There was no hiding it. Kakek was almost always a trouble maker when he was little. He liked to get into what he wasn't supposed to get into. He was always playful and happy but he liked trouble. He liked trouble a lot. At the moment though he got himself into a whole handful of trouble of a different kind. Although he wasn't exactly "in trouble" no one was mad at him, so to speak. Well some one was and it was the whole center of his trouble. He knew the whole pride by now knew and he didn't know what to do with himself because of it. He had no idea at all and that was the frustrating part to him. He also felt kind of ashamed, he was named after his grandfather in a way "grandfather's fire" and he knew that there was no way his grandfather would have done this.
He didn't know what he was thinking at the moment. He didn't even like Kasi, or so he though, and he went and knocked her up, and now she gave birth to three small cubs that he just didn't know what to do with. Obviously he was going to take care of them and obviously he was going to love them, but what was he going to do with Kasi. Ugh! He didn't understand what got into him. What seemed like fun, didn't seem like fun that much anymore that was for sure. He sat atop a rock not that far away from the dens but far away enough where he could clear his mind for a little.

Except that if he had wanted peace and quiet to settle his mind, he most certainly was not going to get it. Someone had been watching him and that particular someone was his own brother, Nur'yu. Now a fully-fledged Watcher, no one could say he wasn't always trying his best to do his job as well as he could. Which meant that he was always snooping into everyone's business - something that wasn't exactly apperciated by a lot of the Firekin he affiliated himself with.
But Nur'yu, being a Watcher, could also tell when something was bothering a sibling, especially Kakek who was normally a cheerful and lively fellow himself. So, determined to put a smile back on his brother's face, Nur'yu stalked forwards to close the gap between them, preparing to launch into a happy tirade about what his plans for the day were.
Thus, when he got close enough, he broke into a run only to skid to a step a couple of paces from his brother's location. The act sent a spray of sand billowing up into the air - the wind bringing most of it back down on him. Through a peppering of gold, he grinned up at his sibling and waved his tail. "Hey, Kakek! What are you doing brooding up there? You want to come help dig some trenches or what?"
Nur'yu also had a special talent for finding fun in the most menial of tasks...

The male was fully absorbed into his thoughts until he heard something, well some one coming his way. To say he was surprised was a little off. He wasn't exactly surprised. He had a lot of siblings and to find one of them creeping around after him wasn't too much of a surprise. Especially with how close his family was. There were 10 of them and he was one of those 10 and even though there was 10 of them. His mother made sure to make it clear that all of them were to be close and get along. He liked how close his family was, he loved how close his family was but there were some times where he wanted to be alone.
But the sound of his brother's voice made him smile. He loved his brother, he loved all of his siblings but him and Nur were pretty close. That was always pretty exciting to him. He flicked his hair out of his eyes and then turned toward his brother and then chuckled quietly. "Not really up for that." He laughed a little and then shook his head and then flicked his tail around behind him thinking. "That isn't really the most about of fun, well... really I'm just not in the mood to."

"Ah." Nur'yu opened his mouth to respond and then seemed to think better of it. Instead he dropped onto the sand and, sitting, continued to glance up at his brother curiously. Once he had gathered his thoughts, he spoke again, being careful with what he said. Something was certainly up.
"We could...always play-fight? You know...like we did when we were kids." And in his head, Nur'yu was still very much a big kid. He didn't like the thought of growing up and being boring, although he did love the fact that he was no longer an apprentice. Instantly he was back on his paws, bouncing on them in preparation. Surely his brother would say yes and come at him with a surprise attack.
Well, he would be ready for it when it came!

Kakek turned toward his brother and smiled at him a little. He pawed at his brother before speaking. "Well. I kind of really don't feel like doing anything." He started with a sigh and then shook his head he was so upset lately and he didn't know what to think. He looked at his brother and then made a small face looking at his paws afterward. "well, Nur, I am really upset. Like..." He growled out of a little frustration before then turning toward the male once again. "I feel so dumb Nur." He got to his feet and then started to pace in front of his brother. "I really had no idea of what I'm doing. Nur!" He turned toward his brother and huffed upset. "I can't be a father Nur!"

Nur'yu's characteristic smile faded from his face as he heard his brother talk about himself like that. He must be really down in the dumps to not want to play and call himself names. He opened his mouth to respond to him with a firm: 'you are not dumb' when his brother followed up with that next statement,
Father?
"Well..." He tilted his head a little. "You're still young yet, you don't need to worry about that stuffy grown up stuff yet. Not until you've found a girl you want to be with." He nodded matter-of-factly. Then, instantly, he wondered whether his brother had found a girl. Maybe she was pressurising him into having kids so soon? "Have you found a girl, Kakek? Is that what all this is about? Is she pushing you around? You really ought to tell her, if so."

Kakek turned toward her brother and then smiled at his brother, he flicked his hair out of his eyes and then paused before he started to talk to his brother once again. "Well...' He was confused, his brother didn't seem to have any idea. He thought the whole pride new at this point. His brother really didn't know. That was the way it looked anyway. He looked at his brother and then paused trying to figure out how to explain it to his brother.
"Okay..." He started off before then turning toward his brother once again. "You know Kasi?" He had to know Kasi, she was ALWAYS around the den she was taught by their mother and she was still good friends with her. He knew that she was around often he had a feeling his brother had to know the same. He knew her didn't he? He hoped his brother did that would make this a little easier. "Okay, well..." How did he start this. "Well one day we were arguing like normal." They were almost always fighting there was no denying it. Even though now he had to admit he had a crush on Kasi any other time he couldn't see it then. "Well, we were arguing and then. Well. I licked her cheek and it all went down hill from there." He paused and then turned toward the other male and sighed. "Nur she just had three cubs and they're mine."

