[Set] held his head high against the setting sun as he glanced about the white beaches of the Kizingo'Zaa. It had been quite a journey to find, but here he was. Pink eyes brightened as he looked out to the cliffs for any sign of 'company'.

Ever since he had caught wind of a like-minded band of lions he had spent the early years of his adolescence searching. Likely doing it wrong as some lions were rather vague about it. Regardless, here he was. A satisfactory grin formed on his maw. Nothing like accomplishing a half-life goal was there? Well, almost accomplishing a half-life goal. He still had to be accepted... Now what were the rumors surrounding that? Blood trial? There were so many he had heard. It kind of made the whole ordeal exiting. Like getting a random bird out of an egg.

A stranger in the lands wasn't an uncommon sight these days. With the lifting of the curse, the blind insanity of the lands was no longer touching on the minds of those that skirted the borders. It had been a shield, true, but at the same time it had been a terrible blight on the members here. Some who still suffered the after-effects of the curse were lost in their own fantasy land. Those that had recovered and still clung to the old ways were miserable creatures. They would stare out, moaning and sighing to themselves. They had embraced their servitude to insanity. To live life blind to reality and oblivious to true emotions was nothing more than slavery. At least in Shandor's mind.

With the curse's lifting came new faces- and new opportunities. Shandor wasn't the most compassionate of individuals, true, but he kept his borders well. New members meant more protection, more minds clear of the curse, and more claws to defend those that couldn't, or in many cases those that wouldn't.

Shandor went out of his way to circle the male from a distance, keeping himself downwind and well out of sight. The rough rocks and cliffs that surrounded the beach made for perfect nooks and crannies to slip into. The sand silenced his step, and the ocean drowned out even the sound of his breath.

"Wandering paws are dangerous around here." A voice piped in from behind the pink-maned stranger. "Especially malicious ones. What brings you to the sea?"

Set's ears swiveled at the sound of another being's voice behind him. Well, that didn't take long at all. A grin stretched across his maw as he turned around to face the noise, his ears constantly alert for a change in tone or position. Of course he didn't think he would be openly welcomed. They were a smart bunch, knew how to keep safe. Especially after that whole ordeal with the goddess of madness... to think he had hunted a pride that had been avoided.

"Dangerous, yes, malicious intent? No. I came chasin' a rumor of alike minded bunch." He shrugged his shoulders and cocked his head to the side.

Pink eyes brightened at the thought of realizing a long time realized dream.

"It depends on what state of mind you have to call yours." Shandor answered with a raised brow and a curious tilt of his head. There were several states of mind that an outsider could claim kinship to. Madness, short memory, an invisible best friend, another voice, or plan sanity and a slick wit. The later would be preferable but he wouldn't always be so lucky as to find decent rogues on the border.

"Do tell."

"Silver tongued bunch, quick witted, and above all; it is perfectly justified to indefinitely borrow something..." Set grinned.

He had heard of some rumors regarding the goddess of insanity, but that had long since past. New rumors had sparked his interest of the bunch.

"Besides, I have a bit of a soft spot for a good story. I can imagine the stories that can be shared around this place."

Shandor tilted his head slightly as the male in question described himself. Interesting fellow. As forward as they came these days and without any hesitation or hint of reservation. It was one thing to be silver-tongued, quick witted, and the owner of a pair of sticky paws but it was another thing to say one was. Still, if he was bluffing it was a valiant effort on his part, and quite bold in such a territory. Had the rumors of madness spread to the stranger's ears he might very well be risking life and limb- depending on the degree of madness and the from it took. While those within the cursed lands had been largely peaceful, Shandor had encountered his share of dangerous insanities in the past.

"Not to mention modest." He tossed in, his tone dripping in sarcasm. "Friend, here words hold more weight than words. If you've the words to speak you'd best have the actions to give them truth or be much better at a bluff than that."

He smirked. "I am certain a story you've come to hear or see but do you have the means in which to carry it beyond this meeting?" And now it was his turn to throw out a bluff. If the stranger could at least throw a guard up against it he'd be on the right road of being so-called 'of a like mind'.

Set watched the other carefully, judging his movements all the while holding his eyes in lock with the others eyes. His stance suggested all the confidence in the world. He wouldn't break out of this without a fight, his muscles could attest to such.

"Well, I wouldn't have come this way just to turn around with tong bit and tail tucked." He lifted his head before offering a grin. "And if there is such a good story as I've heard around here, it will be carried wherever I go, profits returned for such a good story. "

His tail paused in its calm sway as he waited for his answer. Hopefully it was what he was needed. He was aware that he very well might have to run for his life.
