That was odd: since when was the main tent in the center of the reserve accompanied by a closed off pen?

And there it was reconfirmed: next to the main trance tent where Medea, and occasionally the four Protectors would reside, was a small closed off pen. Small, being a relative word, as the size itself was rather generous, and so were the gates, made entirely out of newly cut and polished, hammered and pegged wooden fences.

There were a few notable things however, that seemed very very odd. The first was that the pen was open, or rather, a section of a hinged gate was angled outwards. The second was that there were several notable cloven hoofprints against the grass all leading outwards. And the third, the most problematic, was the head Priestess, Medea, wandering back and forth inside the pen looking extremely perplexed.

Clearly this was a problem of urgent importance

Molpadia was on her way back from the weeping forest, a place she was starting to dislike - which was sad because it was a forest and she loved forests as a rule..but this one..this one wasn't her forest, it was different and thusly wrong when she mentally compared it to the forests from home - a pointless task she chastised herself because this was home now and the forest she so lamented after was gone. None the less the differences between this forest and the one she had so loved had managed to worm themselves quite under her skin by this point. Perhaps she told herself she would feel differently in time - once she got to know this new home as well as she had known her home of old.

Such inner thoughts were brought to a sudden halt however as her typically observant sub-conscious told her something was different... a mental que which had her pausing slightly and taking a better look around. Strange..she'd never seen this pen before...thought this wasn't all that worrying considering the general status of construction the reserve was in. There were frequently new additions to be noticed on walk through's. Molpadia might have continued on her way again without a second thought about the new pen - if the head Priestess hadn't been wandering around inside of it looking incredibly stressed about something or another. Best to stop and offer some help she supposed. "Something wrong?" She asked, coming to a stop outside the pen and peering over the fence to take in the cloven tracks within.

Fai was in a remarkably good mood for having as rough a week as he'd had. In fact, the smile on his face was a bit worrisome to those that knew him, but the explanation was quite clear when one looked at what he was carrying. Fai had found a new friend.

It was riding on his palm, looking up at him adoringly as he examined it. It was only when he ran into one of the poles of the newly built pen that he even noticed it was there. And empty.

"What, ah, exactly is this?" he asked curiously. "Are we starting to collect wild life of some sort?"

Medea's facial expression was hilarious, and it was worth watching. For a moment Eisheth was going to laugh loudly, but managed to stay calm by the sheer power of will. Though, the hoofprints in the the grass were no less fascinating: the alchemist set herself down and quickly examined them. Looks like a four legged minipet was rushing away from the pen, and perhaps, that's why Medea looks so stressed. But is it's Medea... could it be something important?

"What happened here?", she addressed Medea reverently. "Can I be of any help, Head Priestess?"

Medea looked just as distressed as she followed the hoofprints that ran in circles around the pen - essentially walking in circles.

"I think," She finally managed, pausing for a second from her path of no discernible end, "I am missing Mr. Fluffy."

There was something just mildly wrong about her saying those last words out loud and entirely seriously. She began circling again: many Death clan members were probably aware that the Head Priestess was eccentric, but how much seemed to be another question entirely. She suddenly paused, looking up again. "You haven't seen Mr. Fluffy, have you?"

Again, the tone wasn't exactly wistful as it was more oh, deadpan and straightforward.

The s**t just got serious!

Well, it appears that was a serious question. A question of high importance. Mr. Fluffy. Eisheth had no idea who is Mr. Fluffy, but was absolutely positive, she'd remember, if she met smb who can be called such a name.

"No.. no, I haven't. But we can find him for you! How does he look like? When did he disappear? Where could he go?"

Mr..Mr...Fluffy? Molpadia was both appalled and amused by the name - but at least she had the good sense to keep both of these emotions from crossing her face. Mostly...her lips might have twitched just a little bit. "If Mr. Fluffy is a large cloven hooved creature as those prints would indicate then I think it's safe to assume it's not longer in the pen" Molpadia agreed. The pen after all seemed to be quite open with very few places for such a creature to hide without being discovered..that and the opening in the fence seemed to do nothing but confirm what she already suspected. Mr Fluffy had run off. It was likely being eaten by the vicious minipets in the woods.

Of course she didn't think that would be a good comment to make and so she merely nodded as one of her fellow clansmen offered to help "Indeed...we can look, a description would be helpful"

Part of dealing with the destruction of the islands was doing one's best to deal with things in his new home, and Alva was determined to do what he could to move on. Dwelling on the feeling of loss wasn't his sort of thing, and he was determined to do Conquest proud by pushing onwards, learning the lay of the land, incorporating this new land into his his arts.

However exploration often turned up some very unusual discoveries and as he made his way past the trance tent, he had to stop. He didn't remember there being a livestock pen, nor perhaps such an empty one. Curiosity seized him and he wandered over, just in time as it was to hear about the disappearance of one Mr Fluffy.

What a.. unique name.

He echoed the sentiments of those already gathered. "Pray tell what exactly is a Mr Fluffy?"

