It had been some time since Kubwa had seen the brave knight who she had met near the pridal borders. During that time, she had caught what she thought was a cold, but it had passed relatively quickly and she was more or less fine now. Still, during that time she had been a bit too ill to journey out near the borders of the lands, and she hoped that she had not missed her new friend while she had been ill.
Now that she was doing better, she was going for another walk, hoping that she would run into Chaku again while she was out here. She couldn't be gone for too long, though - she would have to get back to the cubs in her charge sooner rather than later, but in the meantime she was free to seek out her handsome new friend.
"I wonder if he's there? Oh, I hope he's there - he might be there right? Maybe he'll have had a proper adventure by now! Maybe he found his damsel..." Surprisingly, this last thought did not please Kubwa in the least, and she walked quietly for a few moments, trying to sort out why that idea made her feel kind of... sad. She was incapable of staying upset for long, however, and soon she was speculating happily again as she trotted toward the area she had last seen her Chaku.
He would be there, right? He just had to be there! And she would say hello to him, and he'd say hello back, and they'd talk and exchange stories and he'd decide to come and tell stories to the rest of the pride and maybe he would decide to stay and they could have lots and lots of pretty, bright-colored cubs and -
Well, to say that Kubwa was excited at the possibility of seeing Chaku again would be something of an understatement.

The blue lion had thought he'd been far from the sickly pride. In fact, he had been travelling for days it seemed, and had done his best to follow the sun. Unfortunately for Chaku though, a series of mishaps, and doing a little night travelling, meant that all the lion really had done was walked in a massive circle.
Worse, he had been chased down by a small band of not-so-amicable hyenas. While he was certain he could take one on, with minimal damage, a small group of five meant he was sorely outnumbered. He had fought them (since they had tried to get in on his kill) but ultimately was driven out. In that battle, he had twisted his front paw, which meant he now traveled with a limp.
It wasn't broken, but it would be awhile before he was fully healed. Honestly, he just needed to find a place to rest so he might recuperate. He was suffering from a few fresh bite marks on his flank, legs, and chest. Unfortunately though, stubborn pride kept him on his paws -- stubbornness and an absolute need to keep moving. He had to find a watering hole or he'd be in big trouble. . . .
The fates, unfortunately, were playing tricks on the young lion. For as great a warrior as he wished to be, he wasn't doing such a great job; he lacked finesse and skill, and certainly had no idea how to truly travel by moonlight or by marker. So it was when his eyes caught a fellow lion in the distance, and one that was painfully bright blue and pink, Chaku slowed in his limping forward.
Wasn't that . . . . ?
No . . .it couldn't be. . .
Could it?
The land surrounding him was flat, and it didn't look like where they had last met. What was her name again? Kube . . . Kobe . . . . Keba . . . Kubwa! She had been amicable enough the last they met, but if that was the lady, then Chaku hadn't made any real distance at all. "Hello, stranger!" He called out again, hoping to catch her attention. Maybe this was just someone who looked like the lioness he had last met. Yeah, that had to be it. . . .

Kubwa wasn't expecting for someone to call out to her - in fact, she was so unprepared for it that it frightened her into jumping straight up into the air, even her tail lifted. "Aaah! Who's there?" She called out, looking frantically around - and then she spotted him. It was her knight, it was her knight! He'd returned at last! Doing a happy dance on the spot, Kubwa immediately changed direction to bound over to him, a wide smile on her face.
"Sir knight! Sir knight, you came back!" She would have bounded all the way up to him, but she wasn't very good at watching where she was going, so she tripped over her own paws and went rolling forward to sprawl in a splayed-out position nearly at the other's paws. "Oof!" She grumbled, and tried to regather herself.
She'd caught her side along something sharp during her tumble, judging by the lightly-bleeding cut she now sported along her side. "Oh, poo," she grumbled, and tried to start cleaning it... while still talking to her knight. "Mmphello agshhen!"