"Kasi? Oh, yes, I've met her! She came by once to find Mum." Except that Azar had not been there and he had. That had been quite an interesting conversation and though she had seemed a little serious, Nur'yu would refer to her as a friend now. Come to think of it...she'd mentioned that she'd known Kakek, then, hadn't she?
He frowned in thought but then Kakek started speaking again and he lifted his head to listen to him. Okay so arguments and then...licking? Aw that was sort of cute, he supposed. Although Nur'yu was a little sad that he hadn't known about that earlier - it would have been wonderful to tease him about said crush.
And then...the big news.
Nur'yu's eyes widened and for a long moment he was very quiet and then, quite suddenly, he blurted: "You....you're already a father?!" He was on his paws again, rearing up onto his hind legs so that he could wrap his forepaws around his brother's neck in some resemblance of a hug. And then he was bouncing back to the sand again, turning circles in his joy. "This is amazing! I can't believe it! That was so quick and...secret! I can't believe I didn't notice!" For a Watcher he was not very perceptive. "Congratulations! What are they called? When can I meet them?"

Kakek was glad that he didn't have to explain who Kasi was. That would have been annoying to explain. He was pretty sure that he liked her but yet at the same time he wasn't sure at all. He liked her but then he didn't but he did but then he didn't. He turned toward his brother and nodded as his brother admitted to knowing Kasi.
He was waiting for some kind of crazy response from his brother. He had no idea what was coming, not idea at all, he just expected his brother to be upset at him or at least help him understand what to do or help him figure out how to cheer him up. He was expecting every reaction except for the one that his brother gave. He was happy for him. He could understand why but he was still panicking, he was still panicking a lot. "Yes, I'm a father." He said with a small chuckle before turning toward his brother. "Well Kasi wanted it to be a secret, I thought everyone knew by now though." he said with a small sigh but laughing a little as his brother pulled him close. "I mean I'm happy I love my cubs but I don't know what I'm doing. And Kasi and I always argue about everything. It's so confusing." He then smiled as he started to talk about his cubs. "There are two boys and a girl. Ravi'baridi, Tuz'rokom and Safi'lipuka. And you can come visit them as soon I can convince Kasi it's okay for others to visit them other than my mother and myself."

Nur'yu's eyes brightened. They had pretty names! It must be an amazing thing, he thought, to h ave cubs and be responsible for their identities and their safe-keeping. He thought, very much, that he'd like to have cubs someday and to teach them games and play with them and make sure that they were never sad. But until then, he could be an uncle and that was a pretty amazing thought.
"Don't worry, Kakek. Things will work out. I think you like like her and maybe you're just worried that she doesn't feel the same way? But she's had your cubs. That's gotta mean something! And, you know, maybe your arguing is just the way you show each other that you care?" He nodded eagerly. "Sort of how Aunt Fia always calls us 'nuisances' when what she really wants to say is that she's glad to see us." His tail whipped from side to side as he digested this new information.
He was an uncle! To three little cubs! "I'd love to come see them! I do hope she'll let me visit soon! They're bound to be big, strong soldiers, just like their parents, right?" He beamed and reached out to pat a paw against his brother's shoulder.
"Don't worry, Kakek. No matter what happens, I'm here to help and so will all out other siblings. What did Mum say?"

Kakek turned his attention to his brother. He did have a point. And even though in his mind he felt his and kasi's relationship was much, much more complicated than others understood but the point was that he thought his brother might be on the same idea. He was also pretty sure that she was just as scared as he was when it came to this whole cub thing. He was thinking so anyway. "I guess that makes sense though." He said simply with a nod before smiling at his brother. "I'm hoping your right and I hope it all works out the way it needs to. At the moment it's like one big headache. But the cubs are very nice to have around. Although stressful and scary, they are pretty cute."
"I'm pretty sure she'll give in, if not then I'll sneak you in when she is spending time with Azar, i mean they are my cubs too." He said determined. He wouldn't tell that to Kasi though she had been so grunpy lately. He would try to sneak his brother in though. He wanted his brother to meet them. He then had to think about it. "Well... Mom didn't say that much. She seemed very, very excited though." He laughed a little. He felt like their mother was crazy at times, fun and nice but crazy at times.

"It'll definitely work out in the end. Life would be boring if it all went nice and smoothly, wouldn't it?" He smiled and bobbed his head enthusiastically. "You're going to be a great dad, I just now it. You and Kasi will work things out. I know you will!"
He chuckled. "Stealth is my speciality! I'd be in there and out before she even knew what had happened! The cubs might say something, though." He laughed. "But by then it'll be too late, so that doesn't matter! Besides, they'll probably be out and about under the sun within a couple of weeks or so, right? Then everyone will get a chance to see the new arrivals!" He was very excited about that.
"I bet she was! You know what Mum is like about family. You'll probably have to pry the cubs off of her." He grinned, leaping up to sit alongside his brother and keep him company. Nur'yu certainly had faith in his brother and his positive attitude would not let him think anything other than the best for his family.
"It'll be great. You'll see."