Mmur wasn't yet well versed in the animals of Halloween, nor was he familiar with Medea's brand of sarcasm, which she probably wasn't employing right now anyway. He wouldn't know. The Famine soldier approached the swiftly expanding group of Horsemen at the center of the reserve but remained at the group's fringes, his glowing eyes narrowed slightly in either disbelief or amusement. It seemed something had escaped its pen. Mmur was glad. Cages were no fun for anyone.

"Whatever he is, maybe he just didn't like you," he added, the response muffled by distance and the fact that he hadn't spoken very loud in the first place.

Fai stared at the priestess. "Oh dear," he said in a monotone voice. "Not Mr. Fluffy. Oh where could he be?" Same monotone voice, same blank expression. "I'll just go find him now."

And he turned, to walk the jack away and not look back.

Jay increasingly found herself spending more and more time in the Weeping Forest, more than she initially thought she would. She had first entered it because the forest reminded her of home, but it wasn’t the same. It wasn’t the same, but that wasn’t necessarily bad. The horsewoman enjoyed exploring new places, especially when it was similar to places she was familiar with. Finding the nuances that differentiated the Weeping Forest with her own forest was interesting. She idly stretched out her wings as she exited the forest, a couple of leaves in her long, messy hair. Yawning, Jay combed her fingers through her hair to weed out the plants and twigs that had fallen in while she had taken a nap in the trees. She shouldn’t have been lazing around when there was still much to rebuild, but sometimes she couldn’t help herself.

Her eyes lit up curiously when she noticed the main tent was different. She shifted her steps, walking toward the center of the reserve so she could garner a closer look at it. Ah, yes! The tent now had some sort of pen at its side. It was a spacious pen, with the gate swung open. Jay quirked an eyebrow at the sight before she shifted her attention to the priestess and other horsemen gathered nearby. She managed to arrive in time to catch the name “Mr. Fluffy.” Her interest was piqued.

“Mr. Fluffy?” she repeated. “Is Mr. Fluffy big and fuzzy and friendly and loyal and fluffy? Because it sounds like it.”

Upon asking to describe Mr. Fluffy, Medea's expression turned slightly disappointed. Just slightly. She never really was up to date with those new horsemen lingo things or Human World expressions the younger Clans members liked to pick up during their Lair deployments.

"Well," She began, trying to stall for time. Think of something, Mr. Fluffy needs all of the people rescuing him, you have to win these clan members over. "He is very.... fluffy. He's super super fluffy and he has this - " Here, she tried to seem at least in with the times as she moved her arms into a heart-shape, "Giant fluffy head like this."

There was a reason she was a priestess that usually just stayed cloistered in her own Temple, okay.

Upon hearing Mmur's comment, the priestess dropped her stance. Men. "I will have you know that Mr. Fluffy has been my loyal companion for over a century, I will not have you belittle him like this." This barely made sense: hadn't they been implying that they left her? She haughtily turned away. "Consider it a request then from the Head Priestess: the first person to locate Mr. Fluffy will be greatly compensated for their efforts." A pause. "Though I would appreciate any of his kind being returned to me, their fur is used to create a luxurious cloth of great monetary value."

Another pause. Wait, why where they still waiting there? Horsemen these days... "Go along then, and remember that all paths leads to the same end."

Wait, what did that have to do with al-

When he noticed the small crowd of people crowding around what appeared to be a fenced pen of sorts. Curiosity already piqued, Mengyao idly wandered over, the fan in his hand brushing against his cheek. It was not just the remaining members of one clan, but many - including the Priestess herself. And Mengyao was left wondering the exact same thing as everyone else:

Where had that pen come from, anyway.

Besides that, however, he really had no idea who - or what - "Mr. Fluffy" was, though the fact that Medea, of all people, was looking for he - she - it - should have been a sign that it was something important.

Mr. Fluffy.

...he tried not to think of what exactly that could be. Mengyao, standing mostly in the back, was standing beside a young famine horseman with a large, yellowed animal skull on his head.

"Whatever he is, maybe he just didn't like you."

A laugh escaped Mengyao's throat before he could stop it, and he hastily muffled it by the fan over his face and a heavily draped sleeve lifting to block it.

But it seemed as if they were going to go find...something.

Mengyao suddenly felt like a ranger, for some reason.

Okay. That description clarified absolutely nothing Alva decided.

But he got the feeling they weren't going to get much more out of the priestess regarding what her lost creature looked like. He could go back to the ramshackle place they were expected to call home he reasoned, he could just leave this right here. His first instinct was to do just that.

But. He owed it to this new venture to give things a try. So it was time to go hunting for the super fluffy Mr Fluffy.

One, Lan didn't like the idea of wrangling anything.
Two, She didn't like the idea of wrangling an alpaca.
Three, Medae was a bit odd.
Four, Mr. Fluffy was a terrible name.
Five, How did it survive the phoenix?

Whatever. She would.. try to keep an eye out for an Alpaca.

Try being the key word.
