The pride | Overview
A peaceful pride, the Elimisha'sombea are dedicated to the pursuit of knowledge, through scholarly diciplines or physical training. The forest pridal lands are colonised by leopards and their familiars.
The leopards claim the treetops of the thick jungle as their home, while Familiars roam the forest ground. Leopards may use the ground for travel, but the ‘dens’/homes for the leopards are in the trees.
Dedicated to safety, the Tree Dwellers do have a defense force, but it is purely for defense not offense. Sentry (Guards) and Warrior (Soldiers) forces are maintained to protect the colony from danger. However, many in the pride's defense forces believe that knowledge can be found through fighting and strength, not only through the collection of knowledge.
The largest segment of the pride is made up of Scholars. Scholars pursue knowledge in a variety of forms, and take ranks to reflect their dedication to learning and understanding the world.
There are 'common' ranks, which do not search for knowledge as actively as those in Defense or Scholar ranks.

The Leopards | Ranks

The 'leaders' of the colony. The Council members all have equal power over the pride. When it comes to important decisions in the colony, they are called together to vote. Whichever choice has the majority of votes (3 out of 5) is the decision which will be made.
They are considered to be the wisest (if from the Scholars) or the strongest (from the Defense) of the pride.

Focusing on knowledge based on herbs and reactions between things, Chemists are often the makings of the medicine which is administered by the medics.

Focused on healing, Medics know the physical form well and study on how to heal ailments, using their own concocted medicines or relying on the Chemists to supply it to them.

Star-Gazers are normally nocturnally minded, studying the night sky and sometimes day time sky. Some believe that Stars tell the future, others merely want to know what they are.

There's more to being a Story-Teller than just telling stories. Story-Tellers focus on the past, and store vast amounts of knowledge in the rank, not only the past of the pride, but collections of stories from a variety of prides, locations and sources.

Focused on helping and understanding the animal mind, they may counsel people, or preform experiments. Either way, they concentrate on understanding why an animal acts a certain way, and what causes it.

Law-Speakers enforce the law of the pride and keep the peace. If there is a dispute between parties in the pride, they each seek out a Law-Speaker to help resolve the dispute.

Studying rocks, and gemstones, Rock-Hunters study the ground and what's beneath the forest.

Dedicated to teachng the next generation, Tutors can have a wide range of knowledge, or a select area of expertise.

The Commander of the Defense Force. He has power over both Sentry and Warrior forces, and both the Warden and Captain must answer to him. He reports directly to the Council.

The Captain of the Warriors. He has control over the Warriors, and is involved in training and preparing for battle (should war ever come to the forest).

Fighters. They are trained to fight and defend their forest, should it come to war.

The Captain of the Sentries. He has control over the Sentry forces, and is involved in the organisation of guarding schedules and the training of the guards.

Adolescence. They must chose a Mastery to apprentice in, at adolescence, however they may experiment in any rank before making a final choice on adult rank.

Beliefs |
xxxSpecies // Only leopards and familiars are accepted within the pride, with the exception of the ambassador ranks. Hybrids are tolerated until they are adult, and are then asked to leave the pride. They are allowed to visit, but may not stay within the colony after adulthood. There aren't stigma attached to hybrids, or leopards who produce hybrids, however due to their way of life, the hybrids are unlikely to be able to actively live in the colony.
xxxFamiliars // Familiars are treasured by the Tree Dwellers, especially amongst the Scholars as they are essential for many to research and gain further knowledge. The Defense forces favour the more aggressive type familiars.
Familiars, especially those which may be classed as 'food' beasts, MUST be bound to a leopard. Else they run the risk of being eaten, or being treated as a threat.
Leopards don't need to have a familiar to join / be part of the pride, but they are useful. Leopards may have multiple familiars.
xxxReligion // Many believe that knowledge is more their religion, however the Elimisha'sombea worship an assortment of gods, including;
Li Wei (Thalion), God of Peace | he is believed to keep the pride free of war.
Valetudo'Sero (Fiction1119), Goddess of Herblore | mostly worshipped by the medics and chemist.

xxxMates // Most will take only one mate in a lifetime. It is seen as a union of two minds, two bodies, and is something that should be taken seriously.
Divorce / Breaking up with a mate is possible, but usually frowned upon.
xxxFlings/Rogue Breedings // Not unaccepted, but not encouraged either. Cubs are seen as the next generation of knowledge and strength, and so are celebrated no matter what form their parentage takes.
xxxRogues// The pride is very open to rogues and visitors. They will need to pass Sentries in an effort to reach the main pride, but if they are not aggressive then they are welcomed. The pride always welcomes rogue joining.
Aggressive (towards the pride/or person) rogues will be escorted from the pride by the defense force and told not to return.
