little about her, no more than a small paragraph:
This sultry lady isn't above using her sex appeal to win her way, though when and if she chooses to mate, she is extremely picky. She has a stubborn streak and never passes up a chance to show off her hunting prowess if there is anyone nearby to impress. Her name comes from the slash markings on her face that resemble claw marks and war paint both, and her personality as a cub fit as well, since she would paw at things that displeased her rather roughly even before her claws were of much use. She owns her name and isn't one to be triffled with when she gets angry.

Tell me in plain facts a little about him, no more than a small paragraph:He was a secret weapon for his pride they were going to use for war with another, they trained him since birth to be a killer an assassian; he had no flaws except one he blacks out. Normally Nuru was is quite happy and very socialable he even loves cubs but soemtimes he has episodes triggered by anger. One minutes he's one place then next he is in another with blood on his paws and claw marks down his back. He doesnt know or even remember what happened. However there was never a war of prides because fire struck his pride some like Nuru got out others died within the flames.

Tell me in plain facts a little about him, no more than a small paragraph: The lion is heart stuck his mother died while giving birth and, he was a to-be-king in his pride; noble, proper but he fell in love with a female who was a servent. His father found out and had her bannished for eternity because it was unexceptable. He found out what his father did and now himself has turned his back on the pride changing everything he ever knew was right and good and set forth the search for her in hopes one day he will find her.

Tell me in plain facts a little about her, no more than a small paragraph:She believes she is cursed, if someone touches her anyone she will die. She tries to distance herself from those around her. Kivuli believes that if she gets touched she will not only die but live in a never ending place of darkness, forever alone in the abyss a home for her lost souls.

The mysterious leopard

Name and meaning: Mtimvi ( "Person of ill omen - one for whom an unfortunate life was foretold at their birth" - Swahili )
Tell me in plain facts a little about her, no more than a small paragraph: As her name suggests, Mtimvi wasn't a welcome addition to the group she was born into. Her mother died whilst giving birth to her, and shortly afterwards, her father died of what many assumed was a broken heart. Although it wasn't within the group to simply abandon the cub, as she got older, it was made very clear to her that she wasn't welcome there. She wasn't raised with love and was actually treated quite cruelly. She left eventually, but not without first having acquired a few mental scars. She has a very dark view on the World, and prefers to be on her own at all times.

Name and meaning: Yadumu ( "Long Life" - Swahili )
Tell me in plain facts a little about him, no more than a small paragraph: Yadumu is the name that others have given this cheetah, as his real name has never been revealed. This is because this cheetah is very much a 'chancer'. He manipulates others for his own gain and takes advantage of any desperate situation that he may come across. He often preys on vulnerable females. He will worm his way into their hearts, only to eventually break them. Then he'll move on to the next unfortunate soul. Some think that he's simply a myth, something that has been made up to explain when something has gone wrong or something has been stolen or lost. He is simply very good at assuming a character, making up a new back-story every time he meets someone new, and leaving no traceable evidence behind to help track him down.
