Ryger felt a little weird straying from his charge and his mate, but he realized that he needed to feel more in tune with these lands. Learn what was normal, and learn what would stick out to anyone who really knew what this place sounded, felt, and smelled like. He wanted to be the perfect guard for the Emperor, and this was the new aspect of his training that he was beginning. Even if it meant parting ways from those he cared for for a bit, it was worth it. He was still within the realm of the Central house, but it was in an area that he wasn't as familiar with. He walked slowly, his red eyes lingering over everything. He was trying to settle his mind into remembering how everything grew, how the trees would reach over, the bushes hiding certain areas...really. This land was so beautiful, and it matched the Emperor and Empress in its grace. He only hoped that everyone else felt the same way, and treated their home with respect.

While Ryger felt weird for one reason, Rasul felt weird for another. He'd been in the Central House's lands for a while now, after witnessing a wedding going on. He'd certainly cleaned up a lot since coming here, but he was still holding onto SOME old habits. His viciousness with intruders was at least a bit of a bonus.... If a tiny bit. But the intruder he'd run into today had been very different, because when he'd started to charge when she made it clear she was coming in yet not quite staying, she'd bent down and lifted a cub up. Cubs made him stop, because unlike the last cub he'd met, these ones had a mother with them, and she proclaimed him responsible for them.
Now he was slowly trailing his way back along the path he'd been patrolling, four little balls of fur in tow, at least one constantly attacking his tail and ankles. He suddenly turned, snarling the cub's face. "STOP THAT." All he got was a paw in the face. So much for putting them in their place... His ear flicked and he looked up, spying Ryger. Oh, thank whoever was watching them down here...

Ryger was surprised to hear the near-silence around him cease. His stark red eyes glanced around, not seeing where the voice had come from. Though the foliage around him absorbed a lot of the noice, bits and pieces always seemed to echo just enough to throw him off. Yet another reason why he needed to be able to know these lands better, to be the best protector he could be for the Emperor.
With a blink, he finally saw who it was. And he was....surrounded by cubs? That was odd. He nodded to Rasul in acknowledgement, though not certain that the male would want to converse with him. Cubs were an unknown element to Ryger, and he thought it was safe to assume that Rasul would be more intent to find a female to dump them on than the pause and speak to him. Not that Ryger could hide well, being blue and yellow in a land that wasn't.

Noticing Ryger, Rasul shook a cub off his leg again. "Ryger, oh thank... Whatever god!" He turned, hissing at a biting cub again. "Can you help me? These cubs won't stop biting, and nipping, and... OW!" He jumped a good couple feet in the air and to the right, ending up landing rather ungracefully and rolling onto his side. He was promptly covered up by nipping and biting cubs. No wonder their mother had found him and dumped them on the brown lion... He looked up at Ryger, gold eyes very pleading. These cubs seemed to be simply too much for him.

Ryger chuckled. "They're teething, or something of the like," the royal guard said as he swooped down to peel off one of the cubs. At least then Rasul didn't have the whole army chomping on him.
"Where did you get these? Pursue a lady you shouldn't have?" It wasn't a secret that Ryger had his own wife, but the blue lion didn't have any qualms about those who had cubs outside of marriage. It was hard to find anyone not wanting to help raise cubs in all of Tianxia.

With a little effort, he got the other three cubs off. The green boy, it seemed, was going to be the MOST trouble. "Thank you... And you could.. Say that... She came looking for me..." He made a slight face, then shoved the green cub off again. "Little bundles of... Teeth..." And claws... And... A lot of energy. "They were fine from the time she dropped them off on me a couple hours ago until a few minutes ago... I think they may be hungry..." His nose wrinkled. He was NOT about to nurse any cubs. Not that he figured he COULD, being a male and all. He looked at the cubs again, suddenly frowning a different kind of frown. "Now I gotta name them..." Their mother had never bothered to tell him if they even HAD any...

Ryger shook his head. "Seems like you got with a lady with zero maternal instinct." He watched as Rasul tried to hard to gain control over his little brood. They were rambunctious, and would probably be pretty damn strong when they got older if they kept playing like that! "Y'know, once they calm down a bit, I'd be happy to see if Bai Hudie, my wife, would give you a bit of a hand? They may have to take to eating meat quickly, but...I'm sure we'd be happy to help you out." Ryger couldn't imagine being in Rasul's shoes, so why not try to help out a bit? "Short, easy names to start?" Ryger said, chuckling again. "Sorry that she did that to you." Andranis I am so sorry, thank you for the quote. ;;

Safaia Did we wanna try and finish this tonight, mayhaps? heart If you feel up to it surprised The brown and red lion let out a huff, looking at the four cubs. They were finally sitting still, staring at Ryger... The green one looked like he was measuring the blue male for an attack. "Short names... Right..." He cleared his throat, looking at them all, before placing a paw on the oldest boy's head, a cub that looked so much like himself. "I'll start with... Common names... Aqil." He placed a paw on the oldest girl's head, marked with a red streak down her back. "Najwa." Then he poked the green cub, yanking his paw away. "Ponton... He's so big..." When he put his paw on the last girl, he almost felt himself melt a bit inside. "Lamis..." Well, they had common names now, at least. "I'll have to think of proper names later... Because it'll get confusing calling them 'Hong' for a while..." The idea of surnames had tickled Rasul to the point... He had at least deemed that the cubs would have his surname.

Andranis lulz whoops, sorry XD;;; we are good for word count! Ryger listened carefully as Rasul went through each cub's named. They all sounded good to him, and it seemed like the big male before him needed this support, even if the royal guard was just sitting here and listening. "Common names are a good way to start. It'll give you time to think of good proper names later. Hmmm." He looked at each of them, a little amused at their actions towards their father. "Well, maybe you can decide once they finally crash from exhaustion," he chuckled. "Then you can take your time, in some peace and quiet."

Safaia Yay! XD And I'd call this a wrap ~ As the green cub, particularly angry of them all, pulled on his tail, Rasul let out a huff, shoving the cub down. "Yeah, that sounds like a good idea..." He started ushering the cubs, mindful of them nipping at his paws. "Ow! Come on, all of you!" He was taking them home... And hopefully they didn't get into any trouble!
